"Probably The Most Collectable Item Of Music Memorabilia Ever Seen On Ebay" What a twonk!

I love the idea of one of these: http://www.littleguitarworks.com/torzal/ Couldn't justify the expense though (approx $3000)

I think Howard built the body of my Stingray (neck by Jim Cairnes) which I bought from CD_David. It is easily as good as the genuine 'rays I've had ('tis a heavy bugger though) It's changed a bit since this pic with a new MM bridge and MM pickup but you get the idea. (apologies to funkydoug for using his pic):

For a more 'modern' blues setting, Dave Bronze playing with Robin Trower is a great indication of what is needed. Can't get on Youtube as at work but there are some great clips on there of Dave playing in Robin's band.

Can't seem to find anywhere cheaper than the bass gallery at £259. http://www.thebassgallery.com/sadowypre.html Anyone buy one from elsewhere? Cheers, Ray

Good stuff Joe. Not jealous at all. Honest.

Found the little bugger! Still none the wiser as to the size though.

Anyone know the size of the allen key needed to adjust the bridge saddle height? This is with the new High Mass Vintage Bridge. I have a trade pending on this bass and I can't find the bloomin' thing to include with the trade. I put it somewhere "safe" last week. Too safe it would appear. I've tried a few and 1.5mm is too small, 2.0mm too big. 1/16" is too small, 5/64" too big Cheers, Ray
No, it won't come all the way out because it has "ears" on the end to stop it. What I did was push all the way into the body. If you then take the back panel off, the end of the pin is visible behind it, and that's where I stuck the bubble wrap. There's not much play, so stick a bit on the top, then rotate the pin to pull it round. Don't use too much though, as it won't go back down the hole.
I did that to mine last night. Works a treat.

Thanks for all the replies chaps. I'll book myself into the docs and get it checked.
Serious response. If you haven't heard it, are your ears OK?
They're fine as far as I can tell. I wear my watch loose and it rattles a bit when I move my hand which has probably been masking the sound.

My left wrist (fretting hand) makes a clicking noise when I move it sometimes. I only noticed it when someone pointed it out to me whilst setting up a laptop in a meeting so it could have been like this for ages and I've never noticed. I have no pain and no swelling but I did break my wrist twice in the space of 8 weeks as a kid (dozy bugger I know!) My job entails a hell of a lot of typing so I wonder whether that may be contributing. I guess a trip to the docs is the best course of action but just wondered if anyone else had anything similar and whether I should be worrying (especially as I've just taken up EUB) And no, I've not worn it out by.. you know...

Eden Metro Combo & ext cab ****NOW SOLD****
RayFW replied to crez5150's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I've got a Markbass CMD 121H (with cover and Markbass bass keeper) with a 121 Traveller extension that I might be tempted to trade. Cosmetically it's in pretty good condition with one nick in the carpet on the combo and the carpet is a bit 'hairy' in places. I've never had it over half volume and it sounds great. Just looking for a change. Let me know your thoughts. Cheers, Ray -
How important is theory and reading to you??
RayFW replied to JakeBrownBass's topic in General Discussion
I ignored theory for years and years after leaving school thinking I didn't need it and that if I did learn it would somehow stifle my creativity. I relied on my ear for a long time and I reached a plateau in my playing and thought that I had found 'my level' upon which I could not improve. However a few months ago I picked up some theory books and made a real effort to learn to read and delve into harmony etc. It's been a difficult and sometimes frustrating experience but my playing has improved more in that time than in any previous amount of time and my passion for music (of all kinds) has increased. It's been an absolute revelation for me and I would recommend that anyone who feels that their playing has reached a plateau try it. Hallelujah! Praise the Chord! -

I can't believe someone hasn't had it at that price. As for what I'm after, let's just say it's hollow and looks a bit like a telecaster

Do people seriously not know who JJB is? I'm a die hard funkster and even I know and appreciate his playing. Maybe it's an age thing?
