1.
Now that would have been an even greater disappointment to the punters than my playing
You could always blame the cold weather. I do.
 2.
It's almost as childish as middle aged men pretending to be pop stars.....
The main difference being that you don't need an audience to make a fool of yourself in front of when watching Dr Who...
 3.
Particular gripe of mine - the use of the work "then" when "than" is the correct word.
4.
So, I was asked if I wanted to play bass in a production of The Full Monty.
Wasn't 'Bass' the name of one of the strippers?
 5. I was out playing last night and it was initially pretty quiet compared to our usual turnout. They all turned up after Dr Who had finished.
 6. There are enough posts on BC where people haven't realised that leaving an active bass plugged in flattens the battery. If you replace the TRS socket with an XLR you're going to have to find an alternative switching method and if we can't remove a jack plug then we sure as hell aren't going to remember to turn a switch off are we?
 7.
I know of a bass player who tends to play major fills over minor progressions - all sorts of wrong
Les Dawson tribute band?
 8. You don't have to learn scales, but it sure as hell makes things easier on your nerves and your audiences ears.
 9. Here's a handy little tool for working out this sort of thing: http://ampservice.de/impcalc.php?lang=e
 10.
Couldn't ever be any downright dishonest sorts here.
It's certainly not a regular occurrence but we do get a few chancers. We mediate as best we can and have a surprisingly good success rate.
 11.
Yes, I hope they would come in sizes to accommodate people with..er...larger brains.
I'm confused now... ... we talking about hats or socks?
 12.
I am not interested in even the baby steps of setting up guitar chat.
Well that's easy to fix. If you see a thread with the word 'GuitarChat' in the title, don't read it.
 13.
Ah...so I'm pulling when I should be...pushing?
I refuse to comment on the grounds that I might incriminate yourself...
 14.
OK well the news I was going to share is that we DID have a developer lined up and poised to sign a contract but he pulled out literally at the last minute.
I warned you that this rhythm methodology didn't work very well...
 15.
Fie! And you a roister-doistering agrarian music specialist? A 'backlog' is the log you keep at the back of the fire, all ready to go, like. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/backlog Hence the much-performed song 'Hoy The Backlog!': 'Hoy the backlog, hoy it over, hoy it to the back. An hoy ye now the backlog no fire shall thee lack All: Hoy the Backlog Hoy the Backlog Hoy the Backlog Hoy the Backlog Hoy!' (Trad: adapted by Rambling Syd Rumpo)
Ha! Welcome back shanty mate.
 16.
I'd quite like to hear about some plans to develop this forum, for example what you are hoping to do to make the blog work again, restore the wiki and take a look at the backlog.
The replacement blog software (it wasn't part of the core software) has been chosen. AFAIK there are no plans to restore the Wiki as it's minimal use didn't warrant keeping or maintaining it. I have no idea what you mean by 'backlog'.
 17.
Just sayin'
Yep
 18. Get life insurance? It sounds to me as though you have a poor earth connection somewhere in your wiring. Perhaps try resoldering the earth connections and see if that resolves the problem.
 19.
Blocking replies in the wanted section solves nothing. For example if I read an ad for someone who wants to buy an item I'm selling and I can't post a reply, I can just send a PM instead...
There you go then, no problem.
 20.
Ah. A much bigger problem than I realised! Strike my complaint from the record!
No it's a perfectly reasonable question and it's always far better to throw reality into the discussion.
 21.
My cab has castors (hard rubber wheels) so guessing it won't work on it unless I lay it on its side ?
It'll work fine with castors on - the idea is to isolate the cab from the floor and, being on castors, the surface area involved is significantly reduced anyway.
 22.
Have you never heard of a 12-string guitar?
I've heard of them, but I thought the strings were closer together...
 23.
Except the real number of the beast is 616
Nah. That's the answerphone of the beast.
 24.
Seems actually that as UK law is different to US it might be worth ignoring them and seeing if they really want to spend the dosh hiring hiring a UK solicitor and taking it to the high court.
Stick £500K into the Basschat piggy bank as a downpayment and we'll test that out for you.
 25. Interestingly, I've found over the last few days that if I go to the YouTube site it crashes my browser every time yet I can see YouTube clips on here just fine. I will have a dig around and see if I can find an answer.
