1.
Thanks for the opinions guys. That combo sounds Ibanez combo sounds interesting not sure if it's my bag though.
I appreciate that, I wasn't sure about it, but pulled the trigger anyway, change in lifestyle forced the decision. I've been nothing but amazed since though. WoT is a big fan of these little buggers too. If you are looking for one, I'd suggest you try one out first just to be sure, if you can make it over to South Croydon/Sanderstead way, you're more than welcome to try mine. There are a few other combos out there that might meet similar criteria, Tecamp's Puma Combo 110 might do it if you can get hold of one, but the head ain't removable, and there's the new Ashdown MiBass Combos which have a removable head too, but I think they're kinda pricey for what they are.
Surprised to hear that on the Barefaced though.
I've heard similar, mixed reviews of some of the earlier designs, but the newer 12" based cabs seem to get nothing but good feedback, still not convinced about the build quality but man alive, do I love the look of the more retro styled ones Eude
2. When I moved down to London, I sold up and bought an Ibanez P5110 Combo, perfect for low level practice, as it's really very small, plus the headphone out and aux in are very useful, it puts out more than enough volume on its own to keep up with a drummer at rehearsals, and small gigs - assuming you're not in a metal band, can be used for very effective on stage monitoring when there's PA support to be had, you can hook it up to an 8 Ohm cab to get the full 500W out of it and if all else fails, you can pop the head out and fire it through 2 big cabs. I finally got my hands on an EAD Foundation 112 cab for when needs must, too good to let it slip by, but for 99% of the time, the combo by itself is perfect. I have a love/hate relationship with 10" speakers, much prefer the natural low end of a 12" speaker, but whenever I get close to parting ways with this little combo, there's nothing that can really compare for my needs right now. By the sounds of it, it would suit you too. Might be worth considering one if you can find one, or perhaps something similar?... Eude
3. Nice, love the bound fingerboard Eude

That's a real shame! I was actually considering maybe swapping my older version for the new one, even though its not as powerful, the eq section is a lot more along the lines of what I prefer, not a huge fan of graphic EQs... Might hang fire for a bit me thinks.
5.
Thanks matey, it's a keeper that's for sure! Not even sure if I need another ACG, maybe a bolt on 5'er with Black Limba body and some pleasing facing wood, 2 humbuckers and the preamp of doom...mmm that sounds like fun! Thanks matey, I was gobsmacked when I tried it in the mix, these are seriously amazing pieces of kit!
I told you! I can't recommend ACG basses enough, I know some folks might want something a little more traditional looking, and now there's a couple of more trad shapes available now, and with the Graft range you can be even more trad if you want. It's a one stop GAS shop! Eude
6.
Hiya matey, I've had a couple of hours with it now and I can honestly say it's superb, solo it has a poise and clarity I've not known in a bass before and in the mix it has sufficient low and low mid impetus to power through in a classic rock style or mix in a bit of bridge pup and you've got fingerstyle funk but with more guts than any other bass I've had. Bridge pup only gives a superb solid quack. It's heavy but beautifully balanced so that despite playing standing for a while my shoulder is fine and dandy! Its weight also translates into a real feeling of substance, in that, it feels real in your hand, not some pansy necked lightweight balsa nasty, but a glorious marriage of pieces of wood! I'm sold. The preamp is the dogs b€£&€$&s too, and with the pups, provides a vast array of possible tones, I played everything from abba, Jackson 5, wham, Texas, bad company, Steppenwolf, queen, Paul Simon, journey, mika, the fratellis, Whitney Houston and van Halen this evening and with a flick of a knob or two I got each bass sound close enough that it sat right in each track, mid peaks in the right places, everything! Well impressed!!
That's awesome mate! My experience of ACGs is that they have a lot more guts too and the bridge pickup solo'd always sounds surprisingly full and punchy! Nice Eude
7.
I've never owned a Peavey at any point in my career...
Give it time, give it time...
8. Hey man, how you getting on with the new bass? It's an absolute peach! (sorry, no new pics from me, was up a ladder painting ceilings all weekend, was dark before I got down, on Saturday and Sunday , maybe next weekend...) Eude
9. Fantastic news dude! Peavey amps are amazing, everyone owns a Peavey some point in their career. I used to have a 600W 2 x 4x10 Peavey stack back in the day, they don't make them light but they make them very very solid and that barky aggressive tone is always marvelous, even they're little practice amps sound good! Cheers, Eude
10. Very nice dude
11. Congrats matey! Can't wait to hear how you get on I intend to take some reasonable pics of my ACG family this weekend, assuming the light is OK, we all expect you to do something similar Eude
12. Ah, so you're the lucky guy! Congrats dude, that's one hell of a bass! Eude
13. Still no pics of this little rig?...
14. If you can find the other £50, this would be worth every single penny >> http://www.gak.co.uk/en/peavey-tour-tko-bass-combo/26236 Easy enough to move around by yourself, it'll fit in a corsa and it will be VERY loud when compared to the competition, Peavey Watts tend to be a lot louder than regular ones... Eude

ACG build

Hubba hubba!
16. Bump for an amazing bass, its a shame you're selling it, but it's a great opportunity for someone else to get their hands on a brilliant example of ACG basses, at a very keen price too, if I had the money I'd have it off you!
17. and the 26 frets...
18.
It's just gorgeous, such understated class to it! I've just dealt with the invoice so it should be shipped Thursday for a Friday delivery
Splendid! Eude
19.
thanks matey, pics indeedy will be provided when we are reunited via the medium of courier service (probably the end of this week)...
Fantastic! We'll be the only folks with Ziracote topped ACGs, as far as I'm aware Eude
20.
I went to visit Alan last week and nr 0100 is coming to live in my house! http://www.acguitars...k/Available/19/
Fantastic mate! Really chuffed for you! Remember though, pics or it never happened... Eude
21.
There is plenty of debate over these modules. I think the key is that GBenz really know how to make a module give its all with clever technology and cooling methods. I would be quite interested to see the 900 watt GB amps tested. The Streamliner is an absolute volume hammer though.
That's a good point mate, I don't ever recall folks complaining about the GB's being too quiet, maybe Fender don't know what they're doing, or perhaps they borrowed the means to test wattage off Peavey... Eude
22. For what it's worth, I've heard that the power stage in the Fender Rumble 350 is identical to the one in the Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. Fender rate it at 350W, GB at 600W... Eude
23. You could go for an Ibanez Promethean combo (the older style one, the new one is only 300W without the removable head, or one of the HB or Red Sub ones, if you don't mind slumming it ... Small foot print, very small in the case of the Ibby, 500W removable head, 8 Ohm speaker out. Loud enough for small gigs on its own and for on stage monitoring for anything bigger with PA support. There's also the MiBass 220 with their Mi10 cab, would have a similar footprint to the Promethean. Heard wonderful things about the Ashdown MiBass kit. There's always one of these too >> http://www.markbass.it/product_detail.php?id=86 EBS Reidmar with one of the EBS 1x10 NEO Cabs? Oh, and there's a few Phil Jones combos which might be interesting, although they're all a bit quiet, more intended for an acoustic environment, and may be a little hifi sounding. Eude
24. Very nice dude
25. That is an absolute peach mate
