1. I'm sure this guy will clear the tone from your bass altogether.
2.
Badlycutnut - surely a great name for a band...
Did they not do the sig tune for that film About a Bass. Sorry couldn't resist. I'll leave now.

I don't use batteries, powered by voodoo lab. Interesting you get it with a passive bass.
4.
I think it was John Wetton I saw with Asia using a thumb pick, which might be handy as you don't have to hold it at all
John Wetton is a good example. I seem to remember reading an interview with him some years ago when he said his hands were buggered. Maybe he didn't use that word. I think he has no feeling in one of his hands. Still finds a way to play though.
5. You could also try going down the Gary Willis route. Use a much lighter picking action and turn your amp up. As has been suggested, the pick route with a glove on your left hand, as Scott Devine does, even though he has a completely different condition.

MS60b buzz

Here's what it sounds like. You'll probably hear it best with headphones. First is in the full board with no pedals switched on. https://soundcloud.c.../in-pedal-board Second is bass-pedal-recorder, pedal switched off. Thanks for the replies. I doubt it is a power supply problem. It is powered by a pedal power 4x4 using a current doubler. The other power supply on the board is a pedal power 2 plus. I'll try and record the offending sound tonight.

MS60b buzz

I have just completed my pedal board with a Zoom MS60b. Great pedal but I hear a low level buzz as if it is being overdriven. Not going to be noticible on a loader piece but on quieter stuff I can hear it clearly and it just annoys me. When I took the pedal out of the loop there is no buzz. The only way I can find to get rid of it is to lower the volume on the bass so much it is too quiet. Do any of you who use this pedal have any clues how this might be solved?
9.
I think want something that 'sings and growls'.
As you are in Essex why not pop along to Status in Colchester and have a word with Rob and Dawn. Video below gives an idea of the sound from my S2 fretless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UnhKyVahF4
10. You could try and look at your right hand technique and how you damp the strings after picking. Scott Devine as ever has a video on the subject. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDSAd29kJ0o
11. I can only speak from my own experience of both Yamaha and Ibanez basses but not these models. I have had a Yamaha TRB6II in the past and an Ibanez GWB35. What you will also have to consider are the neck dimensions and string spacing. Ibanez usually have 16.5mm spacing on their 5s whereas the string spacing on the TRB will probably be nearer 19mm. Ibanez have very thin necks, about 19mm at first fret. My Yamaha was deeper still.
12. Well that is 100% better than the last time he appeared on the show.
13. Very pretty. I do like the plain simplicity of an ash body.
14. Budget? I could recommend a Status S2/S3 fretless but that will set you back a lot. There's always a Fodera which would set you back even more. I also have an ESP LTD which came in a trade on here and that is wonderful.
15. I liked the timpanist. Applies to all drummers as well.
16. When did you last change the battery?
17. He is brainwashing us to believe this is a new thing. This could be applied to the 60s, 70s, 80s and,...well I lost interest after that. Holland Dozier and Holland, Chin and Chapman, Stock Aitkin and Waterman anyone. None of this is new. It's been happening since the beginning of pop music. Listen to Brian Mathews' Sounds of the Sixties and you will hear everything he has described in the video.
18. I had an Ibanez GWB35 for a while. I love Gary Willis' playing but I like to tune my fivers with a high C. It just did not suit it and I found I didn't get on with only one pickup. It is a shame cause it was a lovely bass. Swapped it for an ESP fiver and that gave me exactly what I wanted.

Sold

Very fine looking bass at a very fine price. Good luck with the sale.
20. Gode! That takes me back. Real spirit of 1977. Back then I was a big Genesis and Pink Floyd fan so I loved to hate this stuff. Now I'm a couple of years older it's actually quite good.
21. Pete has just received my ESP bass that he approached me to buy. Was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Prompt and regular communications with no fuss even when I spelt my name wrong in my email address. Thanks for the deal Pete and enjoy the bass.
22.
I've tried to give up I just don't have the strength
Who told you you don't have the strength? We all have that strength in us. It sometimes takes finding the right person or motivation to bring out that strength but it is there in all of us.
23. Nice vibe again.
24. I recently saw an add on another site headed "For sale custom S*****" The add then read "The bass is in Bucharest, Romania, I don t know how much to ask for... so hit me with any offers" That was it The thread just ended saying the bass was stolen and on it's way back to it's owner. Oh dear.
25. Nice work. Some lush sounds there.
