1.
FYI, I have just ordered a catalinbread pedal (montavillian) from Tone World, and they do free next day delivery and have a 7 day no fuss return policy, so potentially you could try it out and return it if it wasn't for you...

I also got my SFT from them, after 1st trying the JHS Low drive... cost me about £6 to send the JHS back (with insurance) It was worth it to satisfy my lustful curiosity about the pretty, seductive lil thing!... Sound didn't do it for me though, compared to the SFT. Tone World refunded the difference in price between the two pedals, directly to my bank account. They are very easy to deal with & very quick!
I may well give the tone world 7 day policy a whirl once some of my bits on here have sold. thanks guys!
  2.
I've got a YouTube clip of my first attempts Andy, can send link?
Defo post a link to it in this thread! I'd love to have a listen/watch
  3.
Does the album begin with the letter R?
followed by the letter A...?
  4. The sfx micro-h with a pair of Sennheiser HD-280 headphones is the best solution I've found yet for practicing against mp3s!
  5.
MXR M82 sold... EBS Unichorus left....
I love my unichorus, they're a great pedal!
  6.
Voila!
Yet another secret identity busted it seems?
  7.
Well this 7 string bass will be the baby of the bunch... the daddy being the 10 string bee. And as for the reverb... its something I use a lot of and it made sense to have it done to save carting pedals etc around! Can't wait to get my hands on this thing!
Same goes for my anticipation of my 6 string fretless Letts matey! How will the reverb work? What will it be?
  8.
Dur, it says it in the op you fool.

You're right, we are not american and burr is the proper speak. 12 hour days (11 spent on basschat ) Luckily working from home means i can work anytime.
I've corrected my spelling too
  9.
It'sa whole other beast to work with. I used 100 grams of super glue to get this 'unstabilized' bit where I wanted it. You have to wash it with glue for every pass of the thicknesser. Takes time, but worth it in the end.
It's going to look fantastic matey!
built in reverb?!
I saw that too, intriguing wot!? I'm guessing it's not the Rocktron cyborg that in the op sig!
  10.
Poplar burl. Does look a little birdseyeified.
It does indeed, poplar burr sounds like a much nicer name though! Anything burl sounds like something exciting though... (edited to remove Americanism - burl)
  11. Lookin good matey! Loving the birdseye
  12.
But you have some beautiful basses, Andy: Acg, for example, is one of my favourities basses...!
Ah, that would be my wish list matey (GAS list), I do have some lovely basses though and have owned most types over the years but never yet an ACG, one day though!
  13.
I've had both of these pedals. The SFT will give you a wide range of overdrive and tone shaping options. The Phat Phuk won't. The Phat Phuk is a great pedal - there is something magical about the tone coming out of it - but I got frustrated that the overdrive side of it was totally dependant on the level of signal coming into it. The control on the pedal is for the output level, not the input level. You can open the pedal up and adjust the bias so that it clips earlier or later, or run your bass thru a boost pedal before going into the Phat Phuk - but that seems extravagant.
Thanks matey, this is why I was wanting to meet them before handing over sums of money...I'm fairly sure I'll like the SFT but the PPb seems like a 'if it does what I want it'll be amazing but if not then I'll probably hate it' type pedal...
  14.
Tried the VT Bass? I reckon it will cop the Chelsea Dagger sound better than the others (I have all three).
Hadn't even thought of one of those dannybuoy! hhmmm, just had a quick look and they're not so small are they, I've got space on my board for a PPB and an SFT (cos they're litte!) but not really a VT and a PPB/SFT so unless it can do both sounds without me bending my back inbetween songs I think it's out
unhelpfully, i'd say go for them both, as once you use the phat B, I think you'll miss it if it's not there, but it's not an o/d pedal
Sadly I think you've got the answer there Mr GazWills!
  15.
is the bass for you, Andy.... !
I wish matey! Nostalgia doesn't pay for itself...sadly I have pmd dr.dave to see if he's still got mine and what happened to it though... Yours looks stunning, I hope it sells soon for you!
  16.
i'm pretty tied up with practises, gigs and recording for a while, so can't really help with a loan, but own a phat phuk and have used an SFT clone for a while so know them both pretty well. They are both completely different pedals though!! What are you wanting them for/to do, specifically?
Thanks matey I suppose what I'm looking for is probably a 'p-bass with rounds through a valve SVT' type sound if that makes sense? A bit like the intro to 'chelsea dagger' - I'm thinking that maybe the Phat Phuk B for this? ...and then I've got a few other songs that would benefit from a bit of grind without being fuzzed out, mild overdrive I suppose, just to thicken the sound up a bit, I've been using an EBS MultiDrive and it's been ok but a bit one dimensional, I'm wanting a little more warmth without any more drive...would the PPB do this? I'm thinking the SFT might do this?
  17. I'm thinking of getting a Wren & Cuff Phat Phuk B and/or Catalinbread SFT but I'm not sure if they'll do the job I'm wanting them for so I was wondering whether anyone had one I could try (either local to Sheffield or that they'd be willing to post for me to have a noodle with)? Ta
  18. I used to have one of these, might even have been a year 2000-ish, can't remember when exactly apart from it's when I was working at Trad Music and it was before they moved to the bigger shop on Kirkgate...Dr Dave bought it when I sold it, wonder if he's still got it...I'm getting all nostalgic!
  19. Mando-fun or you could do F# B E A and retain 4ths while still being crazy low...?
  20. Oh so tempting to try yet another avenue of bass...
  21. andydye

    ACG build

So exciting to watch something beautiful being made from rough timber!
  22. Knew I'd seen her somewhere before, another mindless telly thing I think it was...
  23.
A superb pedal with a superb price.....
Ta westie9!
  24.
Ohhhh, I may be interested in this! I'll see if I can't get rid of my ODB-3 and get back to you asap! Heard good things about this pedal!
Good luck on your sale matey, this is definitely a step up from the boss (that was my progression too)
