  1. Hope you don't mind, I edited for you. Click the share button on YT under player. Then copy the link onto your BC post
  2. I cannot separate that tune from the sound and image of Brian Walden
  3. I'm off work with the plague at the moment and very much enjoying having my feet up watching Minder, The Professionals and The Sweeney. I think it's The Professionals which has some nice little bass-noodles running through the scenes, or the bit of slap in Minder. Do any members know who played the bass on the theme tunes?
  4. I found this trawling through Bass Direct and thought it looked the bomb. Not much of a knowledge on Mayones basses, but this one is lush!
  5. Can believe the sound this guy is getting from a bass with only 3 strings on. Fantastic!
  6. Woof! Wood! Lovely Mmmm
  7. Well, you'd be welcome to have a shot, but I can't see me ever parting with it.
  8. I think you'd like my NS5XL Forte Helium. 8.5lbs ☺️
  9. Well, believe it or not, I'd just put a 'Spector' search into the Bass forum and read through a few old threads.
  10. I've noticed a number of pictures are no longer showing, maybe due to the move to the new site? ☹️ Any-hoo, these are my current ones in the house. Sorry, not a great pic as the light doesn't show how the red pops! Left to right.. 40th Anniversary Euro... Not LX, solid flamed maple wings. Ebony board and a modded Tone Pump for pan/vol/tone Custom built Swamp Ash Forte 5 XL Helium. Outside of the standard spec it has Hipshots, 40DC's and OBP 3 and a double S inlay on the 12th. Weighs a touch over 8lbs. I had Stuart Spector hand this to me personally at the LBGS... Finally my NS2 Helium. Quilt maple over reclaimed water tank redwood. 9V Haz, Abalone, the whole 9 yards. Sometime I pick this bass up and it floors me just what a work of art it is. If you ever want an NS2 which shows you the difference between US and Czech built, this is it.
  11. Are theyTW pup's and a Tone Pump?
  12. Why would you want to let that go?
  13. Apparently he does the clubs in a knock-off fighter pilot's uniform. Oooh Matron!
  14. For as long as I can remember there have been posters trying to get the rise out of others and people moaning about how BC is not what it was. When was the Golden Age of BC? BC has only been affected by the proliferation of other social media, not by a handful of 'long standing' members leaving.
  15. I take back everything I say about him. Bloomin' goldbricking lollygagger!
  16. Just for information, you can wire the Tone Pump for Pan/Vol/Bass/Treble, which I find infinitely more satisfying. According to Petr Michalik (who makes them) it's his preferred configuration. http://michalik.cz/img/pdf/BP-4_balance_rev2_en.pdf
  17. Simply because you say not to go there without proffering a reason why. If the OP asks for help or advice then that’s what we give. Far from having a bad attitude I gave my opinion on a business that I’ve had very good service on 3 occasions. Twice with basses of a combined value of around £6k. The third time was for work done on a custom build that was near ruined by the Bass Doc. In the end John felt he couldn’t get the finish right and declined to charge me for a respray on what was very decent work. Also Martin Peterson at The Bass Gallery has seen the nut John changed on my NS2 and didn’t believe it wasn’t original from Spector. But, without any explanation you rubbish the guy with ‘don’t use him’. I’m very comfortable with my attitude thank you, but perhaps you would like to look a little closer to home? I hope from the advice given the OP manages to find the right person for the job.
  18. Well thanks that, but before taking a dump on someone who is trying to help, perhaps you’d like to give some evidence as to why!
