I've had two. The first was the Protec small mixer PA1212. It offers near flight case protection, but does bulk up the volume a bit. Thinly padded compared to the Protec, but fine for light gigging duties.

I love 6x10s. The just seem to be the perfect sized cab - they look brilliant, keep the head at the right height, but can fit in a car. I've played through the Ampeg HLF and thought it was very good, if not a bit undefined on the lower frequencies. However, I'll have to mention the Barefaced '69er as well. It's got a definite old school colour, yet is tight and even throughout the range. And it can be lifted with one hand (for short distances) I've only seen one come up for sale second hand though, and it didn't hang around!

There hasn't been a bass bash in the East Midlands since I've been a member :-( I have, however met a number of local Basschatters at gigs, and they've been really nice.

Are you able to try some new valves to eliminate the possibility of a duff valve?

My ideal cab is less than thirteen inches deep, so it will fit in a gap under the stairs. This is part of the reason I've gone barefaced!

A trip down memory lane - Biohazard

I'm trying to send an amp to a BCer using Citilink via Interparcel, next day service. They failed to pick it up on Wednesday. This was rescheduled for today, and they failed to show up again. I've just had a message from the recipient saying that they have just delivered a shelving unit to him, apparently from me!!
