1.
At the recent McBash in Moffat, we were A/Bing different cabs and heads - there was a load of different stuff including Markbass, EA, TC Electronics and a Barefaced Compact. I don't mean to blow my own trumpet but at the end of the day, everyone was blown away with my rig (AG500 + one GS112). That said, each to his own but the GS112 is an amazing cab especially with the right head.
I'll second that Your AG500 with a single GS112 sounded incredible! Rekindled my love for my own GS112 before I did anything silly too. Eude
 2. I've found APC Overnight to be the cheapest and most honest/reliable in my experience. Had consistently rotten experiences with most of the "big boys", UPS, Parcel Force, TNT, DHL etc... personally and at my work too! Cheers, Eude

I'm a big fan of slab bodies. Spec'd that on both the Shukers I ordered. Love the all white idea too! It's gonna be a peach of a bass... Eude
 4. Looking good! Another Shuker P5... I'm having a bit of GAS for Precisions at the moment. Bet you're counting the days Eude
 5.
Sweet, you are more than likely on the same circuit as me then so I would guess we have reasonably similar sounding basses! However, the last thing I need is to be playing an expensive head I'll like too much I'm supposed to be moving into a new apartment in between xmas and new year!!! Dont spose you would happen to have any recordings of your bass through these cabs?
Hey man, sorry, not got any recordings Eude
 6.
They were switchable Dual Coils. I'm not slagging them off - they may be good pick ups but they didn't give me the sound I like with this particular bass.
I would've loved to have heard the comparison... I'd always rated Nordstrand highly, based purely on what I'd read or been told, but having heard how good this bass sounds, if I was looking for custom pickups or replacements, I'd be knocking on Wizard's door first (god I hope "Wizard's Door" isn't a euphemism for anything horrible, I'd best check the Viz Profanisaurus...) Cheers, Eude
 7.
If anyone wants a listen in Edinburgh i'm free on Sunday. My Matamp cab won't be here 'til Monday though. Its a 900W, 4 ohm one... should be loud enough.
Hey man, Can I drop you a PM over the weekend? Not sure what I'm up to yet, but would love to try your head out! I can bring along my Aguilar GS112 cab too. Cheers, Eude
 8. Hey Homer, glad you're still loving the Shuker. Having a go of this beautiful instrument was one of the highlights of the Moffat Bash for me (that and your loverly rig). It's just an incredibly articulate and full sounding bass, and seemed to get so much more out of the Shuker preamp too! You've got me thinking about maybe trying some Wizards in my own Shuker now!... Cheers, Eude
 9.
This is gooooooood I think theres a good chance I will be ordering should I find a way to visit Mr Homer or somewhere that stocks them! Eude, what circuit is in your bass?
It's the Shuker 3 band effort, 18V with internal gain and mid pot. It was his standard one from 2007, possibly the mk2 or mk3 version, I think. I know he's on to mk4 now though... I know you'll like the GS cabs mate, but best to try them first, to be safe. You'll fall in love with Homer's Aguilar head too by the way, it's incredible! Cheers, Eude
 10.
There was a time when Ashdown stuff used to look cool & well-built. Now it just looks.. cheap. IMO. Obviously.
I know what you mean, none of these amps have the class look of those old chrome fronted ABM amps they did a while back The BTA ones look quite "muckle" though Cheers, Eude
 11. I'm a huge fan of the GS112 cabs. I've just got the one and a LittleMark 250, the weedy cousin of the LittleMark, and I've used this combination, just like homer, for gigs of up to about 100 folks. Anything bigger, there's usually always a PA, so in that case I only use it for stage monitoring. To me the GS cabs are perfect, as it's been said before, light enough to carry in one hand but solid enough to have every confidence in them. There is a little bit of a mid scoop, which in my experience becomes more pronounced at volume, with one cab anyway, but you can make adjustments for that easy enough, and in my case, my bass is very very mid heavy anyway To my ear, they're quite an aggressive sounding cab, could be my bass and my ham-fisted playing though. The speaker handles everything I've thrown at it with my 6 string Shuker and it replicates everything very evenly across the whole range. The off axis response isn't too bad either, at least compared to a lot of other setups I've used. It's also great for a mobile/practice set up. All in, it's an amazing little cab. I had been itching to change recently, but I've thankfully fallen in love with it all over again before doing anything silly. It'll be the amp that'll be changing, and I'll be adding a second GS112... Can't recommend 'em enough matey Eude
 12. Man I'd love one of those Little Bastards too! I've been keeping my eye out for a Trace Twin Valve for ages, but never found one at an "affordable price"... Wonder how much it'll cost? Might actually be a useful gigging amp for me as I'm using a 150W of Class D at the moment and from my, albeit limited, experience of all valve amps, 1W of valves is worth a truck load more than 1W of solid state power... I wonder if they're gonna do anything new or different with their cabs? They haven't really entered into the light(ish) single 12" cab market at all... I'll be watching this thread excitedly... Cheers, Eude
 13.
I think i've seen one for sale at live music on Wed, eude.
Cool, I need to get some strings at the weekend, so I might pop in and see if I can have a go Eude
 14.
Okay, BRIEF update from last night's rehearsal. By GOD it is loud! This thing is a total monster, and is really giving my cab something to think about. I could be heard comfortably at 1/10 on the master, active button ON (even though it's a passive bass) and gain at 12 o'clock. FAB. Cheers, James
This is sounding better and better mate, or should that be louder and louder... I think I'm going to have to make a move on one of these before Christmas! Cheers, Eude
 15.
I've reviewed mine in the reviews section. Loves it, I does.
Was a good review dude, much appreciated. Don't suppose you've used any MarkBass gear? Would like to know how it compares to the likes of a LittleMark... Eude
 16.
I am getting mines tomorrow, if dpd are early enough! I think i will be putting it through its paces with fellow BCers. Might conduct a review for y'all.
Can't wait to hear how you get on matey! If you want to try it through an Aguilar GS112 give me a shout. Cheers, Eude
 17. Hey dude, When I shipped my big ol' Trace Elliot Combo to basschat's very own Deep Thought, I couldn't find a suitable box either. I ended up making one round the cab itself. I bought some sheets of dense polystyrene, covered the cab in that first, with a fair bit of parcel tape to hold it together, then wrapped it up in sheets thick cardboard, sealed up with a bit more tape and it was good to go. I also, wanted to make sure the combo was easy enough to move around, so I left small gaps for access to the sprung loaded handles. Hope that's of some use matey Eude
 18.
I found the Pre-tube really hard to push on the 9, even when I followed the guidelines off talkbass and used an active hotter input bass. I got some grit, but not enough for me. On the other hand I've heard the tube tone on the rh450 works very well, and it's inherently warm anyway. All these micro heads are very clever, but I must admit some of them are too clinical for me. Then again I'm used to the insane sound my orange has so I think I'm always going to like the more rock orientated amps. The lm3 is pure brilliance and does warm/quick/precise really well.
Sorry to hear your experiences with the Shuttle ain't been that good... You should just wait for the 1000W version of the Terror Bass then matey! I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a 500W version, just waiting to hear how it compares to the LittleMark, assuming it does well, I'll be a proud owner of one very soon! Cheers, Eude
 19. Wow mate, I never thought I'd see you part with this beaut! Whatever's got your attention must be something real special! Good luck with the sale, I don't reckon this'll hang around very long though. Cheers, Eude
 20.
Jon turned 40 last week ... send him a card, he may even get back on your basses then
How's your latest project coming along Si?...
How does the payment work out with Jon? I'm guessing he won't need one lump sum, but you could pay him a few hunner a month?
In my experience, it was a 40% Deposit to start work with the remainder payable on completion. He's happy for you to pay up the remainder as you see fit, but I don't think he'll budge on the 40% before he starts work. Cheers, Eude
 21. Awesome review mate I'm real tempted to get one of these bad boys. Do you have any experience of MarkBass gear, would be nice to know how they compare... Also, how's the build quality? Cheers, Eude
 22. Quick heads up. Red Dog Music here in Edinburgh are doing this lil' amp fairly cheap too >> http://www.reddogmusic.co.uk/Basses-Amps-a...ass-Terror.html Any news on the amp Dave? Dying to hear what you make of it... Eude
 23. That's a shame dude. I was keeping an eye on your ad, as I might be shifting my LittleMark 250 very soon, wish I'd dropped you a line now, sorry... Oh well, it's a great amp regardless thought mate. Enjoy Eude
 24.
I am waiting for GAK to get back to me, see if they're doing the offer still. So, all going well i could have one next week. I won't have a cab for it though, hence this proposition! I'm thinking of putting it atop a Barefaced Compact; which my significant other says she might fund a bit of for a christmas pressy!
Cool Well you're more than welcome to try it with my Aguilar GS112. Keep me posted on how you get on... Cheers, Eude
 25.
I fancy picking one of these up in the next week or so; if anyone is in Edinburgh and wants to check it out then it'd be cool.
That would rock mate! I'm really keen to replace my MarkBass head with one of these, but I'd love to try one out with my Aguilar cab first... Cheers, Eude
