  4. Purchased an original Arpege Delta metal fretless earlier this year and in the pocket of the case was a Vigier Excess scratchplate!! YES WEIRD..So if anybody with an older excess in need or looking for a scratchplate..All I ask is shipping costs..Any questions please ask.. Cheers. πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ

  6. Just got this Trace Elliot Series 6 GP12 and 1220 Cab yesterday! Sounds amazing! Condition like it has just come out of a time capsule! Very very happy bass playerπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘
  7. Hi Ped..I have emailed Ben at HTD last Friday to see about a potential last chance order..and yes Patrice is retiring, and will be announcing very soon. He is completing existing stock model spec orders..So there goes my one off imetal fretless passion 1V in transparent Black with gold hardwear! (lol) πŸ‘πŸ€”πŸ˜ƒ
  8. Excellent playing and sounding Ibanez Premium bass.. I acquired the bass from @bigthumbPaul on this forum at the start of the year..in a great transaction.. Advertising for the price paid which is an out and out BARGAIN!! Includes shipping to mainland UK. Reason for selling..I own a beautiful 89 NT Thumb 4..and this Ibanez matches it in aesthetics, sounds, and most importantly to me, playability! The Warwick Thumb is going nowhere..so a chance to grab a 2018 Ibanez Premium bass at less than half price..Only two small minor dinks on the headstock, other than that as new! 3.4 Kg 34inch Scale 24 fret 38mm nut Mahogany body Gloss Mojito Lime green top in flame maple Wenge/bubinga neck Rosewood fingerboard Satin finish Slim neck with titanium support rods..Very stable.. Norstrand Big Spilt pickups..(Brilliant) active/passive switch (9v) 3 way mid frequency adjustment switch (very versatile) volume/ blend /bass/ mid/ and treble control knobs..(treble works as tone control in passive mode) Gotoh machine heads monorail bridge..easy adjust.. stunning abalone inlays. Padded gig bag.. relatively new RS66LB strings on it. and adjustment hex keys.. if in the Edinburgh, You're very welcome to try out..Any questions please ask..pm me Cheers πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ

  9. I would just like to put a last point in here about Vigier basses.. I have owned now, 7 different Vigiers! Very very fortunate to still own 3! Three Arpege basses, a series 1V (2005) and two Series 1 (1984) and (1986) Passion basses. 2 Series 11 (1986) and (1987) and 1 series 111 (1992) and fairly recently an Excess original (2015) Everyone of these beautiful instruments over the evolution of Vigier history, have had the most stable and ridiculously comfortable necks! The early series 1 Arpege basses only needed the minimal amount of truss rod adjustment. You really, if given a chance to play a Vigier, will then wholey fully appreciate just how amazing the necks and these basses are.. Good luck again Patrice and thankyou for the giving the pleasure to bass playingπŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ
  10. I remember watching the amazing nomeansno bass player Rob Wright playing through one of these with his beaten up precision bass on the Wrong tour. NEVER have I heard a bass, sound so good, apart from the opening bass notes of Hanging around by JJ and that is praise indeed, for the old Acoustic amps and cabs!!!! Good luck with your saleπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘
  11. Sad news.. I remember playing my first Vigier Passion series 11 bass at The bass centre in Wapping in 1987!! Even had hair then!! I vowed whenever I could rustle up enough money, I would own one..Easier said than done.. In 2009 I obtained a 1993 Vigier passion 111 custom from California..So only 21 years later..lol Truly wonderfully designed, boutique basses and guitars from Patrice, with his ground breaking designs and inventions.. I'm still not a 100% how the electronics work? (Joking) but still sounds amazing. So good luck to Patrice and his team and thanks for the wonderful history and fantastic instruments..Still get a thrill whenever I see a Vigier for sale on this forumπŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ
  12. I owned this beautiful Vigier before selling onto @Abjatar Yet another of life's bass regrets! These early Arpege basses come up so rarely for obvious reasons, they are that good! Somebody will be very happy here😁 GLWTS
  13. Total beauty, Great price too! I an surprised this is still here. GLWTSπŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ
  14. Just took my basschat app of the phone lasted two days!!πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ Basses for sale, arguably as addictive as nicotine, alcohol etc, etc, etc regardless of whether you can feed your addiction for GAS or not!! Must resist."You will be happy, and have nothing!" EeerhhmπŸ™ˆπŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ
  15. I Remember buying a Wal pro1 fretless for the incredibly cheap sum of Β£400 in the mid nineties!! Something about buying your dream bass, and being totally let down after a couple of days!! The reality was it weighed the weight of a forrest!! The neck was chunkier than a box of Yorkie chocolate bars!! On the plus point, looked really good! The electronics were just amazingly good! So ironically enough sold it a couple of months later for the princely sum of Β£350 of which I don't regret..I guess people were not so into Wals then? lolπŸ™ˆπŸ˜ It didn't rankle with me to see it up for sale a couple of years ago on eBay for offers over Β£3.5k..If I had a spare Β£350, sorry I still wouldn't buy one again..It's horses for courses I guess..Sorry Wal owners just my humble opinion!πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ
  16. Just found this thread.. Also having owned these three basses back in the day! I still own an 89 Thumb..Hands down winner, is the Thumb in growliness!!! πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ
  17. Just bought a Stunning Ibanez SR1400 of Paul. Total bombproof packing!! Great communication and a top bloke to deal with. Thanks PaulπŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ

  20. I wish somebody would by this bargain! It will save me for coming back for another quick look! Oh dear maybe that is basschat for sale addiction! πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚ GLWTS of this beautyπŸ‘πŸ™‚
  21. Wow!! My old bass..Think top of the range Ibanez but THREE times as good! I've been fortunate to own a Peavey B Quad too, and the Dean plays and sounds better! Cannot reccomend this bass enough! You have two classic VERY RARE basses, up for sale at riculously low buy me now prices!! GLWTSπŸ‘πŸ™‚
  22. Wow!! This is a basschat steal folks!!! GLWTSπŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ
  23. The Vigier corner looks pretty fantastic!!πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ
  24. Thanks @CookPassBabtridge Wrong person to ask as I use Rotosound swing bass RS66LB 35-90 on my Vigier Passion basses..so they will be mega aggressive really! Even though shandy lightweight in gauge, but suits my light touch..I think Elixirs as @thodrik and @Hellzero says..Certainly will last a lot longer, and in previous experience of owning once, not so harshπŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ
  25. Thanks @ped It is a real beauty.the Walnut grain is exceptional! I was told it may once have been owned by Derek Forbes of Simple minds!? πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ
