1. I see the nice piece of negative feedback there...good one. Surely anyone checking him out will see the negative feedback, see the date posted, see the date the amp is listed and put 2 + 2 together?....hope so!
2.
^ This ^
Ditto!
3.
hi im in crosshill near the entrance to lochore meadows country park youre welcome to come and try it out and the wife will put the kettle on . john
Cool, am busy working and gigging this week, but might just pop through if you still have it next week. Not a million miles away from you this friday...playing in Cowdenbeath!
4.
Thank you all so much for your positive and kind comments. This really is the place to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have taken on board everything that has been said and I will certainly be looking forward to the next one in two weeks. By that time I should be better and have more confidence to play more than roots. thank you, thank you
Confidence is a massive thing.......I'm always nervous till be are half a dozen tunes in, then I can relax more and get more into the groove. All good after that.
5. Fine looking bass.....If I had the cash I would be very tempted. Whereabouts are you in Fife?, may not want be able to afford the bass....but can have the coffee!
6. Played at a Beer Festival in Carnoustie at the weekend up past Dundee. Wasn't sure how busy it would be, but was absolutely rammed! Very positive feedback from owner and punters alike....and some guy was watching me like a hawk while playing Plug In Baby...and then came up to me and complimented me on it (which was nice). Free booze, bed for the night and cooked breakfast thrown in.....mustn't grumble. All in all.......much fabness.
7. We never gig anything unless we are confident enough that it is good enough to be played in public. Normally within a couple of plays in the studio we know whether it is a goer or not, sometimes a song is done and dusted within a couple of takes, others take a couple of weeks. But if something just doesn't feel right we just let it go. We would rather concentrate the time and effort on workable songs rather than spend weeks or more getting something half decent!
8.
Enjoy yourself and things will just get easier as time goes on and your confidence grows , I used to stand at the back trying not to be seen and now I am up front and loving it !
Yup..same here!
If you`ve learned 40+ songs in two weeks, for your first gig, I think you should be offering advice Seriously, whatever method you used, it seems to have worked, so stick at it, and remember it`s all for fun.
I'm with Lozz on that!

Spectors?!

I used to play my Jazz all the time....till I discovered Spector. I have the Legend 4 and, if you like the slim neck of a jazz...this seems even thinner! Plays superbly, I never used to bother with actives as I couldn't be arsed with the whole battery issue....but.....it is worth it. The range of the bass boost and tone are brilliant on it......so much so....I have a back up incase it has to go and be repaired for any reason! Seriously...I have never heard a bad word about them, they are affordable and give so much scope playing wise. Well worth getting one.
10.
I got out the 3" grinder this time instead of the 9" so I didn't make such a hash with it this time.
Quality
11. Just basically doing the same with an ordinary bass, but in a different position! But, any wee tricks and hints always welcome. Thanks for the chat Kevin....you're a star! Shall be perusing the other threads on here relating to basics as well, cheers.
12. Got to agree Years ago when I never played bass, I never really noticed the bass lines Then, one day, after learning somewhat.....found it on youtube and WOW!!
13. I had been thinking of trying an electric upright....so, rightly or wrongly I managed to get the Stagg 3/4 EUB. So....as I am new to the whole upright playing shenanigans.... can anyone give me any rights or wrongs, do's or don'ts, or even any tips that would help my technique?
14. Fab......hope it all goes well. Onwards and upwards!
15. He is a fantastic player.......It could well be that people knock him because they are jealous of him and wish they could play as good as him! I certainly wish I could!
16. Last year we aquired a new singer....this year, a new guitarist. Twas the new guitarists debut on saturday night, and the evening ended as thus!
17. Now, I'm a big Muse fan.....but they have had their fair share of dross over the last couple of albums. I'm hearing snippets of various past numbers of theirs in there. It'll probably be a grower though as I've only listened to it once. Can't even ignore the song as the wife will play it non stop no doubt as she is an even bigger fan! I'm just more miffed at the price of the concert ticket for the forthcoming tour!
18. I've had similar emails also. Tend to ignore them though Also, even though I put *local collection only*, I still get people from the other end of the country wondering if I can drop off....I mean....WTF!!
19. Yup....double thumbs up for the G30. I've had one for a while now and I think it's great. No cable to stand on, freedom of movement onstage, take a wander at soundcheck....all winners Clarity is really good,.................. just make sure you have spare batteries! I would fully recommend it.
20. If it's just a full on rock kinda gig, we start with Queen's fast rock version of We Will Rock You, or in more recent times the Foo's Arlandria.
21. My missus just walked into the room thinking I had had a stroke...not realising I was playing the afformentioned youtube clip and not actually playing myself!
22. I got my Stingray, played it at a couple of gigs, just couldn't really settle with it. Playing it at home and it sounds and feels great, live on stage it just doesn't sit quite right....must be me!! So I still end up picking up my Jazz/precision/spector....whichever I fancy that day!!
