1. Could always do another but it has been done already. https://www.discogs.com/Jaco-Pastorius-Big-Band-Word-Of-Mouth-Revisited/release/1195972
2.
I'm sorry.
And so you should be. Shame on you. I like the music though.
3. Ooooo, that be a bit special, that be. Lucky man.
4. In my experience some flats will sound good on a bass some will not sound good on the same bass. I tried a set of TIs on my Overwater fretless and I wasn't at all happy with the tone. Put a set of La Bellas on that bass and it just came alive. TIs went on the ACG Finn and sound great on that. It might be an idea to try changing the strings between basses and see what happens.
5. If you don't mind the lack of body there's always the Hohner B2A and the Steinberger Spirit series. The Steinberger Synapse which usually sell used within your budget. Status Energy basses are used and you get a lot of bass for the money. The S3000 is wood body and the S4000 has a composite body.
6. It's always interesting watching people's builds but for some reason I'm finding this really exciting. Maybe because it is something completely different.
7. Super nice. Another good job from Chris. Enjoy playing it.
8. If that's the case it is more than likely an ESP. The control layout is identical to my B205.
9. I'm sure I remember Michael "Water of Tyne" saying he uses one.
10. My Overwater has a couple of small blemishes like that on the face. They were just filled and are just part of the character of the wood now. I wouldn't have it any other way.
11. He is very good. He used to post quite regularly but hasn't put anything up for a long time. Always worth waiting though.
12. Well, that's what feeler gauges are. The digits at the end of your hands. No?
13. ...and yes, Ibanez, Cort and ESP fivers do have closer string spacing. All made in the same factory I believe.
14. In my experience fivers do have a narrower spacing, anything from 16.5mm to 18mm. When I switched to five I had the same problem hitting the right string on 16.5mm spacing. Stick with it, you will soon adapt and you will never look back. Now I can transfer from 19mm on a four to 16.5mm on a five no problem.
15. That does seem quite low. If it feels OK to you and you aren't getting any buzzing then I would leave it. If it is buzzing then it might be an idea to put a thin shim under the nut.
16. The same piece of wood might also have different densities through its length. Depends how the tree it came from has grown.
17. ..and that is why a lot of manufacturers use multi-laminate necks. Each bit of wood expands and contracts at different rates.
18.
.............next subject.
Tonewoods.
19. If you want jazzy there is always Steve Swallow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zONFrcrZFs
20. I had this problem in acoustic setting once. Playing in a trad folk session with a cajon player. A lot of my notes on the DB were exactly the same frequency as his drum and I just couldn't hear my bass. Not much you can do in that setting but follow what's been said above. Also remember that every room you play in will be different acoustically so be prepared to change settings each time you play.

22. I like the way you just allow the middle bit to build to a crescendo at a good slow pace. The final section is just something I can immerse myself in. love that.
23. Love it. "I can't hear you talk cause your mouth's full of $£%&". Just about says it all.
24.
This link you have posted is just a discussion about the origins of the SGC Nanyo and not people posting their pride and joy.
Interesting, because I posted my pride and joy on that thread.
25. I think that program was actually quite important for music in this country. It lets the masses know that there is more available than just the manufactured stuff that Cowel and Co. produce. There is live music out there in your local area. We all know that as we are or have been involved in providing it but outside of forums like this people only see/hear what is presented on tele or radio or youtube.
