I swear, if I can get my bass to sound like my middle daughter I'll never need to worry about getting lost in the mix again, her voice cuts through everything Here's a picture of her appropriating her my guitar case [Img]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y175/Ghost_Upon_The_Stage/FB_IMG_1487495425872_zps8basdmdw.jpg" class="ipsImage" />

Bands you adore that no one else has ever heard of...
Every year I go to Desertfest. Every year people ask me who I saw, and if I enjoyed it. And every year they inevitably ask "who?"
The Sunday this year looks spectacular -
Hopefully you`ll like them Graham, I think they`re awesome. We were lucky enough to be asked to support them last year, a real "we`re not worthy" moment for me. I was really impressed by their professionalism too.
Listened to their This Means War record this morning, great stuff - straight up, sing-along punk. Must've been a great gig to support them -
1. Anyone else familiar with Birdeatsbaby? Their most recent album has been gathering a fair bit of attention lately, and deservedly so. I first met them when we organised a gig together; hardly knew anything about them but two years later I've got their last two albums on regular rotation. This one's a bit of a favourite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TafWo76nHt0
I did some pay to play nonsense with them years ago, ended up sharing the train home with the singer, lovely girl; I had no idea they were still going, must give them a listen. -
Richard the keyboard player from Threshold added some piano to one of my favourite albums written by two dear friends of mine: In The Head Of A Maniac by Audioplastik. I highly recommend purchasing that one. The second album is going to be awesome!
Who else is in Audioplastik? I remember seeing it advertised as a side project of someone I liked, but can't remember who, and had completely forgotten about it until now. -
My current fave bands are Booze & Glory, The Last Resort and The Old Firm Casuals but I`d be pretty sure not many know much about any of them.
I've heard of The Old Firm Casuals, through the Lars link, but not heard any yet. I've been listening to a fair bit of Rancid recently so will try and give them a spin tomorrow. -
Was having a discussion on Facebook earlier with a guitarist friend, and we both agreed that despite our love of alternative rock, if we played anything like Incubus at our local pubs, we'd be roundly ignored.
We generally find Foo Fighters go down pretty well and Incubus are of a similar vein, so I'm hopeful
Just been watching some Incubus on YouTube and thought to myself "love to play in that band..."
I'm dropping hints about adding Megalomaniac to our set-list at the moment

Not a fan here, don't like the sound or the feel, nickel plated rounds is where it's at for me

Thinking about it a bit more: Akercocke Electric Wizard Emperor (live band) Down

Metallica between '88 and '92

Rate the bass above you; the guilty pleasure edition.
I like the vintage vibe on the Danelectro's and they do sound good but i can't get past the body shape on this one... allways reminds me of this guy: My guilty pleasure bass is really a guilty pleasure as i don't need any more basses, in fact i have more than i need, but i would love to get my hands on one of these: would sit great in my Yammy collection
I love that, apart from the white painted tuners, just why? -
E bay...where have all the bargains gone?
Graham replied to theplumber's topic in General Discussion
I believe Ebay being predominately traders and more private sellers on Gumtree was a deliberate business decision by Ebay, as they own Gumtree as well and wanted to seperate them that way. -
I reckon this is better than the original Beatles http://youtu.be/oG5oEEkid_Q
No it didn't. One Hot Minute is their best album.
I prefer Californication

Both Fender and Musicman seem to struggle with this, when G&L, who have a much smaller share of the market, can offer you a whole range of colours on a make to order item, it makes you wonder why Fender can't.

Whoop, dep gig has come in for tomorrow night, January is no longer barren
Our bookings are coming in one and two at a time. I think we had two come in for March this week. As you know I've always bragged about our presence at Summerfest (World's largest music fest). We're a local support actraction. If you can get a Friday or Saturday slot at at least 3:00 it's great. However week days with a 12 noon slot when gates open at 10am not always so fun.Pay is the same regardless of time slot. The band has played Summerfest for the last 10 years. Blue
The photos you've put up before do look fantastic

I used to have a Be4, couldn't fault it, very well made instrument, it's just the sound wasn't right for me when I changed bands so I sold it.

January's dead and only one in Feb, but it picks up after then. I think this is going to be our busiest year yet, I've not seen the calander this full in mid-January before, so looking forward to it.
I went to Arc Tangent which is a mathrock noiserock / doomcore festival ... With my other half , I like my metal but this is toooooo extreme for my tastes ... Turns out some of the earlier acts were very good ... Go for the musicianship and the beer . Just remind your SO next time they are moaning about spending too much time standing around at *insert bass shop of choice*.
I'd love to go to Arc Tangent, looks like a brilliant little festival. the wife rarely comes to gigs with me, she'd be welcome to come but unless we get a babysitter someone has to stay home and most things I go to (in fairness not much these days) aren't to her taste. We have been to see The Lounge Kittens together recently, which was brilliant. To the OP, sitting through Five Finger Death Punch? That's love right there

The bassist for Voices uses one live, they're a pretty small band so may well respond if you contact them on social media if you had questions about it.
This. I genuinely thought it was a parody when I first heard it. I proper LOL'd. It's overwrought, over-sincere, and dreadful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Dg-g7t2l4
Oh god yes, complete abomination
