  1. Hi Folks.. With much regret and financial worries.I am putting up for sale, my Ernie Ball Musicman STERLING bass for sale (USA made) This is a 2006 model, as near pristine as you will find, no dings whatsoever! A very light surface scratch on lower horn (see pic) for disclosure.you will not see it unless going over with the proverbial fine tooth comb.lol This is the slightly downsized version of the Stingray with a narrower nut and lovely slim style jazz neck profile. It has an ash body.maple neck and fingerboard..super punchy unplugged.1.5 inch nut, 34 scale. Weighs 9lbs, 21 frets. 3 band eq.. very versatile, 9v. 3 way switch for ceramic pickup series/series/phantom/parallel Offers a lot of tonal options. The compensating nut introduced in 2006 allows for precise intonation.Comes with original dusting cloth (unused) keys and Musicman A4 information sheets in the excellent condition hard case.. I have set the bass with a very low action, but this can easily be changed to your setting with the wonderful wheel ended truss rod adjuster.. Any questions please ask..These wonderful basses retail new at over ยฃ2k so for an as new bass I consider this a bargain..Shipping will be included in price, next day UK mainland..or if in Edinburgh area give me a shout to try out https://www.music-man.com/serial-number-database
  2. Hi Clarky..Sorry to see this back up for sale so soon. Though someone else will be getting an out and out BARGAIN, for a stunning looking, playing, and sounding bass at this price!!! Realistically you would be spending best part of ยฃ2.6k to have this built now plus shipping and import duties!!! Cliff Bordwell makes exceptional basses, think Sei or GB basses..top luthiery..ps As many of you know, Clarky is true gent to do business with. GLWTS of this exceptional bass ๐Ÿ˜€
  3. Wow, They don't turn up that often, do Vigier Series 11 passion basses!! Alas sold mine, but I am in the very fortunate position of having a series 111 four string. You may regret this? If you have to, heaven forbid, that you ever have to revert back to a four string bass!!๐Ÿ˜€ Lol Arguably the most stable best playing necks in all of bassdom in my humble opinion....That is one of the many reasons they do not come up for sale that often!! Good luck with the sale of this beauty..someone will be happy. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘
  4. Thanks for a heads up on Nomeansno and Rob Wright๐Ÿ˜Ž Canada has produced in my humble opinion, the two greatest three piece bands in the World!! Nomeansno from Vancouver and Rush from Toronto. Alas both bands no more!! R.I.P. Neil.. Nomeansno were punk/jazz legends..The first time i saw them was on the WRONG tour with the original guitarist Andy Kerr, They got waylaid trying to find the Venue and did a quick line check..."Oh my f##king stars!!!" I have never heard a drummer (John) playing reverse maths equations on a kit, that could sound so amazing with the guitarist playing syncopated riffs with him. Then as for the bass!! Rob Wright is a Machine, A bass playing supernova. At that time playing a fender precision bass with a pick, think Chris Squire and JJ Burnel but twice as fast!! An Acoustic amp head and 2ร—15 cab..whilst just like Geddy singing at the same time.A bit of a more butch voice though! I believe i saw Nomeansno about twelve times in various countries and they never ceased to blow my mind, playing for the love of playing and as for the Wright brothers (not Orville and Wilbur!) Rob and John, i have never heard a tighter unit..If we were needing to defend the World against a rouge Alien hoard with Drum and Bass, the Wright brothers would be the guardians of the Galaxy!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž ps YYZ tone is mind blowingly amazing!!๐Ÿ˜Ž
  5. Having recently purchased a wonderful 1990 Thumb bass on basschat from @paul j h I just would like to say "Mojo, Mojo, Mojo!!" Sounds and play's fantastic!! 9. Yes it is a very beautiful bass that plays fantastically..Yes that's always the way things happen! You buy one beautiful bass in the Chris Larkin custom and then a Sei comes up! All the best.
  10. Just to say bass will come with a hard case and include shipping to mainland UK..As previously stated the price is negotiable. I'm basing this on a 4 string bass that was for sale at Bass Direct..You can but make an offer, I can but say yes or no? Don't be shy..This I feel new would be in the realms of ยฃ3k if ordering new.. Would still consider a trade for an early-ish four string Vigier or Status..Thanks๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€
  11. Hi @4000 Thanks for the kind words, and more of the history of this wonderful bass..The neck is still as incredibly stable and the sound with the Aiguilar OPB3 preamp (fitted by Scooby) and the Kent Armstrong pick-ups amazingly versatile for all styles..This bass is a true players bass๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘

  14. Hi Folks.. After much thought and procrastination! Up for sale here is a Beautiful Sei Flamboyant 4 string bass in immaculate condition..Reason for sale is I just admire it, but never play it for fear of damaging it! (Madness I know) This bass plays and sounds as good as it looks! More importantly was built to be PLAYED!! I am the third owner..The bass was commissioned and built by Martin Petterson of Sei in 2004 by Pete (Scooby) He sold it and then bought if back, and I bought it of him in 2014.The bass is immaculate with next to no wear at all. 34 scale, 1.5 inch nut, Ash body, 24 fret maple/bubinga seven piece neck. Ebony fretboard, Madrone burl (Strawberry wood) top and peghead veneers (Stunning) Kent Armstrong pick-ups, Aiguilar OPB3 preamp 18V push/pull midrange sweep. ABM bridge, Gotoh tuners.Very light 3.5 kg.lovely slim profile neck as are most Sei's I've played. Only trade I would be interested in is a Vigier Arpege series 1,11,or 111 four string bass. Open to sensible offers! Any questions please ask. Cheers.
  15. John what a genuine and lovely guy to meet, and have a chat, and sell my Fender Urge bass to..Thanks again John. Alan ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘
  16. Sold my Westone Super headless bass to Adam in a wonderfully quick lockdown sale..Great guy to do business with๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€
  17. Fortunate enough in my time to own a Fender US version (this one) and the Mexican version with the two Jazz pick ups only.. Both were and are fantastic basses..The tone capabilities on this bass is vastly superior and you can dial in any tone you should require with the preamp..Plus with the trim pot inside the bass you have plenty of scope to adjust the amount of mid frequency.Plus unlike the Mexican version I had, this is totally noiseless. Also In the passive mode with all three pickups..just amazing..but for sure if slap is your thing..this does it with total aplomb!!!
  18. Yes it is thanks. This was the follow up to the Kubicki bass with the same 32 scale length..๐Ÿ˜€
  19. Hi Folks. With regret and up for sale only is my Fender Stu Hamm Urge bass USA in Burgundy mist..This bass is tantamount to mint condition!! This has a wonderful playable medium scale (32) neck which you can fire around like nobody's business..This was the first Fender signature model bass, and was designed with Stu's collaboration with the custom shop team. This is a 93 model.. Alder body, maple neck, with graphite rods and fully functioning truss rod. 24 frets, String through body gold bridge (great sustain) gotoh lightweight tuners in Black. 4 bolt tilt adjustable neck plate. 2 noiseless jazz pickups and noiseless precision pick up. 18v preamp.3 way pick up selector.front precision only, middle all pick ups and back jazz pick ups.stacked controls front.top master volume, bottom jazz pick up pan. middle control, top treble cut/boost bottom bass cut/boost.this control acts as the tone control also when in passive mode..the last control knob is a four way position knob fully clockwise standby/off 1rst position with mid boost (can be adjusted by trim pot under control cavity) 2nd position mid without boost. 3rd position passive only..Very usable and easy to dial in your favourite tone..Comes with fitting Fender case..As the pictures will show the bass is minted. The only marking is on the bottom left by the strap button by a guitar stand.not even noticeable..see last picture..Price includes shipping to mainland UK I consider this to be an excellent price for such a pristine instrument. Any question please ask.. Cheers. Fender Stu Hamm Custom Shop Urge Bass 1992 Yellow | Chris's Gear Locker | Reverb
  20. I am getting a serious hankering for a vintage Warwick Thumb bass now!!! I really regret selling my 88 thumb bass... (Madness) The sound and build of early Warwick's so much better in my humble opinion..GLWTS of your vintage Warwick's
  21. I agree wholeheartedly about being to cheap for a hen's teeth, rocking horse s**t rare and beautiful bass. Seems to be the going price though!!๐Ÿ˜€
  22. Hi folks. Rare and in excellent, near pristine condition..This is from 1986 and is in a beautiful and incredibly rare LO finish. Light Oak. I remember wanting one of these top of the range Westone basses, by going into Gordon Simpsons music shop in Stafford street, Edinburgh in 1986!! I made do with my wonderful Thunder 1A instead, but obviously never had the money then for the Super headless. One came up on eBay before Chrimbob and I treated myself. (Sorry I digress) So this is the XK1900 model with the magnaflux V jazz pick ups. 3 way pick up selector switch. Active on/off, phase on/off switches (I think?) volume, tone, bass/treble control knobs. Seven piece maple/walnut neck, 24 fret rosewood neck, frets in excellent condition. Alder body and Light Oak top.Westone tuners and bridge (super precise) Sounds amazing. 18 v Electronics all work perfectly. 1.5 inch nut. 33.75 scale..Very low action and slim playable jazz style neck with the slap contour on the body!! Bar one small mark (see last picture) by bottom strap button it is pristine. Not bad for a 34 year old bass!! Shipping to mainland UK included in the price. This is the going rate for these basses. Should be considerably more in my opinion. I would doubt you will find one in this good a condition. unless new and unearthed out of a time capsule...๐Ÿ˜€ Any questions please PM me Cheers
