1. We are on the lookout for a studio to lay a few demos down. I dont want to go for the first place we see, but then again I dont want to get it done on the cheap. Then I got this email from the drummer! Finding the right person to record the band is hard, we need someone who is into the music we play to be able to get the best out of it. No point picking someone who has been doing it for 40 years and they only like Jazz etc. We need someone who is into classic rock and not some long haired hippy!!! What does everyone think?
2. Never the same since Wyman left.
3. It is being advertised as a Fender, it is clearly not. I really cant understand you happliy watching someone being fleeced Spacey!
4. Probably ebay or get a store to sell it on your behalf. If its what I think it is, then you cant sell it on here.
5. Has anyone reported it? It may stop some poor sod from being ripped off
6. Yes. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/did_loud_music_damage_your_hearing_take_a_test_and_see.html
7. Moondance at 72? I hope Bilbo doesnt see this!!
8. We done a gig where we was the first band on on. The bassist of the next band came up to me and commented that there was some nice bass playing going on and I was a good player. This embarrassed me somewhat and I muttered something about the onstage sound being terrible and I couldnt hear a thing up there. He must have thought to himself: "What an arsehole"
9.
What are you thinking, Blue? Are you coming on tour?
You'll need this then! http://londontopia.net/londonism/fun-london/language-top-100-cockney-rhyming-slang-words-and-phrases/

11. Rocking All Over The World.
12. How does he know its an ash body?
13. I really cant stand it when I hear the derogatory term "Guitards" used to insult our 6 string friends. I have a brother who has learning difficulties and this term upsets me.
14. They though it was great! Especially the drummer, he felt the bass through the floor. We are playing in a pub on Saturday so i'll bring it along.
15. I used my new Markbass combo last night in rehearsal and was greeted by sneers and chuckles from the other band members as I brought this little thing in. But i have read up on this combo and knew it punched well above its weight. In my rock covers band it coped very well, never struggling above the loud drums and guitars. I will see how it goes and maybe think about an extension cab.
16. Daisy Rock. Nuff said.
17. I usually post an ad on here stating that anyone who wants my used strings can have them free if they send me a stamped addressed envelope big enough to fit them.
18. What winds me up is when Basschatters post that they are leaving, and there is a huge outpouring of grief and being told to stay as the place wouldnt be the same without them. You come you go end of. There was another one this afternoon who said he was going. Ok bye, life goes on.
19.
I bought a Jack & Danny J bass last summer, predominantly as it was surf green! I was very (pleasantly) surprised at the general standard of components, fit and finish - and yet it only cost £119 brand new! I have gigged with it and would happily do so again. It has one of the nicest J necks I've played (allowing for the slightly rough/sharp fret ends). When I compare it to the rubbish I played back in the late seventies and early eighties I shudder at what we put up with!
I got a cheap backup a few years back from ebay. I think it was a Wesley or summat like that. It was well put together and didnt sound too bad after I set it up. Its quiet difficult to get a cheap and nasty unplayable bass in this day and age.
20. Who's George?
21. Move on. Theres no point in selling yourself short if your hearts not in it.
22.
I only became aware of any problems when I came on this forum. What exactly has gone on with Hall/Rickenbacker?
He threatened us with legal action over the selling of Ric copies on the site. http://basschat.co.u...ee-marketplace/
23.
I believe that Bruce played a Ric copy (live) and most of the Jam recordings were a Precision.
Yes you are right! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/182140-i-dont-really-understand-rickenbackers/page__view__findpost__p__1742389
24. I've had enough of this, I,m going down the pub!
