This is brand new, unused and first time out of the box for the photos, as I inadvertently bought two, so this one has been sitting in it’s packaging for a few months waiting for me to do something with it.

A great first time with The Gray Project https://www.thegrayproject.co.ukat the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket, supporting Smith and the Honey Badgers. Lovely crowd and staff They want us back in March and May
Despite the crappy logo I really like it, after a good setup and new strings it works very well for me. I tried a German Metro Express recently, in Germany funny enough. It was very nice and felt like a more expensive bass, however, at three times the price I can neither afford nor justify the cost. I also think that I prefer the simplicity of the two band EQ on mine as I didn't really have time get to grips with the German one in the shop. If money was no object however...
I have a USA one from 2006, which I love dearly. All standard, with the S1 switch, I can't think why I would change anything; it does the job very well. and is probably my most gigged bass.
I have a couple of Precisions and a Sadowsky Tesco Express fiver, which is my main squeeze with the current band, however the Jazz is the one I wouldn't part with.
I tried the Sonicake briefly at a rehearsal last night and my initial impression was very good. It was easy to slip into Dalek noises if the octave knobs were two high, but for a more subtle, and in the context of the stuff we were playing, more usable sound I had it set somewhere like this attached. First time I’ve used an octaver but seems a good deal for 27 quid and looks well made enough.
Me too, although I’m sure as a callow 15year old with a Kay precision copy that I never came close, despite jacking up the VS on my HH amp and playing round wounds with great speed and gusto with a nylon pick.
I think they come with Fender nickel wound 7250 strings, reputedly made by D’addario. I had them on my FSR P bass. Nice strings.
Thats a lovely bass and a great price.
I bought Brian’s Pedaltrain.
A smooth, efficient and very pleasant transaction, despite some PayPal muppetry from me. Well packed just as described and a very prompt delivery.
This works for me. Stock USA pickups, I tend to use 100% neck 75% bridge, tone in the middle. I have a jazz with the S1 switch. Switching to series really does beef up the sound and output
