Not without dismantling the amp and knowing what voltages are supposed to be appearing at particular points in the circuit and having an accurate way of measuring them there's not. I think I'd look at things other than biasing before going down that diagnosis path.
and hopefully enough pasties now due to the subscription dosh
I probably shouldn't point out that whenever Ped say's "I'll buy you dinner" it generally arrives in the form of a URL to Greggs website when they've updated their photos...
It's not just PMs. The issues in this thread haven't been resolved yet.
I seem to recall that this issue was tied in with a software upgrade from the manufacturer of the board software (i.e. the core software, not the parts that we customise). If so, the manufacturer now knows of the issue and will rectify it in a future release - until that happens we're kinda stuck.

I think I can explain this glitch. First up though, you don't have to pay to view ads. The rough chain of events looks like this: 1) User starts writing an ad. 2) User hits the payment screen. 3) The ad is temporarily 'stored' (invisibly) to the forum they were trying to post their ad to. At this point one of two things can happen: 4) The user pays the fee and the ad becomes visible. 5) The user abandons the ad and it is automatically deleted. What appears to be happening here is the notification software that sends out the e-mails is kicking in between 3) and 4). This means that abandoned ads as well as finished ads are being sent out. That's why you get an 'not authorised to view' message - the ad just isn't there to view.
Hi, I don't think lefties need their own forum, but feel free to start a 'lefties club' thread in the spirit of the old one if you like.
It's done. Pinned in the Bass Guitar forum to make it nice and easy to find at all times.

As promised - a left handed discussion thread. Same rules apply here as they do to all other forums.

HELP : Peavey Combo300 LOUD cracks & pops !?...
icastle replied to nuno1959's topic in Repairs and Technical
Another thing that just occurred to me that I should have mentioned. If you're replacing these capacitors then they have a '+' wire and a '-' wire (it's marked on the side of the casing). Make sure you put them back in the right way round. -
icastle I bet you know the infamous Tommo the drummer then?
Possibly - is he the guy that always drums in bare feet? Apart from a couple of gigs in the Queens Head (the other pub in the village) and the main 'slot' at Heather Music Festival a while back, I don't really play that locally.
May I just add @icastle that the existing lefty thread did not have to be taken down. Its title could have been changed to Lefty Discussion thread, moved appropriately and lefty members could still have a place to intermingle. It wasnt just about selling basses.
It was being misused and had ended up in a mess. After discussion a decision was taken to remove it. It's gone. You will soon have a replacement for it plus an added bonus of a dedicated LH Bass for Sale forum.
I think a yearly subscription is fine if it means becoming a full member with all access etc.
That would entail bringing in a two tiered forum - I don't think you'll find many people prepared to embrace that as a good idea...
Im sure many will start using the ebay option for smaller item sales. In fact, many items often end up there as it is the biggest online marketplace.
Ebay is certainly the biggest generic online marketplace, but BassChat, by it's very nature, has a specialised audience who are potentially in the market for specialised sales offerings - even a giant corporation like ebay can't provide that. True, we have lost a handful of ads (we can see abandoned adverts) but the overwhelming feedback we've had from members has been both supportive and positive. As far as I'm concerned, that tells me we've got the balance about right.
Well that would have been very rude. I'd wait until they finished. Poor Heather.
It's actually pronounced 'Heether'.
-
that sounds like icastle stepping up to me
I would if it weren't for two technical difficulties: 1) I'll not be here to grab it because I'm playing. 2) I'm actually barred from The Crown and incredibly pleased about it.

Unfortunately I'm playing both Friday and Saturday this week or I'd have grabbed it off Rushbo while he was in Heather.
