3. If anyone is in London tonight then you could do a lot worse than get yourselves down to the 12 Bar Club on Denmark street tonight. Guy Bailey (ex Quireboys) is on stage with his new band The Peckham Cowboys. I would be going myself to support Guy as he's my daughter's guitar teacher (shameful namedrop ) but alas I have a prior commitment to accompany said daughter to a gig in Shepards bush. 4. I can play with both fingers and a plectrum. I just happen to prefer the tighter, more percussive sound I get with a plectrum for the type of music I find myself playing.
5.
True! I had a Dyson that was held together with gaffer tape for a whole month until the new part turned up.
My bathroom tiles were held in place for several years with Gaffa. At least I chose white to match the tiles... jobs-a-goodun.

11. I heard a rumour that he used to put inaccuracies in on purpose to see who was plagiarising his work.
12. Rock Family Trees, I think.
13. Aww, gee, shucks...

15. Randy California's (Spirit) version of I Don't Want Nobody.
16. All the local bands that didn't have anyone to play bass. I was in instant demand.
17. Hooky's was one of them Hondo II fakers as was Foxton's.
18.
In verses & choruses I think gtr/bass/drums/vocs is fine. It`s in the solo that the song can really drop, instead of rise. Experiment with effects on the guitar, and also think of ad-libs/runs on the bass that can fit in. Additionally, the drummer, simply by changing from one cymbal to another, or from toms to cymbals, can really change the dynamics.
Or... don't try to keep it "rocking" during the lead solo. go for a solid rhythm section groove and give space to the lead break.
19. Less is more IMO
20. Totally agree with putting the bass down, even going into another room and listen while the rest of the band are going through the song. Get the bass pattern in your head without thinking about notes, then go back in and play what's in your head.
21. It may be obvious, but for me it goes hand in hand with that the drummer is doing. Get the groove going with the drums first then build on the "riff". I tend to think of combining the major scale with the relative minor.
22. Have to admit I miss the like button. I found it a simpler way of affirming agreement whilst keeping the thread tidy and compact.
23.
Southern Man?
Ahh! beat me to it.
24.
If you're saying that your health is such that you _could_ in fact do something, but that your fear for a health deterioration holds you back, then you are simply wrong. Even in periods of relatively deep depression, you can fight and you can even win. The fight itself _will_ help you. It will give you some health back (even if only temporary, this is too valuable to miss out on) and last but not least, at any rate it will help on your self esteem greatly.
totally agree
