  1. 9 year old thread bump. Weird.
  2. i use an Audient iD4 interface into my ipad pro, and then Amplitube for the sounds / play along app. with whatever headphones are closest at the time.
  3. The Sandberg Basic is active, but it has a bypass and one of the knobs turns into a normal tone control when in bypass. It's a very good system.
  4. Sandberg do a passive VS as well as the active one. Musicman do 2 The Joe Dart - just a volume control Mike Herrera (that has 3 knobs but they are dummies)
  5. I bought Andy's Ampeg Compressor and it's very nice. Arrived very fast and I took the risk of using it at rehearsal on the day it did. All good! Thank you.
  6. In that case I wouldn't bother at all (unless you just want to have the amp because it's fun!) Go direct - use one of the many Ampeg plugins and tweak as much as you like after you've recorded the part already.
  7. What's the rest of the recording set up? 99% of bass recordings are direct, with plugins these days.
  8. I quite like the look of these. Demos sound really good.
  9. I've asked no end of dimension / weight questions to a variety of shops and the only shop that always goes out of their way every time is GAK. They've been ace for that sort of thing.
  10. I'm silently judging you for not getting four 8 ohm cabs to do it properly.
  11. I'd caveat that - if I'm actually getting a proper pay packet then I'm happy to be staff.
  12. I wish my fingers had envelope filters, synths, overdrives, and compressors in them. Then maybe my tone would be in my fingers. I can get by with a jazz and a good compressor - but that's just getting by. It's only a few of the sounds I want to make.
  13. Can't say weight without weighing it. The NYC instruments are almost always under 8lb, and some much lighter than that as they have chambered bodies. As for everything else - wood varies. Could have 2 that look identical but have them weigh 2 or 3 pounds different. Ask the seller to weight it. It's the only way to be sure.
  14. Is the Will Lee a Metro or a proper NYC one?
  15. I’ve seen several vids and articles saying it was Roto steels.
  16. I'll never sell my Roland. Even though I've got a stupid money Barefaced rig that Roland is staying. Wonderful little thing!
  17. He's the guy that bought all of Dave Mustaine's guitars when he was swapping brands. https://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/220746/hes-back-mr-essex-guitars/p1
  18. All strings do that of any construction and length It's unavoidable - the pluck on the string stretches it for a moment.
  19. Aye - I think those pickups are a terrible idea. Ok - so there's not many pickups that can cope with the span of a 6 string fan fret, but sticking with the dimension ratio of scaled up EMG / BARTs etc would make it far easier to find something.
  20. Every set of Roto flats I've ever had did that. Almost like I had to wait for the other 3 strings to get as dull as the E. So I swapped to Dunlop flats - they do short and medium scales too. Very happy with them.
  21. The ramp is lower than the pickups! I used some thick micropore tape under my ramp instead. Does the job now.
  22. I compared the TC with a mate's D'addario tiny thing this morning and the TC is so much better. Reacts better, no problem with the lower strings. I might actually get a 2nd one.
  23. I need to go through the trunk of things to see what I can sell off to raise the funds.
  24. When I was looking at these I completely missed that an expression pedal could be used. Now I have bad GAS again!
