1.
bought and sold several items on www.thefretboard.co.uk with no issues. similar kind of forum to here and good deals to be had!
Me too! It's a cool place for thin stringers.
2. I didn't think I liked that colour but it is growing on me by the day.
3. I just got the next load of music for my orchestra gig - and I definitely need 5 strings. I think I'm going to look for a 5 string P bass and give that a try.
4.
Just get a headless bass...
Or a piano. Or a psychiatrist!
5. I had a TM5 and never had this issue. I was using a Tecamp Puma head and (at the time) Bergantino cabs.
6. I suppose I find it strange that a fat neck 4 string is the same nut width as a Stingray 5.

Make sure you try one. The neck shape is quite square these days. I love Status but I don't like the current neck shape at all.
8. I didn't realise 1 finger was so common. I use 4. My youth as a Sheehan wannabe demanded it. The little finger gets the least use though.
9. Looks like a good example of the breed, but alas that colour is not for me.
10. The classic 50 looks nice. My brain is having a problem with a MIM Fender costing over £1000 though!
11. I quite fancy a good old passive P bass. I have never owned. 7.25 radius board bass and I fancy trying that. Is that only available on the wider board (44mm) models like the Vintage US and Mex 50s series? Or are there more options? Ta.
12. That looks lovely. After 28 years of playing mostly active basses, I find myself wanting a good old fashioned P bass.
13. ThorpyFX Fallout Cloud (new name for the Muffroom Cloud after EHX got upset) - but with a clean blend. That would be perfect.
14. Bass > Line 6 Helix Rack > FX Return on a Tecamp Puma > pair of Barefaced One10 cabs.
15. Tecamp Puma 300. Not quite as small as some, but only 2.2lb and very powerful.
16. I had a Zon Hyperbass for a while. 34 scale with D'Addario piccolo strings on it. It was excellent and great fun. By the time I sold it, I managed a half-way acceptable version of Michael Manrings "Monkey Business Man" and "Adhern" - the latter needing 2 ebows.
17.
I have a friend who's whole attitude to life, emotions etc is that it's all just electro-chemical impulses. Therefore meaningless, so he pretty much gave up on trying to achieve anything in life.
I have the same view, but use the lack of an imposed meaning to choose my own. Understanding the chemistry of the brain does not make it less wonderful.
18. The very minute there is effort to learn - then you are a musician. The word does not imply competence.
19. Bass Direct have a couple in stock. The upper fret access problem is common that type of shape. Same as the T-bird. It's not a shredders bass!
20. I'm very much enjoying my One10 with a Tecamp Puma 300. My amp gas has ended.
21.
Demeter... similarities?
Nah - it looks like the old Engl Ironball guitar amp that has been around for years. I suspect it is a bass version.
22. I've used bass amp modellers for years. Mostly Line 6 stuff, but also Tech 21 I'm using a Helix now and the bass models in it are all very different. There's SVT normal channel, SVT Bright, Mesa 400+, a GK model, B15 model and other stuff too. And the best bit about modern modellers with powerful EQ is that all amp models (even the guitar ones) can be used properly on bass. In parallel signal paths if I fancy it too.
