Take 2 of your basses as examples. Toss a coin. Heads you sell bass a, tails it's bass b. If you're disappointed by the result of your coin toss your original idea has a pretty significant flaw! If not then I don't see anything wrong with having somebody else make your decision for you.

I learned to play initially with a pick and regretted it later. Couldn't play with my fingers at all. It took an extended break from playing - and not being able to find a pick around the house - to get me playing with fingers. Now I play 99% of the time with fingers (usually because I still can't find a pick around the house!)

Try not to picture Deputy Dog when watching that video. Bet you can't!

Sounds positive!

The slider caps on the Trace are worth half the current bid price alone. I'd take the lot if I was local... I do have hoarding tendencies though... Most of it would end up in the bin, but as parts it'd be a worthwhile purchase for somebody.

Had one of these at a time. Nice bass for the money.

I'm not a big fan of the Mendel myself. Never actually played a RW, but the classic 50 is head and shoulders above the Mendel for me, even given my preference for rosewood. Folks in the know prefer the RW to the classic 50s. Why oh why don't Fender do a 60s RW P?

Looks like it was nicked from the set of Stranger Things!

Pound for pound the best P I've played was my old Squier SQ! So I'd be adding SQ and JV Squiers to the list if it were me. Hands down the best P I've played was my friend's refinished '64 Fender. Beautiful. If I'd a grand to spend I'd be looking at a MIM RW P or a Limelight. If I'd a 2 grand to spend I'd be talking to Sander DeGier.

Brilliant! EDIT: Watch them all... Best thing I've watched in quite some time.

*flameproof pants on* Other than the BLX80, I've never played a Trace I liked. There, I said it. I've heard other people play through them and liked what I heard - really punchy - but when I played through them they felt weird...

Living in Norn Iron as I do, there didn't seem to be much chance to play one before buying until Black Coffee of this parish (who lives about 6 miles from me) put his ACG Graft 5 up for sale. Totally the wrong spec for me, but gave me an idea of the level of Alan's workmanship. I wasn't disappointed. I've had 3 now, and would still have 2 if I wasn't having a self-enforced clear out!

Earthquake... Laney Richter Nuclear... Behringer iNuke Neither fall into the "never need to buy another big amp ever" category but they're all I can think of based on the abundance of information!!!

No way I could have done that! Had to take at least a mm off the ones I fitted. It wouldn't put me off doing it again (have already been eyeing up the Thomann site today, but I'm in clearout mode and need to sell a few things to make some space and pay off recent acquisitions... and there's a Fiesta Red version due into Thomann end of the month so I'd like to see pics of that!) but I'd be better prepared next time... DREMEL!!!

Nothing to laugh at! Good solid basses. Chunky neck (and I mean CHUNKY!) but feels nice. Sounds spot on, but I'd change the electrics. Pickup was great (Wilkinson), but they've changed them now - reports are the Roswell ones are good too. Only issue I really had was the tuners felt like cheap rubbish, but if I'd known how big a hassle it was going to be fitting wilkinsons with the rubbish file I had to hand I would have stuck with the originals I think (tuner baseplate is a few mm too big)! Possibly just needed liberal application of lube to make the standard ones feel nicer... @discreet should be on commision from Thomann he's sold so many with his refurb pics!

How the hell have I not come across Soften The Glare until now?!?
Bigwan replied to Painy's topic in General Discussion
Ryan Martinie is a total monster of a player. I've listened to the Soften The Glare album a few times. Meh... Just not Mudvayne... I love watching him play though, I have to say. Think I've watched everything on youtube by now. -
I would also like feedback on said feedback...

Two Notes Le Bass (now with power supply!) **SOLD**
Bigwan replied to Bigwan's topic in Effects For Sale
From Two Notes: What power supply do I need for the Le Preamp series ? Solution If you wish to use a power adapter other than the one provided with your Le Preamp pedal, here are the specifications it will need to respect: Voltage: 9 or 12 V DC. The power supply needs to be Direct Current (DC), you cannot use an Alternating Current (AC) power supply. You have to use a regulated power supply. 12V is preferred, but 9V should work ok too. Expect a little loss of headroom at the output stage. Current: 500 mA or more. The Le Preamp series pedals use 500 mA of electric current. Any power supply delivering less than 500 mA will not be able to provide enough electric current and will not function, or may undergo some damages. A power supply delivering more than 500 mA can be used. Connector: 5.5 x 2.1 mm. This is the standard-size connector for effects pedals. Polarity: negative center. This is the most common type of polarity for effects pedals. So 9v/500mA will work fine if you have it.
