1. Gave it a "number 1" with the Wahl clippers and then an extra touch up without a guard and it's almost as new now! I've bought a Roqsolid cover for it and hopefully that'll keep the pesky little bugger off it. Thanks for the tips.
  2. Thanks for the tips. I hadn't thought about using a hair trimmer. I've got a mains one kicking about that I use from time to time - I'll give it a go later. Maybe I should shave the cat at the same time as punishment. Lee, Those pics are ace. The second one had me chuckling away.
  3. Does any body know of anywhere in the North West that'll re cover my Markbass 121H in carpet? My cat has been using it as an expensive scratching post and it's starting to look a bit of a mess.
  4.
Swapped a P Fretless with him for his Behringer vamp pro plus cash. Fantastic guy to deal with - item in top notch condition. Very easy transaction. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him (don't know about the iffy Fender hat )
It was windy!
  5. I can't watch the Manring one without crying. The crackly effects and awkward silence when the audience starts sniggering just crack me up.
  6.
Is the Variax still around?
I've sold it last week via ebay but I've not been paid yet. I'll let you know if it becomes available again due to non payment.
  7. Traded a Behringer V amp pro plus some cash for his SX Fretless P bass. Bass is in fantastic condition and the deal was easily set up - couldn't be happier. Top bloke.
  8.
Get one of these instead....... http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll...=unbranded+bass
With spelling so bad, I wouldn't be surprised if you were sent one of these rather than a bass:
  9. Excellent condition. Selling due to purchase of Korg Ax3000b £65 including delivery within 20 miles ish of Oldham or will post for approx £10 Includes manual and Mains lead. **NOW TRADED***
  10.
I really don't want to get in a pissing match on the blatantly anti-American stuff here (some people don't care much about reality, the history of WWII, or the atrocities which occurred after we left S.E. Asia). so let's take a step back, laugh at cheap American shotguns, and expensive British ones with silver inlays and Rolls Royce self-propelled cases.
This wasn't intended as a anti American thread. I thought the original TB thread was an amusing example of the difference in cultures. Nothing more. Nothing to do with WWII or other seemingly inferred sleights.
  11.
Guy Berryman has made around £25 million as co-writer of many of Coldplay's biggest hits. Does that surprise you given his clearly 'limited' role? Oooohhh.....
4th richest man under 30 in the UK apparently. Bet he can't play teen town though. Ahem...
  12. Any updates? I want to see how the paintjob looks.
  13. I know I shouldn't make sweeping generalisations but this thread over at TB gives an interesting insight into the way some of our Yankee cousins think: Shotguns, Turkeys and Fender amps You've gotta laugh.

Bah!! If I hadn't just shelled out for a Fender Reggie Hamilton I'd be all over that. Beautiful bass. Consider this a bump.
  15.
MB1. New price is £249
What d'you reckon a fair price is then? £19.99? Or should I just use it as kindling next time I go camping?
  16. Due to pressure from the powers that be (i.e the wife) and the recent purchase of far too much bass related stuff, I somewhat grudgingly have to let my Tony Levin go: OLP Tony Levin Signature in Natural: This has not been out of my house and never gigged. It has a superficial scratch approx 1 1/2 inch long on the pickguard and a tiny headstock ding. It is currently fitted with a set of DR Marcus Miller Fat Beam signature strings. 45 - 125 *NOW REDUCED* I'm looking for £180 including postage and a gig bag.
  17.
bump, now £650!!!
Is this still available? If so, how much to post to Manchester?
  18. Last bump before ebay.

Here's a couple of sound clips as promised. Recorded with a Yamaha NE1 for a bit of eq but otherwise direct - no compression etc.
Well if this truly is the case then why should i get a Fender. This seems to be an amazing buy if you can get them kind of tones from it. Is this bass lightweight also can you get a distinctive tone regardless of what rig your using. Also do you fit the wizard pickups and badass yourself or do you get a guitar shop to do it? Also what wizards did you get? I am eyeing the natural colour one.
Not sure how much it weighs but it's certainly lighter than my Warwick which weighs approx 10 pounds. I've not tried it through anybody else's rig so I can't really answer that question. I fitted the badass myself but got a techy friend to put the wizards in as soldering is not my strong point. If you're confident with a soldering iron you should be able to fit them yourself. I got the 64s. I'll try and put some sound clips up later.

They are an absolute bargain. Out of the box I only needed to tweak the intonation a tad to make it a very playable and fine sounding instrument. Both pickups on full with full tone gives a great slap sound. Bridge pickup only with tone rolled off gives a lovely Jaco like tone. It also looks absolutely mint. Add new pickups (Wizards are highly recommended) and a Badass II bridge at a later date like I have and you'll have an absolute monster for not a lot of money. Highly recommended.
  22. I have an EBS Multicomp that seems to eat batteries for fun. I reckon it goes through an alkaline 9V in about 8 hours. I know I can solve the problem by using an AC adaptor but I was wondering whether anyone else experiences this or is my unit faulty? Oops. Just realised I've posted in wrong forum. Mods please move if possible. Cheers.
  23.
Hi, Why don't you get in touch with Rayman( a few posts down from yours).
Not sure that's my kind of thing but thanks for the heads up.
  24.
Have you tried going to Whittles in Oldham Town Centre on a Sunday Afternoon? They have a jam session on, with lots of other muso's in the audience...then there's the White Lion in Heywood on a Thurs evening
Cheers for that Ian. Wasn't aware of either to be honest.
