Less than half of the deals offered actually happen. Lots fail in due diligence, sometimes the "offer" is actually given as a straight loan, sometimes the applicant doesn't take it as the publicity from the show is enough to get them what they want without giving up equity. Oh - and the cable needs TWO batteries. 1 at each end. It's a solution looking for a problem. They were on the fretboard forum (the biggest UK guitar forum) in 2014 trying to flog them and there wasn't a single forumite who wanted one. Not even the Russ Andrews power cable buying audiotards.

Ta! [/quote] The full fat Ray 5s can be 12lb or can be just over 9lb. They vary a lot so you'd have to try each one. i managed to find a low weight one, and then I got rid of another half-pound by swapping the tuners to Hipshot Ultralites.

[/quote] Or he's paying a significant amount to make it perfect for him so he wants to keep it even more. My own 2005 5 string has twin EMGs and been routed out for them. (Yes I did that to a limited edition one). It is now perfect for what I want. It's not going anywhere. It is correct that modded EBMM instruments get more flack than say Jazzes. I imagine it is partly because of the way the EBMM forum is run with zero tolerance for mods or sometimes even discussions about non-EBMM strings! Quite often the flack includes "Sell it and buy the bass you really want - don't ruin that!" However there aren't any other production line basses with that neck, or with that string spacing. So if body contouring and different electronics are what you need to be changed there is no possibility if "buying the bass you really want" as it doesn't exist. Whenever I get that sort of crap I always ask - What non-custom bass can I buy with that neck and with 17.5mm string spacing etc etc that (for example) already has EMGS or whatever. I've never got an answer.

    For £30 the box models will just be a daisy chain in the box. They won't have isolated outputs. Can be fine if your pedals aren't noisy though.

    I gigged my little stack last week. Music Trust gig so several ensembles of various sizes. Sounded brilliant. Extra height of 2 cabs was great for monitoring and there seemed to just be a bit more of everything. Played everything from Bacarach tunes to the Hawaii 5-0 theme!

    Even when I play in the local orchestra I learn the tunes so I don't have to use the music. I treat it like I was in a rock band again. I never look at it during the performance, eyes on the conductor. I am often surprised that even the Grade 8 players haven't memorised them. Some of them could sight read and transpose at the same time having never seen or heard the piece before. But not remember it after a term of rehearsals.

[/quote] I copied it for a long time. Attitude basses, 2 amps the whole lot. Played some Mr Big and Talas tunes in the sets too. Funnily enough my chops aren't good enough anymore, but now I can read music and I couldn't then.

    Yup - you can run the 1/4 jacks with Cab sims and the XLR without, at the same time. Or the other way round. Why would the price come down? Demand is far higher than supply. Prices never come down in that situation. And don't forget the pound is in the toilet against the dollar now too. The amp models have been tweaked a bit in V2 firmware as well. Definite improvement on the ones I use a lot. It's one of those rare things that I haven't had a millisecond of buyers remorse about.

    Firmware V2 is out! And it has "Snapshots" which is basically Fractal's "scenes" on steroids. Single stomp within a patch to not only activate a full memory of blocks on/off, but also it can remember 64 parameter changes too! I can't wait to try it!
