1. Bought a scratchplate from Alex and it was delivered quickly in one of the most impressive packing jobs I've ever seen. Top guy, very good communication too
2. Gave my back up CV Precision a facelift today courtesy of ratman and his white CV scratchplate (all-nickel bridge and flat-top knobs already added).
3. Squier CV Precision Bass scratchplate, tortoiseshell. Taken off my Fiesta Red Precision. Great condition. No pictures just now but can get some if needed. £12.50 posted.
4.
The Classic Vibe is not in his price range
There's a Squier CV in Inca Silver for sale on here for £199. For me it's an absolute no-brainer; if I could get on with Jazzes I'd have had it. My two Squiers are excellent instruments and incredibly well made so I'd have no qualms buying it blind. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/289529-fender-squier-classic-vibe-jazz-mint/page__pid__3106246#entry3106246 Additionally, I've tried the VM Squiers and while they're nice, the difference in quality between them and the CVs is night and day.
5.
Alright mate, It's this one - https://www.gak.co.uk/en/peavey-410tvx-bass-cab-4-ohms/17430 I live just outside of Blackpool. Are you playing at Hopstar 39? I know Gary Ward who regularly puts on gigs there... Ta.
It's at Sunbird Records apparently. I'll see what the transport situation is and if there's room for it I'll give you a shout.
6.
£12
Is that an offer or are you just re-pricing my ad for me?
7. Where in Lancashire are you? I might be in Darwen in a couple of weeks for a gig. Is it the "lightning bolt" logo?
8. Lightly used Fender 9050M flats, 55-105. Received in a trade but I don't think flats are for me. Cut for a 4-in-line headstock so should be fine for any Fender-style bass as there's plenty left beyond the post. Looking for £12.50 posted.
9. Thanks for all the replies. I took my cab to practice today (for the first time since I got my Peavey head I now realise) and it's safe to say the drivers aren't going anywhere; even though I'm probably getting less than 200 watts out of it it's ridiculously loud and the PA drivers handle the lows, mods and highs better than any driver I've used before. 15s can be quite bassy and muddy but the cab is one of the clearest I've heard. If only it weren't so bloody cumbersome!
10. I had the same problem (there's a thread about it on here) but after a month or so of trying to get the bugger out I gave up and just bought a new bridge.
11.
just looked at the cab in your gear, is it the Peavey that matches the Mk IV head, I used to have one of those, They came with two Black Widow 15's with the metal domes if it is the same cab which gave quite a nice bright tone. If it is then the dimensions are a bit off.
Yep, it is the cab that goes with the head. There were two versions; mine is the shallow version, but there was a larger, deeper version which was more common. Mine would have originally had BWs but the ones from this cab are long gone.
12. Close up of the rusted screw, it's the bass side of the E string saddle.
