Please read the following important information carefully: I am an honest and ethical seller. I don't offer any items that I would not be happy to receive myself. By far the vast majority of my sales result in smooth transactions with highly satisfied buyers. The following terms and conditions are stated as insurance against the tiny minority of buyers who seek to abuse the eBay system. The price quoted for postage is correct. It is expensive because I will only use selected specialist couriers. Apologies, but I won't consent to using your own courier or shipping via Royal Mail, so please don't request this. However, you may collect yourself in person at a mutually convenient date/time, and pay 'cash on collection', which means pound notes and/or coins. In line with eBay/PayPal advice and guidance I do NOT accept PayPal if collecting in person, as there is no Protection for either Buyer or Seller in that event. If collecting in person then the price you pay is your winning bid, nothing more. If you would prefer to pay by PayPal then you will be liable to pay the shipping charge for this item, even if you live locally to me. Under eBay rules I cannot qualify for Seller Protection when a buyer pays via PayPal unless I deliver the item using a trackable/signed-for service. I will refund any PayPal payment made in error, and cancel any transaction where a bidder cannot meet the requirements above. Please pay and collect STRICTLY as described - otherwise eBay will automatically open an Unpaid Item case on my behalf. I will not hold items for any reason or any bidder, unless specific agreement is reached BEFORE auction end. I will report any Buyer attempting to breach my conditions of sale, and if necessary open a case against them to enforce Seller Protection. I am not a shop/business seller, so strictly no returns/refunds... however, you're more than welcome to ask questions, or make arrangements to view or inspect this item before you bid. If you are unhappy with my no refund policy, then please purchase from an alternative seller... thank you. The starting bid is the minimum price which I am willing to accept for this item. Please do not send messages offering to buy for less, or trade outside of eBay. This is against the rules and you will be permanently blocked from bidding on any of my listings as a result. My terms and conditions may be used to support any claim I make for eBay Seller Protection. In placing your bid you are acknowledging that you agree with everything written above. Thank you and Happy Bidding!!
........................... So basically "cash on collection"

Newtone also do custom string gauges if you contact them. They only mention nickel on the website but I asked them to do me a 6 string set in stainless steel with a .152 bottom string. They take a few months to get finished and shipped but they're fantastic quality!

Haha! Something tells me the seller was coerced into listing it, but didn't actually want it to go

Want to see what an eBay seller regarded as a 'small neck twist'?
Well, the guy kindly let me keep it.
Wow. I kind of feel bad for the guy now! Score for you though if its at all possible to fix -

I don't know, I like it!!

Most sound engineers would never dream of micing a bass amp (I don't know why this is).. my suggestion would be to buy your own mic (possibly stand too)
-
I'd have been shocked at the right of somebody walking up and using my stuff. But my first reaction would be to get up on stage, introduce myself and give them basic instructions on using my gear. Followed by "Oh, and I'll have a pint afterwards, cheers "

Metallica - Master of Puppets - Bass Cover - Full HD 1080p
chrismuzz replied to _Birdy_'s topic in Share Your Music
Great job! Your tone is really close to the original too, closer than any other cover I've ever seen!
Doens't the bass do the same as the guitar on the 2-3-4 part? Just curious...
Actually what he plays here is a lot closer to what's on the album. Most people do follow the guitar (including me!) -
Markbass speaker cones - anyone ever painted them?
chrismuzz replied to Lozz196's topic in Amps and Cabs
I've looked into this before, General consensus is that it will ruin the cones -
An entirely new definition of "cherry"

If your cherries look like that, they're going to be a bit squishy... -
On this side of the pond I doubt that one in ten bass players is in the PA.
Really? We're very lucky over here! In my current band I've only ever done like three gigs where I wasn't through the PA. And one where I was for the first three songs, but the sound engineer liked my tone so much from my cab that he told me to turn up super loud and he'd adjust the rest of the band around me! I was so obscenely loud on stage, if I wasn't so selfish I'd have felt bad... hence my title "Rhythm guitarist drowner outer"
No, because tweeters are made with specs optimized for the band width that they operate in. You can get a very good result with a large grouping of smaller drivers which do have specs appropriate for electric bass. But they must not be placed side by side, or the dispersion angle shrinks back to that of a single driver of the same width. The right way to do so is to have them in a single vertical line. For that matter that's how a 4x10 should be made, but they aren't, because what sells cabs isn't technology, it's how they look.
Thanks for humouring me I forgot about the vertical stacking thing! But yes you're 100% right about selling cabs being based on the looks... I prefer my Markbass CL104 to the 104HF I used to have. It's less sensitive, no ports, and the tweeter only has an on/off switch instead of a dial attenuator... It's also made from chip board instead of poplar ply... But it's got black speakers and black grille cloth!

Snake? Intestine? Your call ...
chrismuzz replied to Happy Jack's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
When I saw the (admittedly not very clear) front of the bod,y and the headstock (which I kind of like) I was thinking "What's so bad about this?" Then I saw the back... Then the neck!!!!! -

This might be a ridiculous question, but if you filled a cab with like 32 tweeters would you get good low end response with better dispersion on the highs?

Watching/supporting basschatters at a gig?
chrismuzz replied to paulbass's topic in General Discussion
I've only seen two BC members play live, but neither have been active on here for a couple of years. higgins666 used to play for Blue Origin, and Danimal plays for Collision Process (not sure if they're still an active band). Great guys and great bands! The missus has also seen Synapse (sorry Gilligan, I can't remember your username!) but I couldn't make it as I was working and said they're an awesome band. -

Man, if only I didn't work in a call centre I'd be checking this out right now... Looking forward to it! -
I managed to snag that prototype bass, will be collecting itin a few weeks once my 13 string is done. I've had my ups and downs with Jon, but everything is on track now and after having received a 5 string passive bass with the perspex pickup I can say that quality is not an issue, the bass is excellent. Now that communication is regular between us, I have no further issues with Jon. He does build some cracking basses...
Fantastic! Really glad to hear everything is being sorted But where are the pictures of your new bass??

I'd love one regardless of the weight! But in order to justify spending considerably more than my average Peavey budget of £170 I have to be really picky about it. It needs to have Blade pickups, a rosewood neck, and not be natural or sunburst finish
