Welcome Aboard If you are wandering about, stay away from the forest as I have heard they have a hoody running around stealing from the rich and giving to the poor.... Ok, I'll get me coat
-
They shut one of our local pubs because they put bands on without a licence A good venue to play as it had a proper stage. Re-opened with new management and no music
-
Bring em all out! Looking pretty 'road worn'
remember the guy with his arms folded and standing still, staring at you like he is going to punch you, is most likely really enjoying the gig, and doesn't want to punch you, he may even tell you after how good it was, and that he saw the stones in 72
Absolutely!!! I had that one night. A couple of burly biker types (I am a biker) stood at the bar and did not smile all night. At the end, as we were packing up, they approached......... "That was really good lads, will you do a gig at the Kings Head?" "er, yeah see my misses and she will check the diary and book a date!" Just shows that if you keep it pro, there are always supprises around the corner.

I usually only go in and try if I am going to buy. But I go into music shops where ever I find one. I don't ask to try instruments in those cases but may ask questions if I am interested. I do tend to say "only browsing" if challenged. If I am there to purchase then I will make myself known and ask for assistance. I have never phoned ahead though

And ALWAYS end on Freebird.......... already got my coat and running for the exit

This made me cry (and die a little inside) I would like to see him try that on a fretless He probably could

Hi Alex I really liked your comment. I have not visited your shop as yet but intend to before the year is out. Is it best to ring, even if it is for a general browse? I would be looking at amps / cabs etc and would bring my own bass. I hope that the positive comments can out shine the negative and I am looking forward to visiting! Blademan
Hi people I take on board all the comments, and it's true I can come across as a tad surly from time to time, and it is inexcusable I agree There are a lot of time wasters and people who come to try gear, and then go and buy it cheaper on line. I do get a lot of people in like yourself billy, who say I've just come in for a look round, which is all well and fine, it's not a case of being deliberately unhelpful but if you had said, I've come to try the Wal i'm interested, then of course It's no problem at all. The bass does belong to a customer, and i did assure them that i would keep people trying it out to a minimum. To other people who have had a bad experience, all i can do is apologise, we are a small, busy operation and it's sometimes not easy to give people the time they deserve. alex

I think i already know the answer is no but if there is some trick or software or something that can help it would be great to know. FWIW: Bass > USB Soundcard > Cubase 5.something > Average £40 Headphones Thanks B
As you say, the answer is no. A rehearsal room is the only way really. I use a Pandora (Korg ToneWorks) but as soon as I plug in through the main rig, I get the same result as you do!

Hmmm, the customs xray would be fun to watch
Been for a ride to PMT in Birmingham today and they had a gorgeous brand new Fender Jaguar in cobalt blue I didn't know they had started to produce them again i just had to have a go and it was just as expected a very nice bass indeed Finish was exceptional and it felt really nicely put together and not to heavy. Im the market for a new bass and i was very tempted watch this space
PMT is always a dangerous place for your wallet! I went into PMT Oxford to look at amps and came home with an Epiphone Viola! The Jaguar look great and I would have one myself if I wasn't broke!
Learn about chord tones...not just the patterns and shapes, but the notes as well. If you learn them based on shape you will end up being stuck in that pattern, whereas if you learn the notes of the chords you have access to them over the entire range of the instrument. Which is another reason why you should really learn the notes on the fingerboard.
As ever, Doddy puts it a far more eloquent way than I
how much is too much for a good condition 98 korean jazz with good quality headstock logo mod. Its a sunburst with rosewood on maple neck.
£150? That's all I have paid for each of my Squier (modded with logo etc) Jazz basses. (Check my avitar for one of them!) The very early Korean stuff had problems I believe. If it plays nice then it's worth whatever you pay for it All these three only cost £400 for the lot

On my two Jazz's the fretless has a BBOT and the fretted has a high mass type. I don't play hard with either and the bridge is fine on both. The BBOT looks right on the fretless and shall remain there! The high mass one looks cool on the fretted too! I did deliberate on whether or not I should swap them around to see..... but I have better things to do!
