1.
A little update on my latest NY121
Markbass' failure rate is ridiculously low so you've been very unlucky! Sure your replacement will be perfect once the drivers have been "broken in"
 2.
We've been trying to tell you that for years, but would you listen??? Seriously, it's another word for not posting vids on YT that make other people feel worthless as bassists. Nice chops! Very non-altruistic of you! BTW, it's also used to describe the actions of people like myself when we don't post vids so as to spare other people from having to watch our attempts at attempting...
Sorry, I can't hear you over my excessively driven bass sound (and the resultant hiss/feedback) And cheers man Took me many years to be confident enough with my playing and tone to post anything on the internet. I could be a lot tighter, and watching back does help a bit to highlight that.
 3.
Nice chops man!
My point proven (Thanks!)
 4.
So that is why you post youtube videos of yourself playing? Can't you just sit in front of the mirror for that.
But if you record it you only have to play it once
 5.
I think it's sometimes a great idea...you have the luxury of hearing the bass louder than in the original mix and you get a glimpse of how it's played, how cool is that...
I agree, there are a few guys on there who I listen back to a lot because I can hear the bass and it has a nice tone!
 6. I don't know what altruism means, but this guy is one egotistical prick
 7.
My cab...!

Ooops, my bad. I meant speaker cab.
Another cab
 8.
Recommendations are nothing more than a suggestion as what suits one player and bass may well not suit you at all.
100%! I hear bad reviews of Elixirs all the time but I love them.
 9. This is a ridiculous bargain!!!
 10. Haha I do play pretty hard, fret clank is part of my tone! I don't have problems with Elixir strings though, they lasted me a year until I snapped the E
 11. The neons have duff G strings as well. Plus they die after about 2 gigs, faster than uncoated strings. Oh and the coating comes off and makes a mess of your fretboard and hardware.
 12. After sales care is generally better in a store, and you have the option to try the instrument out to make sure it's a good one!
 13. Surprised there aren't more mentions of the fanned fret design. (I don't know if it was Sheldon Dingwall who first came up with it or not). It may not have caught on in a huge way (yet) but who knows?
 14. I'd do the same personally, but I did once sell a Sansamp on here for double what I paid in cash converters
 15. Despite my disappointment with how the tone doesn't compliment my sound, an Ampeg 810 always looks good. Especially with a rack on top packed with lights knobs and switches
 16. They look very interesting and everyone seems to think highly of them. The price of these things is incredibly low too!
 17. I'm going to mention bottle washers again. I throw my basses all over the place now that ive got them on and they haven't let me down!
 18. Wait so you got an incredibly good sounding neodymium p bass pickup from somebody with the same surname as The Ox himself... For just £25? You must be lying! ... Are they handmade??
 19. Thanks for the heads up mate, won't be playing the Roadhouse in Manchester any time soon! I know original bands generallly make less than covers and it may not be about the money but I would be absolutely livid if they couldn't even stump up the pre agreed £20! The problem with a lot of known places in big cities is that they know people are itching to play so will walk over bands
 20. I pronounce it "Wenj". I quite like how stupid that sounds
 21.
I've not noticed that on the LM3 Chris....is that an 8Ohm thing? I usually run a 4 Ohm load with mine, but to be fair my ears start to bleed and stop functioning if I get much past 2 on the master..:-)
Possibly. I've rarely used my head through anything other than a single 8 ohm cab. But then I did read that Markbass were planning to improve the inbuilt limiter for the LM3.
 22. I prefer Markbass to TC massively in terms of tone, but completely agree with the comments about the hard limiting when you push the volume past half way!
 23.
Sales don't generate themselves, there's an art to it, and there are plenty of skills people can learn to increase their conversion rate.
After working in sales for 6 months I've really noticed this. The problem is that now that I'm a skilled salesperson, selling musical instruments is far beneath me and I'd earn drastically less money than I do currently.
 24.
thomann are a good company no doubt about it. andertons and GAK are also reliable and both do bass demos on youtube which i appreciate.
I've not bought from Thomann before but I've never heard a bad review. GAK and Andertons I've had excellent experiences with though
 25.
In fact, just to add: I had almost forgotten, but at the time my girlfriend was buying the acoustic guitar she had another electric (an ESP) on order with Thomann. It wasn't being released for a few months yet if I recall so she was waiting for the stock to come in. She happened to mention this to the shop owners at which point they went on a tirade about how Thomann were the worst company in the world and no one should ever buy anything from them ever, even showing her a printed letter they said had been sent out from the head of ESP warning that Thomann were a bunch of scammers who wouldn't honour warranties or some such.
Companies can get into a lot of trouble for being derogatory about others! And I'm sure if Thomann were such a bunch of scammers, and ESP knew it, they wouldn't continue to allow them to supply their products. Sounds ropey as hell
