1. Denis bought my SKC Bogart, and was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Great communication, immediate payment, a really friendly guy to deal with. Buy/sell/trade with confidence.
 2.
I really like that
I'm only down the road, Gareth... come over and try it - you know you want to! Kettle's on.
 3. Had a go on it yesterday - a very lovely thing, plays beautifully and sounds great! Somebody needs to snap this up...
 4. A sunburst one of these was my main bass for several years back in the 80's - great instruments. GLWTS!
 5. Fantastic bass, fantastic price, especially with the John East too! I have a Skyline DJ5 with a J Retro, and it's every bit as good as any USA Lakland I've played, and I've owned a few... Good luck with the sale.
 6. Lovely. Let me know if you're ever down Woking way, I'd love to try it!
 7.
Trade for a CV 60s P?
Sorry, I'm not looking for any trades.
 8. Updated details bump...
 9.
What's the weight please?
9 lbs, and sits well on a strap.
 10.
Want this! Got a Peavey GV in red sparkle and this would be an ace addition. Gutted I'm skint
They certainly would look great together. Make me an offer - I can only say no!
 11. For sale is a SKC Bogart graphite headless 5-string, in beautiful condition. Made in the early 90's, it's one of only a very few 36" scale basses made by them. It's light, compact and exceedingly well balanced, and fitted with a 9v Noll 2-band preamp and Bartolini pickups. Controls are volume (a push/pull pot for active/passive mode) pickup pan, and stacked treble and bass cut/boost. The woven carbon graphite neck, composite body and extended scale give the bass a wonderfully clear, concise voice, and it's fantastic to play. It's just been fitted with a fresh battery and a new set of D'Addario EXL170-5's. - blackstone body (composite material) - woven graphite neck - phenowood fingerboard w/ zero fret - Bartolini hum cancelling single coil pickups - Schaller straplocks - weight: 3.9kg - string spacing at bridge: 18.3mm / 0.72 inches I bought this bass quite recently from another BC'er, but something else has caught my eye, so unfortunately I have to 'rationalise' my little collection. I'm only asking what I paid for it, and it comes with a Fender guitar gigbag, which it fits comfortably. The price includes shipping within the UK, or you're welcome to collect (near to junction 10 of the M25) . Sorry, but I'm not looking for any trades. NOW SOLD pending payment.
 12. Up for sale is my Yamaha BB615 5-string lined fretless, which started life fretted, and was converted by The Gallery in Camden. It's a lovely bass to play and sounds great, but I just don't play fretless much, or very well for that matter, so it needs to move on to pastures new! 3-band EQ, currently fitted with medium Thomastik flats. It has a couple of small marks on the back of the neck, and a bit of a gouge in the underside of the headstock, both courtesy of its original owner, but neither has any effect on the playability. 13. For sale is a very funky Peavey USA Millennium 5, not to be confused with their Indonesian budget range. A lovely and quite rare thing, and only bought from fellow BC'er finkle at the end of last year, but something almost as shiny has caught my eye, so sadly I have to 'rationalise' my little collection. Complete with fresh batteries and new set of D'Addario EXL170-5s, and a sturdy Peavey fitted case. USA made, specs as follows:

Eastern Maple satin finish neck with Pau Ferro fingerboard (15" radius) and graphite reinforcement
35" scale with 21 frets
Alder body
1 x MM style and 1 x Jazz Peavey VFL active pickups
Active 18v 3 band preamp with mid sweep control
Hipshot low mass tuners
Quadra-Just Hipshot bridge with 3 way adjustable saddles
Truss rod adjustable by wheel - as for EBMM basses - no allen keys needed
Through bridge and through body stringing
Graphtech Tusq nut
Schaller Straplocks
17.5mm string spacing (adjustable)
Nut width 1.82" at nut (45.72mm), coming out to 62.21mm at 12th fret, and 68.36mm at 21st fret
Nut depth 20.37mm at 1st fret, depth coming out to 22.19mm at 12th fret
Weight 9 lbs
NOW TRADED
 14. I'd like to know what happened to the rest of the old bike he used to make this...
 15. Everything looks better in a rural setting. Except that.
 16. Now that's thorough. I particularly like the bit of duster fluff caught on the tuner screw head in picture #5...
 17. I just bought a lovely 36" scale Bogart headless from green, and it was a flawless transaction - very friendly, with great attention to detail, he even called me from Germany to check he had the format of my address correct before posting. The bass also came superbly packaged, well able to withstand anything the shippers could throw at it! Buy/sell/trade with complete confidence.
 18. Let me preface what I'm about to say by pointing out that one bad experience will invariably bring others to light, and I'm sure most Barefaced customers are very happy, but unfortunately I had a similar experience to artisan. I emailed Alex a couple of times before placing an order, and he reponded very quickly to my questions. However, once I had ordered and paid for the cab, it took a good deal longer than quoted to arrive, and like artisan I had to constantly chase Alex for info on its progress. When it did arrive, initally I very was pleased with it, but sadly the HF horn in the cab failed on only its second outing. I emailed him that night (at that time there was no other means of contacting him - I see there is now a phone number on the website) and Alex called me the following morning (a Saturday) but his response was that I must have done something to have caused it to fail, which I hadn't. On the evening in question I was playing with a corporate function band in a large venue on the south coast with a large PA and full onstage monitoring, so the cab wasn't being pushed even vaugely hard. I've had enough experience of equipment to know that this stuff can just happen sometimes, but his tone was not helpful. I returned it to him a couple of days later for repair, however his general demeanour, coupled with the fact that my confidence in the cab was now a bit shaken, prompted me to return it under his 'one month trial' offer, but it took almost a month and a couple of reminder emails before I finally received a refund. All that said, he's clearly a very knowledgeable guy, but IMHO his business would fare much better if he handed over customer service to someone else, and concentrated solely on the technical side. All of the above was a couple of years ago, so hopefully things have changed, but due to my experiences, I certainly wouldn't buy a Barefaced product again.
 19.
Ok, so it's about time I shared my collection as it stands at the end of 2014. A few have come in & a few have gone this year but this is what I have right now (Six I think) !!! and still looking for a 44-51 Precision/ Tele bass As the Black BG went out, the DJ came in!!
Very nice! You realise what you're doing, don't you? I'm going to have to add to my collection now!
 20. That's lovely. So many great basses... so little time (and cash)!
 21.
Funnily enough, a 4-76 has just been listed on talkbass.
Well spotted... and the correct model number seems to be 4-76 as you say, not 44-76 as I suggested. A bit pricey once you factor in shipping and import duties, but very nice! http://www.talkbass.com/threads/1998-us-lakland-4-76.1125000/
 22.
Was there ever a 4 string version?
There was, the 44-76, but they are equally rare. Worth looking around for, though!
 23. The exact same bass in black was my first 5-string back in 1992. Excellent basses, and a real bargain price too. GLWTS.
