1. i was hoping he'd be covering the gong song.
  2. how about arabassist's artcore ?
  3.
Tried this before my MXR M80 last night, they sounded excellent together! Couldn't have imagined a better combination of grind and all out fuzz. Amazingly it sounded controlled and clear too! I'm thinking this pedal is definitely a keeper, it handles everything i throw at it and takes up a third of the pedalboard space of my Big Muff
you're making me wish i still had mr m80 !! but i agree, it's a great sounding fuzz. the subs are amazing !
  4.
I'm getting tempted now - my current "chainsaw" fuzz is a Blowtorch. I really like it but it's got a little something missing and it doesn't sustain well. This may be a bit more versatile though. Hmm.
i've spent the afternoon with my mastodon (!!) and to my ears it's got something over the blowtorch. i'm very happy with it...it's going to sound great with the techno stuff i do. the gated fuzz sounded are fantastic.
  5.
It didn't work for me either. nor did the Para. EBS Microbass was the answer.
plus the one.
  6.
Thats a truly lovely bass - but one hell of a lot of spondoolies - think what else you could get with the money - a second hand Sadowsky plus a couple of Fenders (P and J) and a lightweight rig (or a crate of Cristal )
i'd rather have the eccleshall
  7. a friend of mine years ago had one. it was ok...not the best sound in the world tbh.
  8. blaaaaaaaardy hell that's beautiful
  9. i'm 'between bands' at the moment, and to be honest i'm enjoying the lack of hassle in my life...although it has left quite a gap in my life. i'm trying to concentrate on writing new music for myself and getting my head round fretless. i am keeping ym eyes open for band stuff to do, but i think i'm going to be very selective about what i go for. so what i'm trying to say is....don't give up and don't flog everything !! interests wax and wane and i'm sure you'll a lot more bass-centric soon.
There is also the EHX LPB-1 which does the job pretty well, and they are a bargain at about £25-30 new.
the ehx unit isn't, as far as i've heard, a flat boost...it does add some colouration. all depends if you like the colouration !
  13.
I vill not buy thees record..... Eet is scretched.
boost

an mxr micro amp ? bulletproof and a clean boost.
  15. i've used one quite a few times in the past - if it makes things easier, then why not ? a guitarist i was playing told me it wasn't fair...if he used one he looked liked he was cheating, but a capo on a bass looked 'experimental'
  16.
Run. Obviously a scam.
plus the one.
  17.
The main thing is to try and enjoy it, and more to the point, LOOK like you're enjoying it, because if the band like you and your vibe, they're more likely to take you on over some miserable git who is technically brillant. HAVE FUN !!
plus the one good luck !
  18. now that a fellow basschatter has taken my old 4x10 off my hands, here's the new setup ampeg svp-pro >> samson 100W power amp (my soundtech's fans were too noisy for home, so the samson's a convection-only stealth alternative)>> workingmans 2x12 (with upgraded speakers) and an eden nemesis 1x15 with the tweeter defeated. sounds fantastic...thick and warm with a nice bit of valvey/compressiony punch. very compact too !
  19. there's a few guitars in there. there's the chord picking (compression and chorus i guess) and the slide part, which is a tempo-matched delayed overdriven guitar, played with a slide, or even a lap steel. prolly through a spce echo if i remember mccabe's setup. i just tried guitar >> compressor >> overdrive >> ehx stereo memory man with hazarai >> ehx holy stain. add slide/ebow to taste...sounded good
  20.
I only bought it for the chance of a free cup of tea. Imagine my disapointment when I didn't get one Nice to meet you mate, the rig sounds great. The neighbours are going to hate me very soon!
ack ! my manners ! the amp was sounding really nice with your yammy. lets the neighbours complain
  21. i love my jazz bass (1987 MIJ btw) but i only ever use the neck pickup, never the bridge. to my ears it's a much fuller sound. but each to their own of course !!
  22.
Worth another mention just for being soooooo good!
o canada !
  23. and sold to the very same. many thanks - always nice to meet another basschatter !
