1.
Difficult to imagine how loud it must have been. Townshend suffered severe hearing loss as a result of gigging, and at one point the Who were listed in the Guinness Book of Records for 'the loudest concert ever' at Charlton Athletic Football Club in 1976 where the volume level was measured at 126db - 32 metres from the stage...
I really want to go to an elevated train discotheque
 2.
http://www.amazon.co...c/dp/B0000CAPTX
nice one, cheers pal
 3.
Even his covers are bloody great Taken from the film "does humor belong in music" which is what first got me into FZ
this is an awesome version. loved this video but can't play it anymore as I no longer own a VCR.
 4. Thing with Zappa is he has such a massive body of work he still keeps surprising me. He's so diverse that if anyone tells me they never got into Zappa then there's a pretty good chance that there is something that will float their boat. Finally turned my big 'bro onto him at christmas after playing him Zoot Allures.
 5.
Main band member (vocals and guitar) said that he is moving away and can't rehearse every week any more. Not a problem, really, except that we had just managed to get ourselves ready to gig. Now, we shall practice once a month (at best) and before gigs. But in reality, that's it, isn't it? The band was good. We were all at the same level, no egos...it will take time to find this again.
Same thing has happened with one of my bands recently. It's a shame as we only rehearse one a month at most now and there is a distinct lack of energy. Feels like the end.
 6. Big fan of the uncomplicated simplicity of the 3-piece even though each instrument has to work harder. If i was to add a 4th member then it would be keys rather than a second guitar.
 7.
Anybody wanting to hear a mixture of Steve Hillage, Hawkwind and Gong should try The Magic Mushroom Band. No longer operating, but some nice people have put some of their stuff up on YouTube. Well worth an earhole.
I remember them. didn't they used to do something at the Crypt in Deptford?

 10.
I'm getting déja vu... ...I've had it before, though.
funny that, I had a premonition I was going to have déja vu
 11.
Aw go on then. Here's me in the old BC baseball shirt
think i prefer the baseball shirt
 12. War - Low Rider. For a promised jam next time I meet up with my bro'.
 13. i play in two bands that have very different approaches. one is drink free, good work ethic, get loads done. the other is a bit of a session, less disciplined but far more creative. some knid of balance between th two would be an ideal for me.
 14. Don't know there names, but the bloke who fronted the stranglers before they returned to a 4 piece and the guy from pete and the pirates. both total c*cks.
 15. ok. here is my modest set-up. not really a complete board as only half of it is attached to a board. just got the expression pedal for the bsy600 today after a recommendation from fumps. Liking how it sounds, but more in a space rock way rather than dub step.
 16. I tend to use the overdrive setting on my boss OC-3 super octave which has a blend control.
 17. I do all my own as it's my main business.
 18.
And Your Bird Can Sing.
+1 she said, she said is also a top one off Revolver. So many great tracks on there.
 19. Surprised no-one has suggested Rain. Would fit well in an "indie" set.
 20.
I bet he's a riot at parties.
tell me about it maybe it was their trousers.
