1. Ah, 1977... The year I discovered two of my all-time faves, Peter Hammill and Todd Rundgren. Before that it had been mostly been Pink Floyd and Genesis, and Joy Division, Gang of Four et al were soon to join the throng...
 2.
UK were great. Did you get to see them play last year? I wanted to but was out on tour.
What!?! How did I not know about this And yes, Wetton-era KC is hard to beat. Red is just the best album ever by anyone! Re. Starless, apparently Wetton wrote the verses and brought it to the band under the title Starless and Bible Black. It was rejected at that point, but they used the title (originally from Dylan Thomas, of course) for an improvisation and of course the title track of the album it appears on. Fast forward to the Red sessions, and it's revisited, gaining an intro written by Fripp and an instrumental section written by Bruford. Somehow the result is the Greatest Song Ever Written , although Wetton was reportedly miffed that they couldn't use his original title.
 3.
That's odd that you can't see them, they're very much listed on the websitehere: https://uk.focusrite...udio-interfaces The LS56 & Pro24DSP are currently diuscontinued. Si // Focusrite Technical Support
I was followed the "which Focusrite is for you" link on the home page which led me here: http://compare.focusrite.com - evidently the Safire is beyond compare
 4. Have the Saffire interfaces been discontinued? Shop stock seems heavily discounted at the moment, and the only Focusrite website only shows the Clarett range - which is twice the price of the USB alternative!
 5.
You will not find a worse album cover than Virgin Killer by The Scorpions. Wrong on so many levels. I won't post an image here. The morbidly curious can do a google image search.
Oh dear. Luckily safe search "on" saved me the worst of it, but still.... The Scorpions certainly have form, don't they? I used to be a bit of a Hipgnosis fan boy, and I think they were responsible for the "bugglegum in the car" one...
 6.
Im surprised no one has posted John lennon two virgins ! now that is messed up. i tried to upload it, but kept getting an upload failed message.
Thankfully John couldn't get it up (for the photo) either!
 7.
Think they mean "lead"
If it's lead, how come it's so light?
 8.
What always surprises me about cover are of this calibre is that some people sat together in an office and said 'yep, that's it - that's definitely the cover we want for our new album'
We never saw the ones they rejected!
 9. So very many bad album covers out there.... and, at the risk of judging a book by its cover, probably so many bad albums! But what about good albums with bad covers? Two of my favourite artists are Peter Hammill and Todd Rundgren, and they've both been guilty:
 10. Where to begin?! http://www.coverbrowser.com/covers/worst-album-covers
 11. That's a neat trick with the clef swap! You can make it work with any key too, just add three flats to the key signature of the E flat part. You just needs to make sure any accidentals are treated correctly.
 12.
I'd have liked to see a theremin player, who went 'woooooOOOOoooooo' every time Bono approached the mic...
Or just a klaxon every time he started to come over all sanctimonious...
 13.
Motion, that's poo. It's Paul Motian. But you know that, Bilbo. Sorry to be so pedantic, it's a slow Thursday afternoon.
I guess autocorrect only works in fast motion 😊
 14. Van der Graaf Generator! The line-up has occasionally included a bass player, but the longest-serving versions just have Hugh Banton dancing on his organ's pedals.
 15. Ooh, lovely P... what are the controls?
 16. Good close-up of the beginning of the solo in this version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrSpW9axoaw
 17.
Presumably you can enjoy an evening out whether you use a compressor or not?
I sometimes spend an evening in evening out, iron-ically.
 18. Turn it off. If it sounds better, leave it off... if not, turn it back on again!
 19. Apparently Alan White is now taking "time out", so the Yes/No debate rumbles on.... http://teamrock.com/feature/2016-07-27/is-it-time-for-yes-to-call-it-quits
 20.
It's a bit more difficult when you're going for a post-apocalyptic style vibe but we're probably going to buy as close as we can and then alter them
Ah, you'll be looking at the "road-worn" series of clothing then...
 21.
That's the creepiest selection of clothes I have ever seen.
And the most baffling... "sexy" clown, anyone? http://www.aliexpress.com/item/sexy-men-costume/852637645.html?spm=2114.40010208.4.101.e8IbNw
 22.

Joe is correct... zbd is an octave out!
 23. Woody? http://youtu.be/RxeV3qWqvSU
 24. My first band started out playing stuff we just liked and then became predominantly "original"... we opened our set with an obscure cover, Todd Rundgren's Real Man. We weren't trying to fool anyone, but it was a little saddening to be told it was our best song!
 25.
I thought the Revelation was ok and I don't regret buying it. But I find it uncomfortable.
This is why putting in the legwork and trying as many basses as you can is so important. You'll know when you've found the style of bass is right for you, then you look at what the options are within your budget.
