Beat me to it thanks @Hellzero..for the information there..I owned a series IV Arpege..but just personally didn't get on with the bolt on neck Vigiers, beautiful though they are..The Glokenklang preamp amazing thoughππ

Yes I may treat myself to some elixirs for thisππ

So I accept for me buying older Vigier basses, is becoming an addiction!! HELP!! I picked this Series 1 Arpege fretless on Gumtree about a month ago..I have wanted a delta metal fretless for what is years, and to see one come up, I bit the bullet, because snooze you lose! I had a series 1 fretted bass earlier this year, but sold due to not being able to get the insane low action on my series 11,111 passion basses..So I didn't take a gamble on this, just an educated guess that the fretless would be able to lower the action quite well, even with the truss rod! Thankfully correct! So probably a last series 1 bass from March 86.. Electronics have been replaced I appreciate..Very functional 18v 3 band preamp..active/passive push pull knob, master volume and passive tone knob..No idea who made the preamp but very quiet, So maybe not quite as quirky as the other two..lol The neck profile is slim and just astounding.. This fretless really sings with that spinal tap sustain that goes on and on and on! Trying not to do that Alan Partridge moment in his caravan pretending to be Mick Karn..lol..Feel it may become quite addictive polishing the delta metal fingerboard too! So the second one of these beauties up on basschat this week! ππ

Yes I noted that too..A series 11 bass, like the one up for sale here, the other week, It was pretty beat up!! Great bass though, and a good potential restoration project for someone! ππ

Oh Man!! Wow!! Stunning Arpege, series 1 bass you have there..ππ The older Vigiers in my humble opinion, just ooze class, and this fretless looks like it has come out a time capsule from the eighties, fantastic condition.. Love the brass nut on this, goes very well with the delta metal fingerboard!! I will just say it once more, WOW!!π π

I have been fortunate to own a custom shop, and one of these signature Stu Hamm urges..Both fantastic basses!! Total funk machines/rock/slaptapstic, they do it. all. With a beautiful slim profile easy to play 32 scale neck..Compared to the prices other Fenders go for! This is an out an out bargain, for a rarity.. GLWTS/trade ππ

wright/watt replied to greyparrot's topic in Basses For Sale
Early Passion series 11 here, with the original Benedetti pickups, At a very good price!! The necks on these bass guitars really don't get any better in my humble opinion..and as stated neck in excellent condition!! Somebody is going to be very very happy with this.. I also must try to resist..difficult though it is.. I own oneπ Good luck with the sale of this beautiful bass ππ -
I used to own one of these beauties!! An Incredibly versatile bass with the Modulus neck, one of the best I've personally ever played! This really is in the same ballpark a Vigier Passion series 11/111 or a Status series 2 in terms of quality which is saying a lot! That said, the Dean B2 Bromberg bass equally as good as this too! GLWTS of this rarity. ππ

Westone bass guitars - what do people think of them?
wright/watt replied to CathalOC's topic in Bass Guitars
I have owned a few Westones!!ππ An 84 Thunder 1A bass in Black..to be honest always preferred the the mega punchy passive tone..total workhorse!! My first, to me anyway, serious bass!! A Westone thunder 11 86ish!! medium scale (32) in a greenish tint.. Westone super headless 86 which sold on basschat in 30minutes!!! lol Absolutely stunning..Guess I wanted one since I was a whipper snapper! Didn't disappoint though, headless wasn't my thing.. Also a thunder 111..Brilliant but mega heavy.. I personally play with a low action and light touch and all the Westones I owned, were able to deliver that with aplomb!! They can be great value and are wonderfully made instruments..ππ -
