1.
as i'm sure a few of you are aware, absolute music were doing the LH500 for £185 a short while ago. the normal retail being £249. just went onto the site today to show a friend who may have been interested and i gotta say i was pretty shocked by what i saw: Absolute price - £345. Retail - £396 thats a £150 hike on the retail. what gives?
Shurely shome mishtake? I know the pound is struggling at the moment but that is ridiculous.
  2. This thread makes my wallet cry. Next payday I'm ordering one.

    Duh!
The info under your avatar will stretch the size of the post if you've not filled it with enough text. If there's a lot of text or a picture/attachment in your post then it will fill the space. Hope that makes sense
Aaah! Makes sense now I think about it. Duh!

    Duh!

Any reason why I'm seeing huge white gaps under sigs? (Well at least mine anyway!) Am I doing something wrong or is this a site issue?

    Jono B

Jono bought a Fender bridge off me. Paid straight away in a no nonsense deal. Top chap. Cheers Jono!
  6. All the best Doc. Hope you're fighting fit again soon.
  7.
So is it coming back to Manchester? Stunning Bass and the Bart pre-amp is really useful with the switchable Mid's. If Marvin wasn't such a fantastic Bass I would have this back in a flash.
Should be back in Manchester next week. Can't wait!
  8.
Short hands shouldnt be a problem, I seriously have tiny hands but I play a Dinwall six string, the low B on that is 37"
PMd
  9. *NOW SOLD* Thanks for the interest.
  10.
pmd
Replied.
Buy with confidence, Ray's a top chap.
Cheers Russ. Still got a grand burning a hole in your Paypal? Decided how to spend it yet?
  11. GONE. Thanks for looking.
  12.
Black with Bart NTMB active circuit (including mid-shift switch like the 55-02). As I say I haven't really decided if I want to part with it, but stick up some pics of the RH and I'll give it some more thought. Cheers Ian
No worries. Will get some pics up when I get home.
  13.
Would you consider a Lakland 55-01? I'm not sure I want to part with it, but just wanted to gauge your interest before I'd even consider it!
Very interested. Would complement my Lakland DJ4 perfectly. What colour is it?
  14.
If you do change your mind about trades i would LOVE this bass, Id put some cash with my Fretless Cort B4. It seems to be just what im after!
Cheers for that Ste but I'm definitely only after another 5 at the mo.
  15. Fender Reggie Hamilton Standard Jazz for sale or trade. Made in Mexico from USA parts. P/J pickups, 18V 3 band eq with active/passive switch, Hipshot D-tuner. The pickups have been changed for a set of Artecs which sound better to my ear than the originals but I will include the originals in the sale. I have also changed the bridge for a more substantial Gotoh 201 clone. Currently strung with Fender flats but can string with rounds if desired. Excellent condition with a couple of minor dings - nothing too serious or anything to affect playability. A very versatile bass which I am only moving on due to currently owning 3 Jazzes and needing cash for a backup 5. Looking for £350. Would prefer pickup or can meet to do deal as no hard case. I'm in North Manchester. Paypal OK if we split the fees. Trade wise, I'm only looking for a 5 with 19mm string spacing e.g G&L L2500/MTD Kingston Heir 5 etc. At work at the mo so no pics but will add later. Here's a stock pic: *NOW SOLD*
  16. A couple of questions: What's the string spacing? What electronics does it have? How much does it weigh? Cheers.
  17. Try again in a couple of hours. It looks like their mail server is borked. You could always give 'em a ring: 07767 370944
  18. I cried. Nickelback - Humpty Dumpty was a coffee>screen moment.
  19.
I've got a suitable box but Sainsburys are out of possum - any ideas?
Try a grey squirrel. Free and plentiful. Best suited to American blues. For a "British" sound, try a red squirrel. Again free but not so plentiful (although you might get lucky near Formby Point)
  20. Re. the 2nd Sharay Reed clip. I too can't get enough of it. It reminds me why I fell in love with bass in the first place and is exactly the kind of playing I aspire to.
  21. Re. "Creative Bass Techniques" by Portnoi If anyone wants the pdf of this, shoot me a PM with your email address.
  22. Traded my 08 Precision for Keir's Godlyke Disciple 5. A really easy deal to do and a top guy to deal with. Cheers Keir!
  23.
Refund just arrived in my Paypal account - phew! That'll learn me ...
Good stuff!
