Bought Chris's J retro over the weekend. Top piece of kit at an excellent price. Really good bloke too - pity I didn't have time to pop in for a brew. Cheers Chris!

Oh God. Not this illiterate fool. He had a Precision Deluxe for sale a few months ago, which I offered to buy for the full amount being asked - but only if I could pay on collection. He sent me a completely condescending message saying that he wasn't a shop and I shouldn't expect to be able to pay on collection. I told him to stick it up his arse. Sideways.

Reminds me very much of Beady Belle. Groovy stuff. I like it.

Needs more scratchplate IMO. I think he should've covered the fingerboard and thrown in a case made entirely out of scratchplate. And offered to send it in a box made of scratchplate... Delivered by a van made out of scratchplate fuelled by melted scratchplates... By a man wearing a scratchplate shirt. THEN I'd buy it.

Bought a EHX Pedal bag from him. Top bloke and top item. Cheers.

I know this place is about debate but I don't see the point of these threads TBH. One man's Mingus is another man's Adam Clayton and vice versa. I've seen these threads rapidly degenerate into a slanging match and end up fueling disagreements between previously friendly members. Just my opinion ( ) of course.

E.g "We have detected you are using a different PC than usual. Please call this number to verify your identity. Calls charged at £1 per minute."

I added Wizard 64s, a Badass II, changed the pots for CTS 250Ks with a push/pull series/parallel pot. After a pro setup it is an absolute monster. I've seen people look at the Squier badge and sneer until they hear it played. Then they want to know what I've done to it. 'Nuff said.
Cheers mate!! Thanks for the heads up, i dont need em for my pedals,i did hear they were bigger, do they fit in your warwick ok?, thats what i want them for, my jazz is active too, im pretty certain they wont fit in the battery compartment i had fitted. Ive also read they give a cleaner sound due to increased headroom, is that true? id imagine they just keep a consistent tone longer. Thanks again- LEE They fit fine in the Dolphin and my Reggie Hamilton Jazz. They don't fit in things with the swivel type battery compartment as far as I can see. Regarding a cleaner sound, I can't say I've heard any difference. 9V is 9V I would have thought although I'm sure some "golden ears" nerds will swear blind that they can hear an improvement.

RE: Ultralifes Just a heads up before anyone buys. Ultralifes do last MUCH longer than Duracells. Unfortunately they are a bit bigger than Duracells and will not fit in some basses/pedals. For example, they don't fit in my Stingray or in my Microbass.

Hello all, I've been using this forum for a while now and thought I ought to introduce myself. I'm Ray from Oldham nr. Manchester. I'm 36 and have been playing since I was 16. I did quit altogether when I was 21 for the best part of a decade after a band I was in disintegrated and put me off altogether. I particularly love 60s and 70s music. From Hendrix, Cream, Floyd etc. through Motown and Soul to Funk/Disco. Some of my favourite bass players are: Bernard Edwards, Larry Graham, Louis Johnson, James Jamerson, Jack Bruce, Paul McCartney I play in 2 bands - an 8 piece Soul/Funk band and a classic Rock covers band. I also dep for a Swing band and another Soul/Funk band. I currently have 9 basses: 2 old beaters which rarely get played- A Hohner HP bass (my first bass) and a Vintage Stingray copy. A 2006 Warwick Dolphin Pro I 2 Jazz basses - Fender Reggie Hamilton and a Squier VM Jazz with Wizard 64s and a Badass II A 2008 Fender American Standard Precision A 2002 Stingray 4 An SX Fretless P copy and a Harley Benton Beatbass (surprisingly good sounding for such a cheap bass) Out of that lot my 2 "workhorses" are the Fender P and the Stingray although I may substitute out the Ray depending on the gig. My other gear is currently: Bass>Korg AX3000b (used for standard effects - chorus, delay, env follower etc. no amp/cab modelling used)> EBS Multicomp>EBS Microbass II>Markbass 121H combo with 121H Traveler extension cab. I've had loads of gear over the years (including EBS, Ashdown, Trace, Ampeg "fridge") but this little lot is the best yet for everything from modern funk slap through to warm vintage P bass. It's also really light and portable and it all fits in my tiny Yaris. Anyway enough of that and hello to all.

I offered $10 but only if I could have a swim in his swimming pool.

Whoop Whoop! Paging Mr Hunt, Mr Warwickhunt
RayFW replied to Macko1968's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
There-in lies the puzzle! It appears there was an initial early edition of 50 fretted 50 fretless that had that signature with the CND symbol BUT they did not have a neck plate. The later run did have a neck plate but the signature was inlaid and different. Bit of an oddball.
Hmmm. How veeerrry strange. -
