1. Lovely! Thank you.
2. Anyone got one? Many years ago I had a UK built MAG400H (red front) and it was a great sounding amp, and I ended up selling it. I like the Ashdown sound but since that flawless MAG400H there have been loads of horror stories about Ashdown reliability. I have no idea if that has been fixed or the issues remain - so that's really what I'm asking about. Are they now as reliable as any other? Or is there a reason I sometimes see 2 on top of a 8x10? ta
3. I put a set of Flexsteels on my Sandberg and I'm not getting on with the feel under my fingers. Great sounding string, but I'm going back to Pro-Steels I think.
4. He just had more of my money as well - for a Darkglass Vintage Microtubes Deluxe. Great bloke. It actually annoys me when I want to buy something he doesn't stock as I'd prefer my business went to him.
5. I often run 2 compressors - one after envelope filter types but before the drive, and then after the drive as well. If I have to only have it in once place then I'll lose the after drive one. Placement causes very different sounds and there is no right or wrong place as long as it works for you. I love my Empress Compressor, but I'm very keen to try the new Keeley one as well - that looks like a great unit.
6. I've had several Status basses and a Modulus. I really like them. There seems to be a clarity to the note that wood doesn't have. Very piano tone-like. The only reason I don't have a 5 string status us that their standard neck is too wide for me - but I may well get one of their musicman ray5 replacements at some point.
7. I sold my Shuttle 9.2 but my Streamliner isn't going anywhere. I really hope this works out for Jeff, his products are brilliant. I'm also hoping he does some new small combos - a Streamliner type into a 1x12 with a built in compressor would be perfect for me!
8. Do we know if it works on a low B yet?
9. I think Bass Direct have them now.
10. All my 4 string have D tuners on. I find them very useful. I also play 5 strings. Different tools for different tasks.
11. Calais disruption is causing loads of postal delays from the Rest of Europe. It's not Thomanns fault. After all, they are not French truckers!
12. These things are awesome!
13.
so how about a nice basschat members discount ?
It's already on discount!
14. I have coveted that since I first saw it. But with my back -nothing over 9.5 lb gets in my house. Gutted.
15. I've never tried mine straight into a power amp. I'll have to give that a go. I see Thomann are doing the Limited version at the same price as the standard one - £247.64 delivered. I'd be tempted, but I think I want a Vintage Deluxe next.
16. Can I ask why it isn't Centre-neg? That seems to be the way 99% of new pedals are.
17. Those twonks at Amazon delivered another wrong pickup. So while I'm swapping that again, I've installed a set of Hipshot Ultralites tuners. I've gone for Y shape rather than the clover design as the Y versions are the lightest. That change has knocked off 1/2 pound and got my already light Ray to under 9 lb. it balances way better too.
18. Zon don't. The Hyperbass just has a 3 octave neck.
19. Jonnydoghouse (who happens to run Tricky Audio - the UK builders for Greenboy cabs) bought my Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 and rack mount. Communications were great, payment was fast and he let me know it had arrived safely. All good!
20. Marleaux. Amazing instruments. I'd get a Betra with a few tweaks to the standard design.
21. Strewth. I was just curious about current Class A/B amps and what was good! Not really even planning on buying, just curious!
22. Awesome colour. I'm gassing for a 4 string VS passive in that colour! I'd have to sell stuff first and I'm not very good at that!!
23.
Here's my VM5 - custom ordered from Bass Direct; arrived a couple of weeks ago, and I've hardly put it down since. I love it.
Is that Marley Blue?
