1. Anyone got both a TT4 (Or TM4) and a VS4 (or VM4) Are the neck shapes the same? Or does the V type have more of a P bass neck? ta
2.
Try this one : http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/
Yup. that one. That one was set up by the former members of Musicradar - from when Musicradar still had a forum. They closed it when there was a security issue with their Gaming website but never turned all the forums back on again.
3. The Demeter certainly is very clean and it really allows the sound of the individual bass to come through - but you won't get 1960s tones out of it without a pedal I love the clean piano tone it has - but I'm also a big pedal fan so it ticks all my boxes.
4. I use my Demeter and Berg cabs. But I do have a Roland Bass Cube 30 that I do gigs with when supporting acoustic instruments and woodwind etc. it's great.
5.
These techie explanations are great - they're really explaining what I've been hearing for a while now in the consumer bass end of the Class D market. If someone (Alex?) can come up with a lightweight with a power supply that isn't lightweight (if you know what I mean), colour me interested.
Try the Demeter. It's brilliant.
6. I'm loving mine too. It's very clear and lets the individual sounds of my basses come through. Reacts well with pedals too.
7. Lovely! I have the 5 string version. Wish I had the funds to make the set.
8. Bump Now includes a lovely carbon fibre bow for no extra money! Make me an offer - I need to buy bricks!
9. My Demeter VTBP-M-800D (they really need to get some better names for their amps) is amazing and has huge heft. But saying that - it depends what use the amp is going to put to - when playing with a load of woodwind instruments I don't want heft - I want clear articulation that is merely supportive to the other instruments. Horses for courses.
10. I felt the same way! I went for an Empress in the end and I'm very pleased. Although I'd consider the new Keeley that is available now. If you want small - then the Wampler is well regarded on ovid. But I've not tried that personally.
11. Marquis Motherlode. It's an attenuator with DI outputs.
12.
that black mark? a 4-5mm black mark on the underside of the neck wouldn't bother me in the slightest. If the rest of the bass is fine I'd go with "mint". Unless the binding is somehow affected...
+1 Doesn't look like a shipping issue as there is no other damage. Wouldn't bother me at all.
13. No takers? It's an awesome thing - not just for EUB use, but also a brilliant bass problem solver for gigs.
14. No Trades Thanks alas I need the money - I'm building a little house extension with a down stairs toilet. Every penny counts - so I can spend a penny without walking up the stairs!
15.
Cheers. There's a small rechargeable battery in the compartment. The bass comes with a plug/transformer connected to a 1/4" jack, so you just insert the jack into the bass' jack socket, plug into the mains and leave for a few hours. <img src="" />
I had that on a Marlin guitar in about 1990! It had little LEDs on the scratch plate to warn about low charge.
16. I play at lower than telly volume unless I know for sure they are out. If I want louder then it's headphones - the Ampeg B15 model in Amplitude is actually pretty good on my iPad, and I do have a headphone addiction so I've got a good selection.
17. As I'm selling my EUB I'm also selling this amazing bit of kit. Now sadly discontinued, it is a powerful EQ, compressor, preamp etc etc that can run on battery or adapter (doesn't come with one) I can only find 2 recent sales on ebay, both at over £100 and with shipping from the USA. So for the BC massive it's £85 + postage. It is quite heavy and I would expect postage to be £8 to £10. But you are welcome to collect if you are near Northants (Near Junction 16 on the M1) ta
18. Selling my NS Design NXT 5 string EUB I am the first owner and I bought it from Bass Direct It is in excellent condition. It has the large bag / soft case thing that comes with it and the standard tripod stand. it is currently fitted with silly money Thomasktik Spirocore strings (almost £200 for for a 5 string set!). They are a great improvement on the stock strings which (for me anyway) sounded far too bright. It will also come with the stock strings so you can decide for yourself which ones you like best. Due to the size of the thing this will be collection only - I'm near Junction 16 on the M1 - Northants. £750.00 ovno with both sets of strings and all the gubbins. ta ADDITION If any of you good people want this lovely thing, then I will now also add a Yita Music "Advanced" model bow for no extra money! I bought this direct and it flew in from China.
19. Have you got an accurate weight yet? I am interested but it really depends on the weight.
20. I have the same reaction to new Pro-steels, but the flexsteels take it further to the point where I actively didn't want to pick the bass up. No point having a lovely bass when I didn't want to touch it!
21. I've got the Cliff Burton wah. For it's purpose it is excellent. For anything else it's pants.
22. I had an Attitude 3 that was 12 lb (5.4 kg). They vary so much that I would not use figures from a different instrument.
23. Bergantino. Can't go wrong.
