Mind you, it would be another 30 years before I realised it ...
this but not 30 years - anyone in the south east area remember listening to radio caroline? they used to play all american alien boy quite often in the late 70s and iirc thats the first time i heard jaco and then on the joni mitchell mingus album
I've never heard them actually. Thanks for the tip though. The plan was originally for a Pedal Steel, a Tuba, and just one guitar. The Steel player didn't have the time sadly. Oh, and it's a Trussart Steeltop.
oh why not we havent had it for a while and it would be rude not to http://youtu.be/N5QYijFfOaQ

Starting a band from scratch. Long, sorry...
The word rehearsals and professional band are like fish and bicycle . As soon as you hear regular weekly rehearsals you know you are going to end up dictating chords to a lazy guitarists, telling the drummer where to break and stop and what kind of beat to play. The singer wont have any equipment other than a old microphone, not even a lead. Those with a few years under the belt know that all learning is done at home to the record, no made up "improved" guitar solos and no made up drum fills. The band only needs to come together to break the mojo of gigging, the material is learnt at home to the record in two or three blocks. These are things that take 30 years to learn.
+1 -
As a wish list I would agree with most of it except the amp sizes. Bigger just looks cooler And wouldn't an ego free environment be amazing!
wow just imagine - guitarers with big amps AND keeping the volume down AND no egos ok so the volume thing is just wishful thinking i know but dont knock me please im having an optimistic five minutes here -
I dont think i need worry about talent scounts or paperrattzi just yet....sex before/after gig etc
just try and blag that youre the drummer - most of the audience wont have even noticed you playing the bass unless youve been jumping around tigger stylee -
music industry, like nature, abhors a vaccuum i fear that if we were to suddenly export Ms Sande to Uranus her place would swiftly be filled by some third-rate Nicki Minaj wannabee fresh from the casting couch of some ubiqitous lothario

steve-bbb replied to Paul S's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely fantastic stuff, chaps. Thanks a million. I just couldn't hear it, but now it makes sense. Gotta love Basschat!
hope those little snippets made sense - apart from the easily identifiable main riff based over an F minor those other runs sound quite exotic but once you see where they fall on the neck (mostly sort of pentatonic arpeggios) the rest of it all pretty much falls into place -
Jesus! Is this not THE WORST looking guitar you have ever seen? http://www.gak.co.uk...lack-onyx/77543
that surely MUST be the best bass for metal

People who randomly ask about your Basses!! (annoyed)

just pretend that you werent actually aware of its true collectable value and tell him hes unlucky because you just sold it two days ago to someone for (what turns out to be) a very knock down price -
How was your transition from 4 string to 5??
steve-bbb replied to TheGreek's topic in General Discussion
not liking 5 but ok with 6 as the 4 sit symmetrically inside it
