1.
The blatantly opportunistic cynical pisstaking? J.
Yup, sounds about right.
2. No accusation of theft was made by me, I was only ruminating that the quality of the units might possibly be on a par with the "professional quality studio monitors" that I've been offered in service station car parks on more than one occasion by the aforementioned dodgy white van men who were trying to "liquidate excess stock". Allegedly. I must have looked shifty as well, I suppose. Just sayin'...
3. Anyone tried the new K cabs up against the RS? I'm looking for a compact but loud combination to go with my TC BH800 (currently using an EBS Proline 410, like the body and brightness, hate the weight). It's been suggested I try a RS210 with a RS112, or two RS210s. But the new K210 looks good too. Anybody compared them? Ta.
4. ...but I'm not too sure about this one. WIthout wishing to be in any way disparaging, this looks a bit like the sort of gear that the dodgy geezers who approach you in motorway service stations are trying and flog off... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Joblot-of-Sound-Equipment-Speakers-Amps-Microphones-etc-Resale-Value-20K/131476214828
5.
It's 10kg lighter than an Ampeg fridge! But where did the 92p come from, though?
Is it? Wow. I had an Ampeg 8x10 years ago, but I was younger and stronger back then... I think it would cost more than 92p to post as well...
6. I quite fancy one just to stand in the corner of my living room as a conversation piece. I might even play it!
7. This weighs an absolute ton, but I bet it sounds great. Odd price, still a bargain, though... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trace-Elliot-1084H-Bass-Loudspeaker-Cabinet-1600W/321799338669
8. There have been a couple of all-bass ensembles I can think of: Berliner Bass Ballett in the mid-80's, and Sweden Bass Orchestra featuring the late, great Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. Don't misunderstand me, they aren't a reason not to do it, in fact quite the reverse - they should be used as a reference point and a source of inspiration!
9. I'll bet it's lovely - hard to tell with only one photo though. Can you post some more please? Is the bass in the UK, or LA?
10. I might have that. I need something to dig the garden with.
11. Nice looking thing, and very cheap - for now... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-LATE-1970-039-s-1980-039-s-PRECISION-TYPE-ELECTRIC-BASS-GUITAR-JAPAN-KOREA-/201376895091
12. I've used Interparcel in the past. Although they're a clearing house for spare capacity on the major carriers, they offer good prices and additional insurance. Just check the exclsuions! Parcelfarce's small print states that they won't pay out for damage to musical instruments, even if they're in a case BTW, so avoid them at all costs...
13.
could be interested in this.... what's the weight??? Was looking for a Yamaha TRB1005... i suppose this will be quite similar??
Comes in at 4.6kg on my digital bathroom scales. I've owned a few Yamahas , and I have to say this beats them all, even a TRB5Pii....
14. Special offer! £500 if you pay shipping or collect... valid until this weekend...
15. Interesting. I can't help wondering what the inside of your right forearm would look like after a long gig, though...
16.
did you receive my PM? let me kow please.
Hi Pierre, I recieved your message, and replied on 18th June. Did you get it?
17.
It may be a ludicrous C&W nightmare from the mid-70s - but I am curiously & worryingly tempted - particularly with Thomann knocking it out for $380. Given what Ibby reissues are typically sold at, that's about half what I'd expected. Anyone know any details, like where it's made (doubt it's MIJ at that price) or if it's a ltd. edition? J.
It is limited edition, but to how many, I don't know. Made in Indonesia. If you fancy one, get it now while stocks last at £390 notes, I'd say...
18.
What is the weight like on it?
Comes in at a shade over 4kg on my digital bathroom scales, and balances well too.
19.
I'm glad to see your wait is over, must say it looks great. Am I right in thinking that it's cheaper today than in the late 70s,allowing for inflation.
It surely must be! I desperately wanted one in 1976, but I had to settle for an Antoria Jazz...
20. The (Black) Eagle has landed! Arrived from GAK yesterday and initial impressions are very good. Plays really well, although may need a tweak to get rid of a little fret buzz on the G up the dusty end. Not that I get up there often. Finish and hardware 9/10, only loses a point for a couple of blemishes in the paintwork in the slot cutout in the headstock. Clear, articulate tones, a little barkier than a standard Jazz, but nicely full-bodied. An extraordinary amount of very stylish bass for only £449. In fact, Thomann are currently doing it for £387.52 with free shipping... http://www.thomann.de/gb/ibanez_2609b_black_eagle_bass.htm

23.
Isn't that a beauty? And Dave is a great chap to deal with. I picked up an old Trace AH200 head from him a couple of years back and it is still going strong. GLWTS. Geoff
Thanks Geoff! You are a gent, sir...
24.
Hi, Is this still available?
Yup, still for sale. I've PM'd you.
