  1. That’s our job. Great feeling isn’t it !
  2. Me too Rob Once I’ve written it down I have to rely on my notes.
  3. I just tried the above Japanese RV4 Metro Express that’s been hanging around at GuitarGuitar Edinburgh (I’m on holiday)for a while now and have to say I’m surprised it’s still there. Lovely! I’m a very happy Chinese Tesco Express owner, I’m intrigued to try the new line. At £1400 for the Japanese one, if it had been a 5 string I’d be sorely tempted in fact I think I still am.
  4. Back to the John Peel Centre last night for a funky evening with the The Gray Project This is the stage set up for the support band. My kit is hiding behind after we had sound checks. It was great fun, good sound, nice monitor mix, a great sound engineer and small-ish but very friendly appreciative crowd. I was very tired, having had a 4:30am start for my day job and then playing from 9-10:30pm straight through, fuelled by a massive kebab and chips after sound checking, then loading out and driving home arriving after midnight. A proper coffee and carbs day.
  5. Wilton Felder Trumpet player with The Crusaders played the classic Jackson 5 I want you back bass part
  6. I love mine. It's probably been played at more gigs than all my other instruments combined
  7. Yes I have a 2006 Jazz with the S1 switch. It works very well when you need a bit of extra thump.

  9. They’re great.Really nice guys and excellent service. However if it was me I’d go for the Trace Elliot Boxer above.
  10. Yes that makes sense if you have space for the preamp and battery in your Squier. I'd expect the build quality on these is in a similar league. The 4 knob VTC on the control option, that I fitted isn't solderless though that must be an older model you're looking at. Having been a long time Fender P and Jazz fan I love Sadowsky basses for the reasons you mention, plus the light weight controls and neck feel I suspect the introduction of the ME series is a cunning plan as a gateway drug to the Metroline and NYC models !
  11. I believe that the VTC upgrade is no longer available solderless. I certainly had to solder mine; which was straightforward enough, although I also had to add a washer to the volume pot to clear the cut out edge on my Chinese ME, rather than get jiggy with my router. I haven't seen this as an issue on any other forums or the Sadowsky users FB page apart from my post.
  12. I’ll give it go at the next rehearsal
  13. Definitely It gives a much weirder palette if usable sounds, particularly using the bridge pickup.
  14. I would if I had two 2x10s but I don't want to stack the combo on it's end
  15. Me too, especially since I fitted a VTC plate
  16. I have the LM2 head in my combo and feel pretty much the same. Are they better than the newer class D ones? I’ve had this setup for quite a long time and often toy with the idea of changing, eg V4B or Handbox valves intrigue me, then I gig this rig and think yep that’ll do. I like what I’ve read and seen about the Cali compressor too.
  17. I imagine it would be good for di recording bass to add a bit of warmth like I do with guitar. I tend to use a pretty clean bass sound live.
  18. I haven't tried it with bass only geetar.
  19. I have a Joyo American Sound guitar pedal. It's really good, I'd be intrigued to try their bass pedals
