2. Hi, welcome to Basschat. Thats a very nice bass!
3. Thats a lot of money! I'd be scared to use it, just imagine if your Drummer dinged it with a stand!
4. Never bought much from them but it was a great place to try out lots of stuff under the same roof! It's going to be much harder to try before you buy now. I noticed the website has changed, but it was much better before!
5. Ashdown MAG300 / 600. I've got a MAG600 and it's a great little amp for the money IMO. I tried quite a few amps around this price range when buying and this eventually won (even tho there is no compression on it).
6. I've heard good things about the bongo's but i'm not sure about the looks!
7. Welcome to Basschat! I'd look at Warwick's the swap ash ones are reasonably light weight and have a nice tone to them IMO.
8.
or buy a distortion with a blend no matter what people tell you, the boss odb-3 can be an excellent pedal if used right
I got an odb-3. It has taken me ages to get a good sound out of it but it is a good sound! I think people give up on this pedal too quickly.
9. Looks like quite nice gear! not sure where you would get to try one out tho.
10. That sucks! :-( Makes you wonder what they do with these parcels. When my Warwick turned up the box was shredded, luckily the bass was fine even tho it was only in a gig bag. Gave me a heart attack for a second tho!
11. Hi David , Welcome to Basschat!
12. I've got a Sound City 120PA that I used to use as a bass amp with a carlsbro 4x10 cab. Got some really nice sounds out of it, very warm! Had totally forgotten I still had this until i saw this post! prob be up for sale soon
13. Fist bass was from local junk shop, short scale, body was massive and looked a bit like an alembic (a bit!) had a great sound really deep! but was horrible to play. when I upgraded to a Fender P bass light it was like playing air bass!
14. Hi Dave, like your music taste!
15. lots of great bass-lines here! some I don't think have been mentioned are: Deeper underground - Jamiroquai Parallel Universe - RHCP Would - Alice in chains Master of Disguise - Wishbone Ash
16. Hi Karl, Welcome back to bass! your already in one of the best places for information on bass. I agree with Chop about the line 6 amps either that or possibly a Laney (a friend of mine has one and it isn't bad) best thing is to get to a music shop and try some out!
17. i'd do it! you can always leave if it gets too much and it will be a boost to your playing!
18.
I've used both Joe White and Ben Fleetcroft in Godalming and can recommend them both. Hamster
I use Ben Fleetcroft in Godalming for my basses and amps and he always does an excellent job!
19. Always try to do first come first served. Its the only way to be fair to both bands!
20. Dave Grohl Chad Smith John Bonham and of corse Mike Portnoy
