My Shuker build
have to agree with Eude here, my 2nd shuker took around 18 months to complete, and i did towards the end get a bit miffed, to Jon's credit he recognised this and knocked a bit off the final balance
See? Told you Jon's a diamond geezer Custom basses take as long as they take, I 'spose we should remember that from time to time. Eude
If I'm not mistaken Ant's been fully paid up for over a year .
Sorry, that wasn't speculation on Ant's situation, just based on my own lack of financial sense. I can't save, I'm just not built for it... Eude

    My Shuker build
23+ months. That is epic! By that calculation I can expect mine to be finished by Christmas.
Yeah, I'd be pretty miffed by now to be honest, unless I'd been struggling to get together the balance on the bass. Bare in mind, Fodera's average build time is about 2 years... I ended up pushing pretty hard with my Pub Bass to get it in a little under 12 months. I guess with Jon being so genuinely good natured and helpful means that he'll end up giving in a little if someone won't leave him alone, which will obviously impact on those who leave him to it. Regardless of all that though, I'm sure Ant's bass will be fantastic and well worth the wait! Eude

Hey man, did this bass ever get finished?... Eude
  5.
It's here... :brow:
Congrats Si! Eude
  6.
The new web design should allow for morre of that sort of thing. Mine's a custom so the Ergon is on the site but my specs are individual. I think they plan a "basses we've done" bit Basically you can have any body shape they do (the named basses) but with mods and changes. Mine has a few extra curves
That'll be cool Si, looking forward to seeing it. I've always thought of W&T to be a bit of an Italian Fodera, guess the shoe fits Eude
  7.
ha ha Yeah You'll be excited to know "an update is imminent". Meanwhile, in my own particular Pawn Shop, they certainly know how to do an attractive heel ....
Thanks for the update Si. It just annoying to know that there's other W&T basses out there that I can't see. I obviously catch all the ones that come through here or Bass Direct, but I'll bet there's a whole lot more. Your own particular entry is looking fantastic too, real understated class Eude
  8. Si, when you next speak to the W&T boyos, can you please ask them to update their website? Some of us bass porn users need a dose a little more regularly than they're providing... Eude
  9. That looks brilliant! You can already tell how fun it's going to be to play from that last piccie Top Work! Eude
  10.
That's nearly as lurid as one of Waynepunkdude's custom paint jobs You're not going to be able to shy into the back of the stage when playing that one. Looking fab already.
I concur, it's a cracking looking bass so far! I really love Jon's downsized take on the Jazz Bass shape, I reckon it's near enough perfect! Makes me miss my ol' Shuker J a little too You must be right excited! Eude
  11. Gorgeous Bass Si! Those boys out in Italy really know what they're doing don't they... You must be chuffed Eude
  12.
another pre-neck fitting update - the headstock is completed, I love these frequent updates
Hot Damn Steve! You do know I'm probably going to eat that fingerboard if I ever see it in the flesh - it looks like marbled chocolate cake! Can't wait to see the bass when it's complete Eude
  13. Congrats dude. Glad someone had the sense to snap this up! Cheers, Eude
  14. Nice one Steve! Can you contain your excitement? It's going to be a beauty. Eude
  15. Bump from me too. If I had got off my a**e and sold my LittleMark250 by now, I'd have taken this off you in a second! If it's still around in a couple of weeks or so I'll be knocking on your door matey Eude
  16. I say go for it You've found a bass that feels perfect, that's half the battle. It doesn't make the sound you want and you've not had any luck selling it, so why not mod it? Best of luck with the project mate, looking forward to watching it develop. Eude
  17.
Today is a good day!! My Clement #177 is complete!! Just have to wait for her to cross the pond into my waiting hands!!
Congrats mate, that's a beaut! This is gonna be the worst bit of the wait I guess... It'll be with you soon though Eude
  18.
I've seen them go for £100, but some have priced them much lower at around £80.
Thanks man, that's roughly what I was thinking Now to give it a clean and get it up on the for sale board. Cheers, Eude
  19. Hey guys, I'm hoping to shift my Sansamp Bass Driver DI to fund a nice simple DI box. It's the original model, a little over 10 years old, but in good nic, with the original box and instructions. This ain't my one, but gives an idea of how it compares to the newer model with more switches. I'll get a pic of my own one sorted for the sale thread. Anyone got any idea of the value before I punt it up for sale?... Thanks in advance for your help you lot Eude
  20.
ah...had a feeling you were going to get an ACG......Nice, looks like a really well thought out sensible spec
Thanks dude It's been a long on going spec and build, wanted to get the best setup for what I do everyday, without too much messing about The Bloodwood fingerboard is a bit of an extravagance, was originally going to be Rosewood, but it just spoke to me on one of my many visits to to annoy Alan, so I just had to go with it. It was that or some crazy figured Mango, that might make an appearance at a later date though... Cheers, Eude
  21. Congrats mate - that looks amazing! You must be over the moon with your bass What's all the controls? Looks right different from my Shuker Preamp... Eude
  22.
If for any reason I can't get a guarantee claim on my Monster lead then I fully intend on doing business with our own OBBM for a replacement quality lead.
+1 Can't recommend Dave's stuff enough Eude
  23.
Sounds fascinating, and I'd love to see what results you get. The problem I foresee is that - if you do discover a difference - knowing whether it's audible or not.
I guess a lot of it will be inaudible, if there is a difference. Should be able to work out what is and isn't though via the powers of google and/or wikipedia. Will keep you posted... On a side note, I can't fault the build quality of Monster Cables, that is worth a little extra cash at least. Eude
  24.
I just tried a quick A/B test on two cables I have. One is 20ft; the other is 4ft. The plugs and cable are identical. The resistance of the longer one is therefore *five times* that of the shorter one. I listened specifically for differences in volume. There may have been one but I couldn't hear it. The input LEDs on my preamp lit up to exactly the same level, too. Mmmmm.
Think the only true way to test the theory would be to use a Spectrum Analysier and get some screen shots for comparison, think there's one in Logic. I might be doing some recording tonight, so if there's time, I'll see if there is a difference. My new ACG has Neutrik locking jack, not head anything about Monster cables damaging them, so I'll give it a go this once. Cheers, Eude
  25. I'd love to just have one of these and nowt else! I've been running my LittleMark flat for a wee while now, so a nice light and loud power amp like this would be perfect! Bet it'll be a pricey number though... Eude
