2. yogi sounds like an expert practitioner... ....of getting his head stuck up his own ar5e
 3. if truth be told there probably isnt a large household name company that hasnt resorted to 'morally dubious' business practices on occasion - if you were to try and boycott them youd probably need to be fulltime self employed researching the subject id imagine that the ones with top notch integrity are probably very few and far between
 4. just posted on facespace http://www.dv247.com/news/DV247%20Is%20Not%20In%20Administration/133450

 6.
I suspect she may have also have been driving around her local area too
i think some poor bloke gave her the car as a present and might now regret that decision
 7.
I cannot, it is about a girl and a car.... that is all I can say.
is she driving too fast by any chance?
 8.
we felt dirty, and every time you play it a puppy dies
go on ... say its name ...feed it's energy go on go on go on go on go on go on go on go on ....
 9. you could always try 'not planning' with all the criteria and variables listed in all the previous posts you could always just go random and see what happens - if somebody inappropriate shows up just be firm and polite and let them go you might even get lucky and spend less time and effort and hence get rehearsing and gigging sooner than you would have done with all the deliberation and procrastination
 10.
cheers y'all. so far in my 2 days of bassing I've learnt of the great divide betwixt traditional and modern basses. Who'd of thunk it? I went modern with an Ibby SR700. I likes it I does.
dont worry ... you'll soon want to get a J
 11.
I am just not quick enough to release it and use the pad again to play the seventh and hammer on to the octave so I kind of bar it instead
this is the issue that seems to be the main problem so why not specifically address this issue if you are trying to release and move a finger to next position and its getting there audibly late you need to concentrate on your thinking time concentrate a couple of notes before the rogue note and then make a concious effort to move it a fraction sooner thus making sure it arrives where it should right on the beat - its a combination of the thinking time and the physical reaction time and more practice will improve your playing overall in this respect - or you could just carry on doing it the lazy way (because it sounds ok) and continue enjoying the torment of your own frustration
 12. ASAM was a favourite of the caroline dj's back then
 13.
skills now there is an optional extra
i know of some seasoned old function band buffers who wouldl call 'busking from memory' an admirable band skill
 14.
Its always baffling when people cover songs & dont learn the original.
snot baffling at all we'll put our own flavour to this one usually means i/we havent got skill/patience to learn/play/rehearse it faithful to original
 15.
he guitarist wants to play it his way and refuses to listen to the recordings. Fine but he hasn't told me what his way is and we've only had 2 garage practices in 8 months.
sounds like you need a new guitarist as well maybe youll get lucky and get a singer turn up who says 'oh by the way i play guitar as well'
 16. plain uncluttered background in the video would be better too imho if you have to use a domestic interior backdrop make sure it isnt full of loads of tiny little details that will distract people edit - synchronystic posting going on here
 17.
This. In any case, bin the link and go wireless.
what ? and lose all my subtle analogue nuances!!
 18.
The best example is at 4:26 on the video, it's just a little connecting run that sounds so lovely and liquid and effortless. He does it slightly differently each time and it's things like that which set apart the really great nuanced players from the plodders and imitators. It's a bitch to get even close to sounding good, I emailed him about it but got no reply of course
its one of those licks that goes down in steps whilst going up at the same time - if the muse is with me i might fiddle with it later and post the tab once im finished fiddling and widdling
 19.
Awesome! I wish I could find Tempus Fugit isolated. There's a fabulous bit in there that I can't work out how he executed. Very weird.
which bit ?
 20. its all part of the BASSCHAT >>> PRATTCHAT syndrome it will pass in a few days

 23.
According to wikipedia ... " the persistent legend that the entire album was recorded in one pass is untrue"
there are some great masterpieces done in one pass as direct to disc masters where the recording has to be done in one continuous pass with no pauses and no correcting mistakes afterwards - Herbie Hancock's 'Piano' is (apparently not) a fine example of this edit - interesting article http://www.auldworks.com/AESDD/dd1.htm editedit - and here's one for JTUK .....
