Sadowsky M5-24 Modern – Japanese Metroline - *WITHDRAWN*
Acebassmusic replied to Acebassmusic's topic in Basses For Sale
Here's 2 videos I sent to an interested Basschatter. The first is a demo of all sound combinations for the M5-24 (even the extreme boosted eq) along with slap and finger styles and its pretty accurate to my ears of what the bass can do. This Bass Club Chicago demo is also very good, with a bit more "coherant" playing 😉 -
For sale (or trade) is my Sadowsky M5-24 Modern 5 string and lightweight “hard” case. This is one of the Japanese Metroline made basses and not Warwick or NYC. Lovely bass and I have enjoyed our time together but I’m looking for a change in the basses I have…… I would give it a 9.5 / 10 for condition with only a couple of small marks that I can see and have added pics. Current Warwick Metroline M5-24 are costing around £2,400. Make & Model: Sadowsky M5-24 Modern (Japanese Metroline) Made: Approx. 2009 Serial Number: M3170 Body & Top: Swamp ash body with a 59’ sunburst gloss polyurethane lacquer on body Neck: Bolt on, maple, gloss polyester lacquer on neck, graphite rods Scale Length: 34 inch Fingerboard: Maple. 24 frets – 2 octave. Side and front dot markers String Spacing: 19mm Hardware: Machine heads and bridge in chrome. Strap locks fitted Truss Rod: Dual action – fully functional Pick Ups: 2 Sadowsky soap-bar pickups Controls: Sadowsky with VTC – 9 volt active pre-amp. Volume, blend, treble, bass, VTC (variable tone control) with push / pull for active / passive Strings: Fitted with D'Addario, Pro Steels XL, EPS300-5 Case: Lightweight foam “hard” case Weight: 8.8lbs / 4kg Website Links: https://www.sadowsky.com/sadowsky-instruments/metroline-basses/24-fret-basses/ Shipping Weight: Approx. 10kg / 22lb. Shipping will be at cost. Msg me with your postcode and I will get a price. Trade wise I'm pretty much sorted for basses at the moment and would prefer a straight sale but I could be interested in a Fodera Emperor, JCR, Sei etc., 5 string with active electronics, 24 frets, 18 / 19 mm spacing. Try me, you never know! I’ve got good feedback on here, see the link in my signature. Any questions, ask away. 🙂

For sale (or trade) is my Status S2 Classic 5 string and original Status hard case. Lovely bass and I have enjoyed our time together but I’m looking for a change out of the basses I have…… I would give it a 9.5+ / 10 for condition. No dints or marks that I can see only some slight surface swirls which I couldn’t get to photograph! Current price list shows the S2 bolt on costing £2,625. Status have closed their order book for the moment as they have a lot of orders to complete so there could be a long wait for a new one. Generally in a band, yes. Just a bit trickier in an orchestra 🤣

Way too early to go! Sad to hear the new as he did build both "out there" and useable instruments. I remember seeing some of his melt top creations and immediately added it to my "wanted" list. It took me a number of years to find one (in the States) and bring it back home. Played it regularly for about 5 years. 😥

I couldn't find a feedback thread for Jason (@jassthebass) so I'm pleased to start one off for him. He bought my PJB D400 amp from me. Excellent comms, quick payment, no messing about from this gentleman so I would gladly recommend dealing with him. Thanks again, Mike

I never thought of using underwear to maintain my bass. Might just try it next time 🤣🤣

The "sponge on a string" they use to make the mold goes in further than the actual plugs themselves. As @chris_bsays they're probably the main reason many of us can still gig and hear OK. Best value money I've ever spent on musical equipment!

That looks suspiciously like the Rusty Nail? If so, we were there the previous Saturday. Whats the name of the band and I'll keep a look out for you. 👍

Are you sure you're not using a guitar amp? This feature seems to be in built with most models. 🤣🤣 I'm not an electronics guy but have heard in the past of intermittent problems with power supplies (transformer etc) not providing enough juice then giving it full beans (both technical terms 🙂 ). Also if the volume pot loses connection to ground the volume will increase....but why it would do this only during mid gig I don't know. Happy hunting!

Looking for a really good luthier in Scotland.

Try out Graeme Mennie in Aberdeen Facebook link. I've trusted him with my Wal when I had it and he builds guitars and pickups for the Stranglers 👍 -
Just bought a Smooth Hound and DSL strap from Dave. Excellent condition equipment, quick delivery and easy deal. Many thanks 👍

Here's my Phil Jones D400 for sale. I've got 2 other amps which I'm using at the moment so this is going to waste only being used for practices 😮 If you Google reviews on this amp you usually get "great amp, noisless, light, clarity of sound etc." comments.....to which I totally agree. Rather than me regurgitate all the specs heres a link to the PJB site - PJB D400 & Manual I've always had the amp racked to help keep it safe. It's in excellent condition both in looks and functionally and comes with the soft case, rack ears and original packaging / box. You've probably noticed its also one of the rarer red versions as these are usually black. Postage is available, just send me your postcode and I can get you a quote. Preferred payment is bank transfer or Paypal gift.

Just bought Sheps Roscoe from him. Great guy, easy to deal with, bass is in great condition 👍 Thanks mate, much appreciated (only another 425 miles before I get home and can try it with my rig 🙂 )

Oh how I agree with all of this. I ran a covers band for 15 years and tried and tried to get other members of the band to realise that the audience comes to be ENTERTAINED. The music side is important but there are so many other elements to people going away feeling happy. Our guitarist had a perpetual scowl on his face even though that wasn't his personality and the lead singer(s) would not plan things to say in between songs ie: "Hello we are...... etc" As we used to play 3 or four songs in tight succession they only had to find a dozen or so things to say during the night.

Basschat hero of the day! 🏆

I belive this problem was solved many, many years ago.... 🤣🤣 Not always the guitarist......but mainly is my findings of running bands / sounds over the years . Getting a good and balanced sound out front AND keeping everyone on stage happy? The solutions are out there and have been discussed to death on many forum pages. I try and keep it simple: 1 - Can we keep it basic and solve the "problem" with the equipment we have eg: use the volume controls / positions of all the amps / monitors / drummers? 2 - Have a specific rehearsal with all PA / backline in gigging positions etc to allow the sound person time to work on level setting / balance / monitor mixes etc. Easier if you have someone who is just doing sound but like me, when you're leading the band, running sound, lights, singing harmonies and playing bass it helps to have some of the issues covered prior to mid-song at a gig. 🙂 It also helps the band to use long leads and hear for themselves the difference between onstage and audience sounds. 3 - Having gone through the "reheasal process" get an agreement from EVERYONE that in future once the sound is set and you start playing the gig "NO FURTHER TWIDDLING IS ALLOWED" 🙂 🤣 .......but then what do I know, I'm only the bass player? 🤣🤣

Now with Pics! Shuker 3. Extended db type fret board 😱
Acebassmusic replied to MacDaddy's topic in Build Diaries
It's not often you see totally unique developments in the shape / ergonomics of a bass. Mr Shuker certainly does some extraordinary work. I think I would confuse myself silly trying to tune up mid gig....."just tweak the E a little....darn that's the D.....now the D which is really the E....or is it? 😕🤔🤣🤣" That is one wonderfully different instrument you have there, I hope you have fun playing it. -
Sorry to hear about the problems with the previous pre and its installation by sledgehammer! I've had OBP3 in several basses before and always found them to be a little dull / pillow over the strings sounding to me (even in the Roscoe I had ). It always felt like I had to push the treble a bit too much to get the sound for me. Glad the Glock works and thanks.....I now have GAS to try one 🙂
