1. I'd like to thank Alan, Dave, Peter for such a successful and thoroughly enjoyable event and everyone else who turned up and made into a really special occasion. Mix in an excellent curry, too many beers and very little sleep and you've got the makings of an excellent weekend, nevermind the basses... As everyone has been saying, the amount, variety and quality of gear that everyone brought along was astonishing, but the real bell of the ball was Alan's 33" Chambered Skelf, although I'd have strung it B to C Closely followed by Alan's (niceguyhomer) Shuker 5 string, Matt's Starfire (get some flats on that thing!), Peter's ACG Harlot SC and Dave's Beheaded Harlot all in joint 2nd.
That rig in the last pic was a beauty,if I did not have the Dr Bass and the F500 I would be off buying that it was the stand out rig for me on the day.
Alan (again) had the nicest rig there, to my ears. The sound of that Aguilar head through the GS112 was just incredible, and the addition of the drive channel has basically made me realise, that I certainly don't need to replace my GS112, I just need another one and I need to shift the MarkBass head for an Aguilar one - job done. Don't suppose you've reconsidered swapping Alan? No?.... So thanks to all and bring on the next one ASAP! Eude
 2.
+1 OBBM... you'll find you may get one or two more recommendations for our Dave before your thread dies out.
+1 Eude
 3.
Haha, sorry mate, but I haven't gone THAT crazy...yet!
Worth a try... Cheers, Eude
 4. Arrrgggghh! This is my dream rig! Not in any position to make an offer at the moment though - dang Unless you've lost your mind and wouldn't mind straight swapping for a LittleMark250 and a GS112?.... Good luck with the sale mate! Eude
 5. Nice I'm really intrigued with trying a passive again, was never that impressed, but I've never really messed with a quality passive bass. Maybe something for the future... Eude
 6.
Haha yeah, it's a cake, not a bass! But yeah, I am getting his shape not the traditional one. Just because of the pictures of that blue one, that's up for sale again here, looks a bit rounder.
Nice one I got mine done in a slab finish, just personal preference, reckon it can be as curvy as you want it. Eude
 7. Oh, and are you going for the downsized J Bass body? It's really nice, dinky, comfy and still balanced, worth thinking about... Eude
 8. That's gonna be a cool bass Adam. Glad you went for the matching headstock, really makes the bass stand out. Eude
 9.
It was that or pink! Haha.
Each to their own I guess You going with a matching headstock too? Always thinks it adds that little bit more class to a fenderesque bass. You certainly won't be disappointed with Jon's work though, the stealthy J Bass I recently let go was the best Jazz Bass I'd ever played, and was certainly the sexiest bass I've ever owned, was sad to see it go. Unfortunately, the Jazz Bass sound just ain't me, perhaps if I'd gone with a Precision pickup and a MM at the bridge things would've turned out differently... Eude
 10. Sounds like a great spec there mate! What's with the orange though?... Eude
 11. I recently was lucky to have a shot of funkle's Laklands, both Skylines I believe, one Daryl Jones 4 string and one 44-02 (with a lovely Swamp Ash body). The Daryl Jones was a bit heavier and passive, and the 44-02 was active and very very light. Both where strung through the body and seemed incredibly resonant and lively, especially the 44-02. The DJ produced, well, Jazz Bass sounds, as you'd expect. The 44-02 was an incredibly versatile beast which could get pretty close to a Jazz Bass when you go passive and coil tap the MM pickup and could go all the way over to a full on Musicman sound in full active with the MM pickup soloed. Both basses where very easy to play and oozed quality and attention to detail. All I can really say is that, if you're looking at basses in this price range, I would certainly give a Lakland a go too. Cheers, Eude
 12.
shuker gas is infectious
I've already been Shuker'd, twice! Eude

You 'orrible lot are not doing my GAS much good! I'm really digging P Basses at the minute, please please stop! Eude
 14. Hot damn, another nice sounding ACG! I'm a very jealous Eude... Love the idea of using really interesting wood to create a slightly less "boutique" looking bass. This is gonna be a corker Cheers, Eude
 15. That's a sweet looking bass mate! Really love what Jon did with your pickup cover/ramp, very creative and still nice and subtle. That's cheap for a bass though, I'm sure I paid over a grand for my 6er, if only I'd known I could've paid in Hobnobs... Congrats mate and looking forward to some better pics. Cheers, Eude
 16. Oh, and there's always Sandberg >> http://www.sandberg-guitars.de/basscat-overview/calj-series They also do custom jobs, for not much more, assuming they're just mods. dontcarebear on here has one and loves it to bits! Eude
 17. Looks very nice in this finish too >> http://www.mayones.com/en/katalog/jabba/jabba_classic_MBLKG
 18. Hey Pete, how you about this? http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...BA_4_white.html It's got 24 frets, but looks like you'd only be able to reach 21 of them comfortably... Nice looking bass though! Hope you're well dude. Eude
 19.
Looks great. I cant wait for mine to arrive! (saturday) im already speccing up the next one! Bubinga core, 6 or 7 string, buckeye burl front/back/headstock and spalt maple neck all on a ghallus... am i the only one drooling?
Wow that's a beast of a spec dude! Eude
 20. Awesome mate! That looks gorgeous! (a very jealous) Eude
 21. Just wanted to give you a bump and say that this Finn is one of the most comfy basses I've ever played I had the pleasure of trying this bass when Alan just finished it and it was so freakin' lightweight and the range of sounds available is enormous! The Piezo tone is phenonomal and is so well matched to the ACG Pre. If I wasn't so skint I'd have this bass off you in a second mate. Good luck with the sale Oh, and your pics are pretty good akshully Eude
 22. Awesome
Update! The time to put down a deposit is almost here! I'm ordering this through Bass Direct, so Mark, Enrico and I are just going to consolidate and complete the final specs before I put down my cash. The specs thus far have not changed much but I've added what extra info we've got. At present the current Estimated Time of Completion is Christmas provided payment is sorted in the next few weeks. I can now reveal that this bass will incorporate a 3 octave unlined ebony fingerboard, as inspired by the awesome bass that is the Zon Hyperbass. Enrico has spent some time working on a modified version of the Zoid bodyshape to accommodate the extreme extended range that this bass will have. In combination with the semihollow bubinga body, and the fantastic wood combinations of this bass, it's going to be amazing! I'll keep BC informed as soon as I know more details. Mark
23.
The new rockbasses will be even better, with 2 piece bridge and cleaner headstock. ... but he want a 'sweetspot' bass, a-la musicman Maybe the rockbass $$!
That sounds like a plan I'd hold tight for a Rockbass $$ - any ETA on those? Eude
