1. Fender operate a 'dealership only' retail model. Perhaps DV247 are no longer part of that dealership and can't get stock any more.
 2.
The 15" is wired directly to the input jack, whereas the 10" and HF are both fed from the xover. This seems like a pretty unusual arrangement but there you go. Does it sound right? There is nowhere on the xover for the 15" to be connected to, but there has definitely been some work done to the cabinet. It's dated '97 and the 10" is dated '99 and the xover board has 2 sets of screw holes so it's been out and back in before as well.
That sounds right to me. The 15" driver is being run full range from the input socket. The crossover is filtering out unwanted frequency ranges and providing separate taps to feed the 10" and horn.
 3.
I prefer this style of demo. There's a bit of silly jargon, but it's more useful IMHO
+1 That's probably the first product demo I've ever watched all the way through - they usually just seem to lose the message that it's about the instrument and become more of a platform for the person demoing it and often somewhat genre specific.
 4.
Ach, you lot forget i still have my youth
I'll have you know that I have the heart and soul of a young man...... ...in a jar on a shelf in the dungeon..... MWAHAHAHA
 5.
I'm assuming this means then that the crossover COULD be fried, but needn't be as the ten is pretty obviously seized?
Yep that sounds like a pretty good assumption to me. The crossover assemblies used in these cabs are passive and not hugely sophisticated (they have no need to be) so there's not a lot to go wrong with them. Might be worth having a look at it to make sure nothing looks damaged\melted or loose though.
 6.
The person that wrote about it more or less said that it wasn't anything that you wouldn't already do.
In fairness, human nature is such that we all do things we shouldn't do. Sometimes we need a little nudge to put us back on a sensible track...
 7. The musical genre does nothing for me, but that little guy is definitely go places.
 8.
Jaco?
Nope, Ian.
 9. Martin Carthy is always fab and you've got Shelagh McDonald as well! Should definitely be a weekend to remember.
 10.
Fixed... Don't under-sell yourself..!
I couldn't with my legs sweetie...
 11.
I thought you only played folk music? Have you got a sideline as a karaoke DJ?
Nah, I have to eat from time to time. I'm one of them there musical whores we've heard so much about.
 12.
Consider yourself fortunate that you had this amazing band which you were able to understand..I couldn't in the beginning. I sang "Sheladooyeah yeah yeah"..
OMG! Does that mean that all those middle aged women who sing "elb I nissabody, elb nodgist enabody, elbeye niddabody OOOOOOH" at me on a Saturday night are actually Belgian, not drunk?
 13. Unfortunately it appears that it's not possible on the Headlite according to SWR. They recommend either an internal transformer change or using an external transformer.
 14.
Have to admit, I'm suffering from punctuation blindness at the moment. The project I've just finished included spending 4 months editing a 25,000 word document I'd written down to 16,000 words and I've really stopped giving a sh*t about details.
You wouldn't have a cheque book handy there by any chance Kiwi?
 15.
Yes, the pedant in me noticed that just before I pressed the "submit" button. But then I thought "what the hell..."
16.
Please don't, because things will be far less interesting if we all start agreeing all the time.
Oh OK then... I mean 'no they wouldnt!'
 17.
That's just ridiculous, and illustrates the woeful level of ignorance that abounds among the entertainers, whores and clowns that populate this "forum".
I do NOT have a woeful level of ignorance. I have highly accomplished level of ignorance.
 18.
Please note that this is punctuated correctly and grammatically correct.. BTW have you seen my new bass??
Very nice. You do know it's grammatically wrong as there are no full stops on the fingerboard though..?
 19.
I thought these emoticons were giant full stops anyway
Blimey. Must have taken you hours to write a letter before they invented computers.
 20.
So why, when there are millions of very tasteful recorded bassists, do we keep talking about and trying to emulate the same few? Is it because technicality is easily recognisable and easy to measure ones own, or another's, ability against? Are we unable to appreciate and learn from nuanced and expressive playing?
Puts me in a bit of a funny position that one. I keep seeing the same old names, Jaco, Clarke, Wooten (and a whole pile of others that don't readily spring to mind) and hey, you guys love them and that's just fine by me. However, half the time I've never heard of them and the rest of the time I just don't feel any particular compulsion to go and listen to them. I could sit next to them on the bus and I'd not know who they were. So that has pretty much left me a blank canvas/back of a fag packet to work on. This would probably also be a good time to admit that when I saw the 'Oscar Pistorious charged with murder' thread I thought it was Jaco's brother...
 21.
Didn't Skank teach you to put the smiley before the full stop, you stupid git? [Insert every single emoticon you feel for ... roughly ... here.]
Well, a full stop signifies that speech has ended. So try doing this... before you stop talking and see what happens...
 22.
How come I keep agreeing with Mr Fisher?
Blimey! Don't tell him that or he'll expect all of us to do it.
 23.
Not a great analogy.
It was the best I could do with what I'd got in my pocket.
OK, if someone just turns up without the right gear because they can't be arsed they're going to have to ask very nicely. But where there's four bands on a tiny stage with 3 minutes changeover surely a bit of sharing is sensible?
Yes that'd make sense from a stage\time management point of view, but I never play gigs that work like that.
 24.
If you're a musician you should own the right equipment - bring it and use it - don't expect to use somebody else's unless you've agreed it in advance.
+1 You never hear a doctor ask 'do you have a stethoscope I could borrow'...
 25. Nope. I either use my gear or I won't play. I know my equipment and I'm not interested in battling with something unfamiliar all the way through a set, it's not what I'm there for. The same goes for letting other people use my equipment - I've got it set up to suit me and my style of playing. It probably won't match another players requirements which means they'll be having the exact same battle that I avoided earlier by saying 'no'.
