  1. I’ve used Noiseworks in Coventry, they also do warranty work for Bass Direct. In fact they put a new brass nut on my US NS2 and a good job it was! https://www.guitarsandbasses.co.uk/index.php
  2. In no particular order.. Ric 4001. One of the best necks I've known, which was inversely proportional to the body. My right forearm still thanks me. Westone Thunder 1A. This was my first bass, so when one came up a few years ago I thought I'd re-live past glory, but as Lemmy said, the sight of a well turned ankle can send a 12 year old into paroxysms of joy. A neck-diving boat anchor. Fender Coronado. Another boat-anchor. Burns Bison. An enormous stupid bass, with an enormously stupid sound. Danelectro 62. Long scale, shortest time out of the box. Straight back to GAK. What was I thinking?!
  3. I bought a 40th Anniversary Euro from Bass Gear in Twyford. The shop ceased trading, but has a FB page so you might want to ask there. https://www.facebook.com/BassGearUK/
  4. My original comment about it looking nice was because it did not have a pick guard. So leave it alone!
  5. I wonder if this would be solved by the Darkglass pre they are now putting in?
  6. What was up with the sound, could you sum it up?
  7. I think the white Mike Dirnt Roadworn is a peach. I tried one in Wunjo and it was a lovely player.
  8. If I wasn't mad on Spector, I think I'd try Dingwall.. How about you? And tell me about your Dingwall experience when you're on!
  9. I bet she wasn't even looking at the bass, but staring wistfully into the distance.. or something
  10. I had a 4001 with the best neck ever. I love the whole parallel thing, just can't get on with the sharp body.... ahhnd Spector... Bingo! Spector is a super- Ric and if they'd developed the product, may have well ended up with similar before Stuart and Ned.
  11. I wonder if RIC have a hand in this, or even Spector for that matter!. Any clues on Mr Wingers build?
  12. Rubbish. It's all shouting, you can't hear the words and there's no melody
  13. There was a right load of old stinky poo in the 80's
  14. for a start, he opens with "respectfully", so he's not being as much of an chocolate starfish as people are making out. It's just his opinion based on his (no small) experience. I like Kiss, as they're a band with a mid-level talent, but great showmanship who have undoubtedly left their mark. I wonder if the Kiss naysayers are a touch jealous a la Adam Clayton.
  15. Gene Simmons can't even play with a pick, he drops so many from his non-shaky hands that he has to stick a bushel of them on his Punishy-thing-um each gig! Terrible over-hanging thumb too, but nice cod-piece
  16. I think you should film it on the banks of the Kennet and Avon Canal in Aldermaston Wharf. On completion of the canal in 1810 local industry flourished with exports of timber products, malt and flour and imports of coal, groceries and manufactured goods. Then the bastard governments knackered it all. Lovely neck of the woods tho..
  17. I started with all the early stuff. I really liked The Top, that doesn't get much props, but it was the tour when I first saw them. You can't go far wrong with Disintegration.
