I have been playing an Epi T Bird regularly now for about 6 weeks. I dont like the strap buttons position but have got used to it. It also has a lovely creamy bass sound which I cant get on my Fender Precision, and the nut is thinner too.

We do an end of show medley which starts with We Will Rock You then goes into Smoke On The Water and ends with Rappers Delight! The crowds love it!

Yes. I would in any case, as flats have a higher tension. IIMHO, basses are rarely playable out of the box and probably need a setup anyway regardless.

It plays well out of the box? The Quality Control of some new Fenders have been a bit suspect recently. My brand new 2011 US Standard had a terrible hump at the top of the neck which resulted in some work to make it playable.

Have you got any gigs booked for NYE? It didnt look like we were going to play this year, but got a last minute booking in a local pub. Only £500 but thats a hundred each and we finish at 12.15
