1. Pre-weekend bump and price drop to £675 including UK delivery.
2. Jamiraquai in Manchester last night, decent length of set which included a good mix of old and new tracks. Jay's voice was great and hats off to Paul for a brilliant performance covering all eras of the bands material perfectly. Awesome!
3. I bought Stu's Bergantino HD112's off him the other day. The cabs were in perfect condition as described and i would bet that all his gear is in great shape. Good communication throughout the transaction and he's an all round decent bloke. Trade with confidence. Cheers
4.
Are you open to trades, maybe?
Thanks for the enquiry, but to be honest I need the money at the moment.
5. Due to a change in circumstances I'm selling my Mesa D-800. It's in mint condition and comes with its original padded bag. This amp has never missed a beat and has always sounded amazing regardless what cab I've paired it with. Here's the blurb. •Handmade in California. •800 Watts @ 4 or 2 Ohms (400 @ 8). •Weight: 5lb, 2.6kg •Balanced XLR Line Out with Pre/Post, Line/Mic & Ground Lift Switches •Active/pAssive switch •Mute switch •Headphone Output •Auxiliary Input •Protection & Limit LED Indicators •2 Speakon Speaker Output Jacks •Fan Cooled •Gig Bag w/Strap I'm asking for £675 including UK delivery. Thanks for looking.
6.
To be honest, for most applications, an aux fed sub is an over complication and can actually contribute to a worse mix. If you aren't sure, stick with plugging into the sub and then up to the tops. If you are finding your mix too bassy or not bassy enough, you can adjust the volume on the back of the sub to balance (just make sure you don't set it peaking).
That makes sense, is there any requirement for a graphic eq in this type of setup or would the channel eq be sufficient.
7.
If it's powered, it'll have a built in crossover. You would plug your powered tops into the main LR... and the sub into an aux. The problem with this is that without a crossover for your tops, you are going to be sending full range to your tops). If it's not powered, you'll need to signals to your sub through a crossover unit before going to the amp which would then power the sub. Same for the tops - the signal for those would go through the crossover and then to the amp before powering the tops.
Ok, thanks. We have just upgraded to the same 712’s and 905 set up and want to avoid any issues from the outset. This is our first PA system with a sub and have no prior experience of using one.
8. Maybe I’m being daft but how would i go about running the sub through an aux in a way that you could control the eq being sent to it, without it affecting what goes through the tops?
9. Lovely, the only problem is that one is never enough!
10. Bluetooth foot switch arrived direct from Bergantino today. It works perfectly and my plan to use the assignable effects loop on/off option does exactly what I hoped. Wire free rehearsal tomorrow!
11. Purchased Sean's RCF pa system recently, great communication and easy to deal with. Items were exactly as advertised, wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again.
12. Ok so here are my findings after owning the B/amp for a couple of weeks. I think that the size and weight of the amp are about right, not too small to be fiddly to use but easily transportable and heavy enough to feel stable on the top of the cab. The cab i'm using is a Barefaced Super twin which in the past i have paired with a MarkBass TTE500 and a Mesa D-800 (preferred the Mesa) Whilst I've only played the B/amp at reasonable home volume up to now, what was instantly noticeable was the note definition and clarity from this pairing, even though the Super twin only has a usable frequency response up to 4kHz there seemed to be a sweet top end that hadn't come through before with the other amps, whilst retaining a great low end. This amp has an extremely versatile eq section but my bass sounds balanced from string to string when everything is set to zero, in fact i haven't needed to use the pre-amp on my bass either, this may change in a band setting but i'm confident it won't need much tweaking. I've not explored the drive effects section that much as i tend to use a clean sound but the compressor looks like it will prove to be a useful addition. Another thing i'm looking forward to trying is the switchable effects loop (this is a state you can set in a saved sound), this means that once the blue tooth foot switch arrives i will be virtually wireless on stage. I only use one or two effects from a zoom B3 throughout our set so i can leave this on top of my cab and in theory switch the effects on before the start of the song and switch the loop on and off during the song (this may prove to be a novelty but the thought of just having the BT foot switch at the front of the stage seems good to me) The amp will get it's first outing in a band rehearsal next week so i will update my views once I've cranked it up a bit.
13. Just started using ACS custom earplugs and can heartily recommend them, far superior sound when wearing them compared to all other cheaper off the shelf options I’ve tried.
14. Price drop bump, now asking £350
15. This is good to know after just investing in a B amp Very reassuring customer service too
16.
I've been using mine with a Barefaced BB2 which is a good configuration, but there is something sweet about being able to enable the onboard profiles fro Bergantino's own cabinets, thus I have a pair of HD112 cabinets that as a stack sound fantastic. Bergantino are the only brand I know of that are using the same sort of technology that top brand PA system manufacturers have been employing to match amplifiers and speakers - and it works. The thing is, any cabinet will work. You don't have to be bound by 'the brand'. The profiles can be completely bypassed. It's a great sounding amp, even straight in to the PA as a DI box ha ha!!! I've used the HDn212 and of course the review I did demonstrated the HDN112.
Just out of interest have you tried any of the Bergantino speaker profiles with your BB2?
17.
I called about one today but apparently Bass Direct aren't doing Bergantino anymore and they sold their last one already. Looks like you'd have to order direct from the US.
They were still showing stock on the BD website so i just gave Mark a call, which ended up in me buying the last one!

19. I’m seriously looking at taking a punt on one of these amps but I’m curious what speaker cabs current owners have got it paired with? Obviously it’s a good match with Berg cabs but how do others sound?
20.
Looks like full length version of 'The Wrecking Crew' has been posted up on YouTube - Well worth a watch.
Just finished watching, very enjoyable afternoon in the office ;-)
