1. Cheers Dougie. I may change the stock strings that came with it, I think they are stainless steels of some description and I am a Nickles fan. Apart from that, it came ready to play straight out of the box and needed no tweaking from me!
2. Sorry Blue, I,m afraid that in the UK badass is a bridge.
3.
Cool if that works for you - but I think that's a bit sad. Who is to say what the potential of that new "start-up" band may be? Every band had to start somewhere...
It appears that the OP is in the USA where 'Bar Bands' take things a bit more serious than us Brits in the local boozer on a Friday night playing for beer money!
4. I used the new Thunderbird bass last night in rehearsal. The neck was a lot slimmer then the precision necks that I am used to, It will take some getting used to, but the sound was immense. The guys commented all what a great sound this bass guitar had. This one has the American made pickup. I was a bit worried because I had heard that the these guitars suffered from neck dive but this was not the case. The sound suited a l lot of the heavier songs that we do much more than the fender precision bass, but i still find it a bit uncomfortable the body shape is a lot different but I guess I will get used to it.
5.
Formed my current band -mostly- through Joinmyband. Had a lot of timewasters and complete morons on there but eventually it's paid off and found a group of folk I gel with musically and socially.
Same here. Got together two years ago, and apart from the original drummer we are still going strong.
6. James Jamersons' P Bass was considered unplayable apparently. It had a very high action and old strings and was never set up properly as he liked it like that!
7. I bought an Epiphone Thunderbird classic IV from them last week via mail order. On arrival here in London, I expected to do a bit of work on it to set it up and make it playable, but it played great straight out of the box!
8. I think the OP is in the USA so may not be able to buy stuff from the uk without a lot of import tax etc. Edit. No he is in the uk. That will teach me to look properly!
9. A nut can be difficult for a newbie. I would take it to a guitar tech if I were you.
10. Here ya go! http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?t=42142
11.
While we're on the subject - how do you actually pronounce 'decals'?
Dee Cales

13.
Google is your friend...
Blimey! He's at it again!!
14. Ah! Never thought about Googling it. The Rok sak looks interesting.
15. My new Epiphone Thunderbird didnt come with a case or bag and my trusty old Fender gig bag wont accomodate it. Are there odd shaped gig bags out there??
16.
I'm new to Limelight. Am I right in saying they're new basses, made to look old?
Yes
17.
Horrible sh*t brown colour. No weight given.
Its walnut apparently. Why? dont you like Fenders?.......Oh!
18.
Seems he has upped and left then maybe try and get your cash back and go elsewhere me thinks
Blimey! He was practically worshipped as a God on these pages. Hope he is still on the mend!
19. Part exed it for an American Standard P Bass. Everyone liked your one though, even the missus loved the colour!
20. Well, I had another go at getting my £9.99 sunday delivery charge refunded and Guitar Guitar have agreed. I wonder if they read this forum? Still, Every cloud eh?
21.
Ive got 2 fender P basses, whats the point in that ?
Did you not get on with the Stingray then?
22. This one runs out tonight no bidders as of yet. 23.
Don't know why but DPD are always the slowest option here, they seem to hand it off to the local post office it always seems to sit in limbo a day or 2 longer. Things have always arrived in good condition, but often had to wait 10 days from the UK. I'd be asking for a refund on the extra delivery cost.
I have been on the phone to Guitar Giutar and they are not interested. PlusI am out of pocket and bassless until I can get it redelivered!
