Steve's actually made some really impressive acoustic improvements to all the rooms. At £6.50 an hour at peak time, I'm not complaining.
blimey, is it still that cheap ? and i suppose you can still pop to the chillingham for a pint after ?

The unconfirmed rumour is accompanied by another unconfirmed rumour that it'll be reopening somewhere else soon. I dunno. I always rehearse at First Avenue anyway cos it's cheapest! (And the guys there are top fellas.) Here endeth the pointless diversion.
1st avenue...home of the stickiest floors in any rehearal studio in newcastle...well it was when i was there regularly !

 6. i regularly used a burman cab in a practice studio in newcastle years ago (polestar - anyone remember it) ? i guess it was a 4x10 or something similar, due to the size and shape. sounded great.

 8.
Take it easy on him though guys, his intentions in posting were benevolent and we all know some people out there have difficulties with writing. It would have taken a little bit of bravery to contribute knowing there was a risk people might criticise.
plus the one

 10.
Maybe it's just me, but the speaker configuration looks kind of like a surprised owl squatting on top of a shocked frog.
do you have to mention shocked frogs after the 'sick monkey' thread ?

 13.
Really unjustifiably expensive coffee table looking basses that cost an arm and a leg to have made.
plus the one
 14. i've never owned a hartke, but one of the practice studios i use has a hartke combo (maybe a 3500 head ?) and it sounds great.

 24.
Harland & Wollf shipyard on top of my own 30ft scaff tower which was part of a circle of 8 such towers each with it's own dedicated PA stack all rigged to an 8 way joy-stick on the PA. The dancers came down from the ceiling and threw chalk and earth at the audience. We were fearsomely loud and we got paid well. You have to love groundbreaking theatre
sounds mental strangest place for me was on a stage in the middle of metroland - the kiddies indoor amusement park in the metrocentre, gateshead. he had a kiddies rollercoaster going by overhead as we played and we were surrounded by statues of gnomes and mushrooms...
