1.
I'm desperate to start a blues band. A real experienced group of musicians with about 30 songs and plenty of jamming. I've been in blues bands before and when it works there is nothing like it.
Ironically, that's the band I get least out of as a musician. The musicians have all been playing longer than I have (and I'm in my 33rd year now) and it's tighter than a ducks bottom, but the genre just doesn't really 'do it' for me.
 2. Busy but not hugely varied at the moment. 1x Folk Duo 1x Folk Trio 1x Covers Band 1x Blues Band I've always had a 'preferred' music type to play, but when there's none of that about, I'll play just about anything just to keep my ear in.
 3.
Who can we see in the queue directly behind the youth receiving signatures...!?
Ah - you mean the one that is trying to look like they haven't *actually* noticed the camera at about 0:10..?
 4.
Now, if only BassChat were to make some stickers.....
'Honk if you like Precisions' 'My other bass has flatwounds on it'
 5.
Presumably the mods will remove any Fodera's advertised at £49.99 + £5000.00 postage.
Oh yes indeedy.
 6.

Crikey! This takes me back... Anyone remember Police 5?
 7.
Yeh, I really should have had a shave! :-)
I was gonna say that but after much thought, due consideration and risk assessment of the potential hazards, I decided to..... be a coward.
But seriously he seemed like a really nice bloke and was not at all condescending.
Excellent And now I suppose I should own up to having to look him up because I'd no idea who he is. Still not much clearer now, but at least I can make out I've heard of 'Joy Division'. (?!?)
 8.
It was a pleasure to man the BC corner. Seashell was by my side most of the time, so we ended up working as a bit of a team Here she is, meeting Peter Hook:
Wow! I never knew Peter Hook was blonde !
 9. I'm selling my soul for £500 just as a test, although I might be tempted for £550...
 10.
When I was a kid my friends and I were obsessed with learning to play guitars... we wanted to be pop stars, and the only way was to be f***in' good at your chosen instrument, which meant putting the hours in, probably 3 hours on a school day and more at weekends. No music techs or colleges for the likes of us
We may not have gone to the same schools but we were obviously there at the same sort of time Music in my school was either being part of the school brass band or playing nursery rhymes on Aulos recorders. Anything other than those two options meant going it alone - you could count the number of local bass teachers on less than one finger.
 11. I spent about 5 years as a session musician when I was in my mid 20's. I did quite well out of it, it paid a 50% deposit on my first house and I always had a few quid 'spare' in the bank at the end of each week. The thing that changed my whole attitude to music was regularly going on tour with various artists and spending so much time away from home. I came to the realisation that I'm a guy who needs some 'roots' in his life, a place where I know where I am and, equally, where I am knows me. The final straw was waking up in yet another bland 'carbon copy' room in yet another carbon copy hotel and realising I had absolutely no idea which town I was in. I finished the tour and gently moved away from the music business over the next few months and tentatively changed careers.
 12.
Remember that bad publicity, appropriate or unfair, on this site or anywhere else, may lead to dwindling attendance and cancellation of the show in the near future. When that happens, don't come complaining that you can't see decent basses or gear in the shops anymore and you have to order blind online.
+1 Am I missing something here or am I to understand that the people who attended enjoyed it and the people who didn't go... reckon it was rubbish...
 13. Sounds like it's not a browser dependant issue then. I'll bounce it over to the Admins and see if they can shed any light on the problem.
 14. I don't recall seeing the phrase here, but in the climbing world we have a saying - "all the gear and no idea". Latest boots (with the price ticket still on them), latest rucksack, latest waterproof GPS and yards of the latest high performance, multiple layer Goretex. They're usually the ones who end up getting lost or need to be carried off the peak on a stretcher. The purpose of that story is to point out that, no matter how much money you throw at something, if you don't know how to use it, you'll come a cropper.
 15.
What is this, March Of The Mods
We tried that but I kept going 'RIGHT, LEFT' when everyone else was going 'LEFT, RIGHT' and we got in a right old mess trying to sort it out...
 16. Spray WD40 on the corroded metal part and gently scrape the green off. Wipe the debris away and repeat until it's all gone. A little polish up with a bit of Brasso and it'll be as good as new.
 17.
spent an hour tonight checking components and nothing seems broken - the game is afoot!
18. I had noticed my PM popups seem a little bit erratic but I'd put it down to an IE10/Forum Software mismatch. What browser are you using?
 19.
Since you ask so nicely! Something wrong with your computer?
Must be. It looks fine from here...
 20.
No idea...get it to a good tech - mine have commented on how well they are put together (meaning they are very fixable!)
They're dead right - nearly all of the components are easily available 'off the shelf' stuff that most decent amp techs will have to hand.
 21. There is a fault similar to yours described here. Unfortunately, the diagnosis (and subsequent solution) is going to be a bit hit and miss unless you have the appropriate equipment.
 22. Use cocktail sticks, matchsticks are far too soft.
 23. I've got Eleanor Rigby going through my head at the moment. Sorry...
 24.
all together .. "well it's a marvellous night for a train wreck .."
LMAO
 25. I dunno... ...that lot are always trying to gain access via the backdoor... IBD (In Before Discreet )
